Great food, we have always loved this restaurant. However, at this particular franchise we noticed some cleanliness issues. This chain very boldly has the entire kitchen openly visible to the dining room, and we were sat directly in front of them. One of the line cooks was talking on the phone while preparing food, wearing gloves and perpetually switching hands between food and cell phone. So already a flag for food safety but with the added bonus of wearing his mask below his nose. Regardless of your views on whether or not masks are effective, the virus lives in the respiratory system and even if you're not consciously spitting snot out of your nose, there should still be courtesy when handling others food. We had no plans in bringing this up to staff as it was more of a petty annoyance for us and we didn't want to cause any issues or seem rude, especially because the food came out quickly and our waitress was extremely nice. A few bites into our breakfast, my boyfriend found a long black hair buried underneath his potatoes :( We brought it up to our waitress and also explained our other grievances about the cleanliness of the line cook. She was extremely gracious about it and immediately expressed him a new meal, the manager came over and offered us both a complimentary breakfast this time and $20 credit towards a meal in the future. They also removed the cook from the line. So overall I wouldn't write them off completely, we did appreciate the over compensation, and understand the potential consequences of eating out during this time. We've noticed that food from the kitchen had been hit or miss over the past couple of years so we decided to give it another try today. My son and I came in for breakfast and the restaurant was at least half empty. We were promptly seated on top of another couple at a table directly in front of the kitchen. We then spent the next 45 minutes trying to hear what each other were saying and practicing our lip reading - even our server couldn't hear us voice our concerns over the sounds of 20 kitchen crew banging away. Our server was good and the kitchen prepared the food well but neither she or the other staff member I spoke to offered any suggestion except for "ask for a better seat" next time. I guess 2 out of 3 ain't bad right? Suggestion - don't put your patrons in the worst seat in the restaurant when it's empty. Ive been here many times in the past and have always had good experiences. I do think that their prices can be a bit steep... a mean an egg is an egg, ya know. I had not been back to First Watch since the moved from Altamonte Springs to Longwood so I was hoping not much had changed on the menu. Water was brought out as I sat down and the waitress helped explain items on the menu which had changed. I was able to find a no gluten salad which was made with Quinoa and it was perfect! filling but not that bloated feeling you get from heavier meals! First Watch is one of my favorite places for a good, healthy breakfast. It's certainly five-star worthy, but this location only gets a 4 from me due our experience this weekend. We visited this location this weekend for a late breakfast. We usually go to the location on University Blvd. near UCF, but we were in the Longwood area, so we decided to try this location. We know how First Watch is very very busy on the weekends, so we always check in ahead of time on Yelp. We did that this time, with a 19-29 minute wait time given. We needed to check in with the hostess by 10:56am. When we arrived to First Watch at about 10:50am, we were not greeted at the door. The hostess with the check in iPad was in the front, so I walked up to her to show her that I had checked in already on Yelp and needed to check in with her next. She looked at my phone, and looked at me, and rudely said, "Ok... What is this?" I told her that it was Yelp and that I had checked in on there to be put in line. She shrugged me off and was like, "Your name?" I told her, and that was it. Nothing about our wait, no enjoy some coffee while you wait, nothing. Very offsetting. We waited an additional 15 minutes or so before we were seated. We had the nicest waitress, which made the experience a lot better than we started. She greeted us quickly, took our orders, and made sure we had everything we needed. Hot coffee. Fresh creamers (and I need to mention they had Pumpkin Pie Spice creamer!) Everything. My boyfriend and I both ordered the Avocado Toast, which is a favorite of mine. It's a filling, hearty breakfast choice. I love it so much. If we are in the area, I think we would definitely stop again. I hope we would have a better check in experience, as I never need to worry about the food. It's oh so good. read more

Rude and unkind management. Simply put I placed a pick up order on Uber Eats which my dad went to get. The order was right there with my name but they refused to give it to him bc it was an Uber order that said it was being delivered, not picked up, some error. They proceed to open and pull out all our food, not just the containers but opening containers as well while my dad shows them the screenshot of the order being ready for pick up on our end. I called the restaurant myself to tell them I'm the name on the order, when I spoke to the manager he says they went ahead and gave my dad the order but I asked why this was such an ordeal, he, rather shortly, says it was a delivery order on their ended, offered no apology, and hung up on me before I could finish my sentence. This isn't the first time I've had a bad experience here either with their service. There's another one 15 minutes away in lake Mary that's amazing. read more

It's a smaller place that is very casual and there was a long line when we went. I got the pot roast breakfast with eggs on top and fruit on the side... soooo good!! One thing I really love about First Watch is that they have lots of healthier options, such as chicken quinoa and carrot and spinach-based juices. A lot of people really love First Watch. I've always thought it was just OK and that the food quality didn't justify the lines. What I do like is that First Watch has an entire section of healthier alternatives. I had the Power Wrap which has a nice balance of Swiss cheese, turkey and spinach in a sun dried tomato wrap. The wrap came with a salsa dipping sauce which had just a hint of heat. It also came with a side of fresh fruit. All in all it was a small entree for its $9. I also like that the servers bring your table a pot of coffee right away and leaves it there. Our large group got carafes of coffee and pitchers of water. Our server did a good job dealing with our group and our separate checks. This First Watch is rather small and narrow. It is located in the Publix shopping plaza on 434 and Wekiva Springs. read more

So I decided I was going to be fair and give this place two stars. I have good and bad comments so since bad comments are way more fun, let's start with that! From what I could guess someone had dumped a whole bunch of pancake syrup all over the table and instead of cleaning the table first, they seated us and THEN decided to clean up. After the shenanigans, the waitress took our order and took off to get our drinks. We didn't order anything complex: I ordered an unsweetened tea, my fiance ordered a diet soda and my mom ordered a coffee. For some reason though it took over 20 minutes just to get drinks. That irked me. I ordered the Power Wrap which includes: egg whites, turkey, spinach, house-roasted Crimini mushrooms and Swiss in a sun-dried tomato-basil tortilla. Also served with fresh fruit and a side of housemade salsa. The wrap was AWESOME. It was perfectly done and the salsa tasted freshly made. I love any time I can dip my food in stuff. HOWEVER there was a cloud over my day. The fruit. Seriously, how can you mess up fruit? I was about to put it in my mouth and my fiance knocked it out of my hand fork and all. He works in produce and he told me everything (save the grapes) in the cup was bad and would make me sick. I told our waitress the fruit wasn't good and she shrugged and said she would take it back. Didn't offer to get me a new one or apologize at all. It bothers me when someone cares so little about the product they represent that they just shrug off any problems. Omelets are delish and can be made with all eggs or some egg whites, no upcharge which is not typical for egg whites. If you see the Pumpkin pancakes on their season fall menu, get them, they are awesome. Their blueberry pancakes have fresh blueberries in them and a blueberry compote for the top. Try them with some added granola. OMG. Sandwiches and salads are primary meat based for protein, nice white meat chicken is used for most of their entree salads. Coffee is good. I had the veracruzana burrito with potatoes on the side and a bowl of fruit and everything on the plate was pretty good special the burrito, it was wrapped in a tortilla and stuffed with eggs and two kinds of cheese plus it had sour cream and a sauce in top of it. The portion part of it was decent for the price but i think for 8 bucks i could of gotten a little bit more. I always get the country hash skillet (I think that's what it's called) that comes with potatoes, cheese, bacon, avocado, sundried tomatoes, grilled onions, and eggs however you want them.
