Im a hash kind of guy, so the fact that First Watch has 4 different hash's on the menu, is certainly a thumbs up for me. First Watch is a breakfast place for those who want a change from the standard pancake house establishments. The food is certainly less greasy and I usually feel like I had somewhat of a more healthy breakfast than the other options out there. Some meals come with fresh fruit, and the English muffins are excellent. No matter which First Watch I visit, they are typically very clean and vibrantly decorated. Certainly, there are a few things I wish they had like a dark roast coffee option or some regular ole buttermilk pancakes. I don't think buttermilk pancakes would take away from their goal of being fresh. Just a note, don't expect anything deep fried or hash browns. They don't have them here. Move along over to the greasy breakfast spots we are all familiar with if you want some hash browns or a deep fried something or other. Overall First Watch is my favorite spot for breakfast. It's certainly a change from the typical American Diner type breakfast spots. read more

Sooooo I absolutely love breakfast food which is why I love going to First Watch for breakfast or brunch. I regularly go to Peach Valley and Keke's but I prefer First Watch for the following reasons: - Not over priced - substitute egg whites or no cholesterol eggs at no additional charge - substitute potatoes or bread for greens - fast friendly service - relatively quick seating - free wifi And latestly they always remember me on my birthday! Great little cafe for lunch. Looking around town to eat and had to decide between Tijuana Flats, Jimmy John's, and this little cafe. Boy was I glad I made the choice I did. After we arieved there were four groups ahead of us and was told that it would be nearly 20 minutes before we could be seated. Being a cafe we assumed this would happen do to the fresh food and short order service. It wasn't but 2 minutes passed that the group's in front of us were seated in then shortly after, we were too. We were giving menus and drinks almost immiediatly. We were well kept the entire time we ate. Our waiter was very prompt to do everything that we needed. We ordered and only waited about 5 minutes before our food came out. I received a French toast Monte cristo and my aunt had the pecan Dijon salad with montery club sandwitch. The food was fantastic. The bill was put on our table shortly after and we paid as we left. A manager greeted us at the cash register and asked us how our day was and if we enjoyed our meal. He asked us what we had and if we liked it. He promptly stepped out from behind the register and opened the door for us and wished us a good evening. This was a very nice cafe and would definetly come back if giving the option. I would reccomend it for a family or a date. Omg..... I went in there this morning I don't know if everybody's having a bad day.. but it seem like all the waitresses were upset about something..the food came to me very very very cold this morning.... and seems like they change their menu...The food was not all that great and healthy and it was cold as hell and it was a bexperience day... .... This is my favorite breakfast place but I was very disappointed today, due to the poor service. We sat and waited to order. No one came by. No one would make eye contact with us. Granted...I only go to First Watch when I'm in Florida, but it's a must stop if you're in the mood for affordable breakfast/brunch/lunch food with a quick, nice staff. I usually order the Santa Fe salad, which is romaine, mushrooms, tomatoes, cheeses and avocado tossed in Santa Fe dressing, topped with Cajun all-white meat chicken breast and croutons. Also comes ith a piece of pita. I also suggest the Bacado, if you're in the modd for breakfast. It's an omelete with bacon, avocado and melted Monterey Jack cheese. Comes with potatoes and an english muffin. Very good. My mother's a fan of their skillets. She's tried several of them and gives them allk two thumbs up. Only real con would be the wait and that they don't take reservations. That's why I can't give them 5 stars. Be prepared to wait over an hour on the weekends and about 30 minutes+ during the week. There's some seating in the front of the restaurant and outside, but you're most likely stuck standing up for an hour+. And if you leave...you lose your spot in line. There is a Starbucks next door...so you can get a cup of coffee while you wait. read more

While I've had issues with egg temperatures and special thanks requests at other locations (small issues, truly; nothing that ruins a meal), I've never had any issues at this location. I've reviewed 2 other First Watch's and this one has to be one of the busiest. And it's only about 2 miles away from another one on 436. Orlando has a lot of First Watch's! I usually come here after doing a group trail run at Wekiva Springs once a month. We can have up to 10 people in our party. I think that because the group is a regular here, they have become more accommodating to us, and to making sure we can all sit together. We even seem to get the same cool waiter each month. Since I come here after a 6 mile run, and a possible dip/swim in Wekiva Springs, I try to get my recovery protein through one of their egg dishes. My favorites lately are the Market Hash, followed by the Tri-fecta. I can't remember having any issues here that couldn't easily be rectified. Last time I had ordered an orange juice and they forgot to bring it out. At the time I didn't really care and was OK forgoing it. Half way through the meal, the waiter brought out the OJ, apologized and didn't charge me for it. Nice customer service, and what I've experienced from all First Watch's in general. Be prepared to have to wait at least 20 minutes at busy times. When we arrive, it's about 10:30 AM on a Sunday, and there is a crowd of people waiting. I don't know how other times fair. read more

First watch has a very large menu, and you can order breakfast or lunch whenever you want. It can get crowded on weekends, so I recommend going early. The ambiance is casual and comfortable, and they have good coffee and solid meals. You really can't go wrong here. I usually order out at this location. The place is always packed on the weekends and for good reason, they have amazing breakfast food options and even better customer service. The greetings are genuine, they open doors for their patrons, assist the elderly, i mean they go all out for their guests. I've been a long-time customer of this location for a while now. Eating here several times a week because I really love the avocado toast. Due to my last experience 2 to 3 weeks ago I finally contacted the location because they continue to serve me brown avocado which cost about $16 once I add bacon to my order. I'm not just giving them one star because I was served brown avocados several times before I actually called. I'm giving them a one star because when I called to let the manager (I think her name was Amy or Amanda) offered to send me out a gift certificate (that I didn't ask for) for my troubles. Yet its been 2-3 weeks and I have received nothing. How do you make false promises to customers to fix a situation only make it worse? I was just about to order today when I remembered I never got the certificate and why I haven't been ordering from them in awhile. I normally order several times a week which I can provide proof of BUT now this location has lost a long time customer! I've been going here since they shut the Altamonte location down on 436 and it's never been my favorite location (the Maitland one is the best) even though it's the closest to me. read more

This place is fabulous!!! Doesn't look like much from the outside, however from the moment we walked in they greeted us genuinely nice and sat us immediately. The kitchen is open too so you can see what's happening 'behind the scenes'. The menu is quite expansive with some unique twists on things. Our food was out really fast, we tried 4 different breakfasts and all of them were perfectly done and delicious. Wish I could try some of everything on the menu. I waited for about fifteen minutes on an order that had been ready. It was way past breakfast rush and they even had quite a few free tables. We just left this cafe and all I can say is wow!!!! Great food, great atmosphere, impeccable service and friendly staff. Every thing on the menu sounds delicious and is reasonably priced. I order the "Trifecta" with a carrot cake pancake and turkey sausage and my husband got the "traditional" with a blueberry pancake. Our food was delicious, seasoned and plated beautifully. My pancake was amazing so soft and fluffy and tasted just like carrot cake without being overwhelming. Also, they provide warm syrup which is a great touch. We will definitely return. read more

I haven't even eaten the food. I placed an order for takeout, got back to my hotel and then saw there was no silverware or syrup for the pancakes in the bag. I had to leave the hotel to go to Publix to get syrup and silverware. By the time I got back the pancakes were cold and I threw them out. Unacceptable! Such an easy service requirement to fill. Put silverware in take out bags it's VERY simple. When I called all she said was "I'm sorry there should of been silverware in the bag. Did you want to come get some?" First watch food is good by default just because of their menu so I can't complain about that. But if you order anything Togo you can always depend on them to forget at least one thing. First time it was two coffees, second time it was toast, third time it was two coffees again! Get it together, if your staff isn't capable of handling Togo orders don't offer it. If so, then READ THE ORDER, the information is available in writing not even verbally. I didn't even bring up the fact that I simply asked for no avocado on my food and not even that was done. I get that these are small things compared to the bulk of the order, but every single time is too much. I hate to cook, my wife hates to cook and we have 3 small children. Fortunately, we can afford to eat out (or we'd all starve to death) and for the most part we do. (Now that we have established my expertise as a restaurant critic j/k) I will tell you that I have come to expect and accept mediocrity in restaurants because that's typically what I get. But not here. We went to the First Watch in Longwood/Altamonte area (on 434) last week. We have been to the one in Maitland before and it was good but nothing memorable. My wife and children went in first to get a table and I went to find parking (the Only downfall of this place- parking absolutely sucks!). When I walk in there's a woman comforting my screaming 4 yr old son. She has a Dr Seuss book for him and she's calming him down as my wife is just watching in delight. She tells him "No more smiling! I mean it!" and of course all 3 of my kids start laughing. Our server Alex is AMAZING. He is so attentive and patient with my kids (and my beautiful, wonderful, pickiest-eater-on-earth wife). I never have to ask for a refill, my tea is full through out my meal and my wife has a whole pot of coffee to herself, so she's thrilled. The food was brought to the table in like 5 minutes. I got a Chickichanga tortilla and my wife got an Eggcrepe. The kids split chocolate chip pancakes and a Fruity Crepe. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The woman who was calming my 4 yr old came by to check on us later and we realized she was a manager. She told my kids " I thought I told you guys no more laughing!" which in turn had them all cracking up again. I couldn't believe how friendly and attentive they all were. How often do you have the staff at a restaurant cater to your kids? It's such a little thing but nobody does it. You can almost hear the eyes roll at some places when you walk in the door with 3 small children. Nobody takes a minute to make your kids feel special. It's just bad business because as I am sure anyone with kids will tell you, the biggest part of choosing where to go is "Where will my kids be comfortable and have fun, so I can eat in peace!" We love Keke's, the food is pretty comparable and the prices are close, but the staff at this First Watch (and obviously it comes from the top) are bar none the best we've ever seen! Ask for ALEX when you go, you will not be disappointed! (I'm sure the rest of the staff is great, but we've only been to this location once so far). read more
