The food was edible but the entire experience from being seated to interacting with our server to the flow of the restaurant to paying the bill was not pleasant. And, $50 later I am scratching my head why didn't we pay half that nearby at place that specializes in waffles... We entered the restaurant and there was seating near what we thought was the hostess stand while you waited for the table. We spoke to the person at the stand and she said "you'll have to wait, I am in training". Well, turns out that wasn't the check in space because we should have spoken to that person who was waving an iPad and not very happy. As we navigated the narrow spot away from the waiting area, there were people coming in the front door waiting to get a table, pick up drivers trying to get to the stand, people looking for their friends already seated and the waiting people. This giant clump of people stepping on each other. I just think there must have been several meetings about the layout of the concept restaurant by people who have degrees in planning and design but no one took notes. I could include more about the lack of thoughtful architecture that would include the kitchen, the POS machine near a refill station, and the bathrooms but I will move on. Our server was not existent and just a slight step up on pleasant than the woman with the iPad. I requested that my entree items be served separately and while it did come out of the kitchen that way, her grimace and body language indicated it was the most difficult request that could be made. This was my first and last time trying to First Watch. It was an unpleasant experience. I have been going to First Watch or ordering from one near me. On the morning of March 19th, I decided to treat my CNA to breakfast and we chose First Watch at Barrett. It was early about 9:45 and maybe I was impatient but, what happened after entering went downhill. After asking should we seat ourselves, the cashier came over and helped us to a table. The gentleman who entered after us also sat himself after waiting as well. Once seated, I figured out why there was no one to seat us. Everyone else was having their breakfast. So when our server came over, she was wiping her breakfast crumbs from her mouth, in my head, "Ok now", your hands are nasty. Next, the server, addressed me as sir. Once, I gave her a death look, she realized her huge error. She apologized but she added,"It's just a habit." Huh? What? I felt,had she arrived, inteteacted with her guests and maybe said, "Good morning friend", she would have realized I was a woman. Then she took it upon herself to bend down and hug me as if she knew me and I was not longer her customer. What the _ _ ? Now more apologies as I looked at my CNA and said, "Now she's touching me." Food was great and portions were large. Fruits and salads were fresh and tasty, I really enjoyed them. My healthy omelet hit the spot. Service was pleasant and staff was very friendly, and the restaurant was clean. The only big no no is the acoustic. We sat in the middle of the dining room and that peticular location was noisy. Our waitress KK was fast friendly and knowledgeable when she great us. She took our order with a smile and we were very happy. She stayed on top of us for our wants and needs. The restaurant was very clean with a great ambience. After 30 minutes and seeing food coming out to tables who came in after us, our waitress came over and said she had made a mistake with my order so they were remaking my omelet and it would be two minutes more. Okay, that happens. 20 more minutes go by! No food! No waitress! People who came in after us have now eaten and are leaving, we still have no food. We couldn't find our waitress so we just left. This is a huge restaurant and it seems super popular! Luckily there is a lot of seating available and the restaurant is spacious so it doesn't feel cramped. Their menu has a lot of great options, so it was a little hard to choose. But I went with the frittata rustica (kale, mushroom, onions, and tomatoes) and I loved it. They let me substitute the greens for a side of potatoes, but I think I went wrong here because as great as the potatoes looked, they were very salty. To my surprise, the ciabatta toast slice was even saltier than the potatoes! My husband said his market hash was also quite salty. It wasn't to a point where it was unenjoyable, but it was definitely notable. I would normally give this restaurant a five star review but this particular location at 860 Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw does not earn a high rating. I requested my drink made with light ice. However, when I picked up my order my drink was packed with ice. I asked for the drink to be remade as I requested and when it came back it looked as if a quarter of the drink had been poured out. When I asked what happened to my drink, the waitress long blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail said I remade the drink and when the drinks are made without ice, they normally come in smaller cups - really! What is start by saying the service was excellent. The bloody Mary was very good. However, it had a secret herbal ingredient which I cannot identify. That made the great interesting. As for food: I have the beef and Havarti half sandwich with Italian wedding soup. The beef Havarti have sandwich was excellent although the horseradish dressing that's supposed to be on the sandwich was dabbed in one place and not throughout sandwich. That was disappointing. The beef was tender, and the rest of the fixings was very nice. If it was supposed to be hot, it wasn't. Somehow, I think it may have been prepared ahead of time and was sitting on the sideboard, waiting for someone to order it. Let's discuss the Italian wedding soup- Nada! A) the soup had no flavor. B) two meatballs, which were no bigger than your thumbnail tasted like a lot of bread in soup - they weren't really meat balls... c) Israeli couscous was generous to fault and very overcooked, hence, i'm sure it will be binding. My luncheon partner had turkey omelette spinach. Instead of egg whites she had free range eggs. She said it was very tasty. There was some nice fresh slices of tomato that came with the omelette and she would order it again. I wouldn't order the coffee again. It's highly acidic and doesn't taste like coffee. It's a cloudy day in Atlanta so the place wasn't crowded at all. I was greeted warmly and seated. My hostess was also my server and she appeared to be the only one for about 30 minutes. She did a phenomenal job though. Inside reminds me of the old Perkins restaurants of the 80's. It was clean inside but had a whole bar to the side. I ordered the Tri-fecta which comes with two eggs, meat of your choice and a Belgium waffle or multigrain pancake. That was one of the best waffles I've had! It was light and crispy with possibly a hint of vanilla. My eggs were standard powdered eggs and the bacon could have been cooked a few minutes more. My coffee was really good. Popped in for brunch on a weekday. Nice looking place, soothing decor with decent staff. Grabbed the market skillet and some coffee. Coffee was fresh and strong, but over priced. The market skillet was pretty tasty with the veggies cooked appropriately. I will say it didn't seem as fresh and it could have been, like it had been sitting around a bit. We ordered an omelet, carrot cake pancakes, strawberry french toast and the breakfast tacos. Everything looked really good. However, the carrot cake pancakes were filled with slivered carrots which were crunchy. The French toast was "eggy", The veggie omelet was delivered as a vegan burgerzzz lastly the tacos were just fair. We were very dissatisfied with the entire order. We returned the burger and attempted to order siomething else. The replacement order came out first. The new item took so long that the eggs got cold. There was no offer replace the eggs, so the we just canceled the new order and left. $70 later and we're still hungry. I'll never visit this establishment again. Very disappointing! read more

The wait for the food was incredibly long, one of the potatoes was cold and I wanted ciabatta not toast. They need to work on the kitchen. But the food's good when you get it. First time here. Nice spot. Very spacious. Noise level was decent. Food was superb! They brought warm syrup to the table for our pancakes. That was a pleasant surprise. We had the traditional breakfast with the multigrain pancakes and lemon ricotta pancake The coffee remained hot. That's always a plus. I had the blackberry sangria which was delicious. Service was good as well. Not fast... not slow. They're new and i went on a week day. It will be interesting to see how they handle the weekend crowd. We tried out First Watch for the first time today. I had seen them in several locations but had never been in before. I had the chorizo omelet with potatoes and my boyfriend had the Lemon ricotta pancakes with bacon. I started off with a mimosa, which was served with orange juice in a glass and a split of Prosecco, my kind of serving. The orange juice was very good also. They offer a nice juice bar selection, although we didn't try them, I will next time. The omelet and pancakes were both very good. We will come back soon. Service was top notch. read more

Bigger is not always better. Decided to try the second location of First Watch. This place used to be Fridays on Barrett Parkway. Off the start we waited afew mins to be seated cause hostess was nowhere to be found. Finally hostess showed up and sat us down with just setting the menus down and not handing it out individually. It was just me and wife. Our waitress was great and very attentive. They have a bar inside which takes up too much room which they could have put more tables. We were sat right near the kitchen so you can see all the action and stuff you shouldn't especially employees getting mad at each other for taking each others tables. Think we'll stick to the other location off Jiles. Food was great which made up for all the negative stuff we saw. Tried this first watch after having some good meals with good service in Arizona and another Kennesaw first watch. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. My pancake came out very cold. It wouldn't even melt the soft butter that they gave me with it. Then my wife's omelet came out very cold and greasy. The server was very good as the waitress tried to straighten things out by bringing me a hot, pancake and bringing my wife another omelet which was not much warmer. I went here while visiting family. I got the traditional breakfast with one multi grain Pancake, 2 scrambled Eggs and 2 chicken apple sausages. The food was okay. I really like Buttermilk pancakes, which is probably what I would have gotten. I'm not sure if they have it, though. The eggs were eggs, and the chicken sausage was just okay to me. The coffee was good. But I will say, the service was excellent. We had a great waiter, and I don't remember his name. But he was very attentive, very amusing and met all of our dining needs. It's okay for breakfast if you want to go there and it was pretty crowded but would I go back there again. I probably would mainly because of the customer service. read more

My wife and I visited this newly opened location in Kennesaw during their soft opening. The service was exquisite with a hostess greeting us upon entry and showing us to a booth. The restaurant has both table and booth seating along with bar seating. The inside is bright and cheerful and flooded with natural sunlight. Our server quickly arrived at our booth and offered to take our drink orders. I ordered coffee and she placed a carafe of hot coffee on the table. We also tried two selections from their Juice Bar which were delicious and full of flavor. We both agreed that the "Morning Meditation" was the star of the juice drinks. We decided to split our meal selections. My better half ordered the Roast Beef and Havarti sandwich which is served on grilled Parmesan crusted sourdough bread. I ordered the Farmhouse skillet hash which is topped with two cooked to order eggs. The sandwich was served with a side of horseradish sauce that paired perfectly with the roast beef. The hash is composed of bacon, house-made roasted tomatoes and onions, sliced avocado along with roasted potatoes and two types of cheese (cheddar & Monterey Jack). It also includes two pieces of whole grain artisan toast and house-made preserves. My eggs were ordered over easy and cooked perfectly. The Farmhouse Hash was delicious and an ample portion. I was so full from my half of the hash that I took home my half of the Roast Beef sandwich. We ordered a side of sausage and gravy that was a large portion of sausage gravy over a split house-made biscuit. This was the tastiest turkey sausage gravy that I have ever had the pleasure of eating. This restaurant is an excellent addition to the Town Center restaurant and shopping scene.
