I felt that way when I told the waitress about it because I was really looking forward to the yolk spilling out over the rest of the sandwich. I just wanted another egg, but she brought the whole dish back with a new sandwich. The sad part was that the egg was cooked all the way through again. NO! The waitress figured it out, but I said it was fine and just ate it. I can't waste perfectly good food, even if it wasn't to my preference. I know it's probably just a rookie mistake and I bet if I go again, it won't happen again. The service was mediocre when I went especially for it being my first time. I didn't really know what their specialties were but I figured it out. I got the Chroizo Omelet and it was wonderful. I sprinkled a tad bit of salt to bring out the flavors but other than that it was hot and delicious. The bread that comes with their omelets and probably other dishes as well, was some of the best bread I ever tasted! Warm, moist and full of flavor. I opted for the seasoned potatoes instead of the mixed greens and I was very satisfied. They were crunchy when necessary and seasoned well. If you just want some bacon and eggs - first watch has it. Indulgent French toast? It's there. Something on the healthier side? They've got that too! I love the variety but I also admit it's hard to stray from my favorites because they're just SO GOOD. My usual go-to's: avocado toast with eggs (and I ask for a side of pico), the AM superfoods bowl, Belgian waffle with extra fruit, or one of the traditional breakfasts (traditional or trifecta). My husband loves their French toast and usually orders a side of potatoes/sausage. Their coffee is fabulous, as well as any of their fresh juices. I always get a to-go cup to bring some more coffee with me when I leave. Pro tip - go to their website and "get in line" on the waitlist so when you get there, the wait is minimal! We do it every time and usually only have to wait 5-10 min by the time we get there. At the recommendation of one of my local friends, I drove 2 1/2 hours in interstate construction hell to have brunch here. Yes, that trip was what I imagine purgatory to be; however, I would do it again to have another incredible brunch at First Watch. From the moment you walk in, you are very taken care of by every single person that works there. They held the door open for me and immediately started asking how they could best accommodate my stay. I was so overwhelmed by the hospitality and positive vibes. I got an iced coffee, and it was outta this world delicious. It wasn't too creamy and watered down with half and half, but it also wasn't just a cup of black dirt water with ice. They hit the sweet spot, literally. The traditional breakfast was also very good. It was a great amount of mouth watering breakfast food for a decent price. I like my bacon crispy, and they know about crispy. The potatoes were also devoured in seconds. After a big weekend of moving to this area, my boyfriend and I were super excited to try this brunch place! I have heard good things through the grapevine about this place, and boy, were they right! We went on a Saturday morning, which wasn't too busy (which was super nice, since we passed by on Sunday morning and it was jamming). It goes for a sort of "homestyle kitchen" sort of feel, with lots of big open windows for natural lighting. We first ordered a cup of coffee, which was very pleased with! I am usually not picky about my coffee, but I have to say, this was a nice cup of joe! My boyfriend ordered one of their juices from their fresh juice bar (Cucumber Melon) and they weren't kidding when they say it's fresh! Very unique taste, but you can tell that it was freshly squeezed! As for our food, I ordered the Eggs Benedict, classical style (they offer other options too, like a Florentine version, and I believe an all Veggie version. Super cool to have options for a classic dish!) with a side of potatoes (could have used a bit more salt, but delicious overall!). The boyfriend got the Sausage Biscuit and Gravy, with an Over Easy Egg and some Potatoes. Both meals were perfect in size, and the flavors were great! I was very pleased with my Eggs Benedict, for the egg was poached perfectly and the Hollandaise sauce was awesome! My boyfriend loved the gravy, and wished he could had more! The Drink: No Ice Coffee this time, I choose regular coffee and wouldn't you know they bring you your own pot for that one person! I think I would come back just alone for the coffee it was so good. First Watch is one of my very favorite restaurants. I first discovered them in Florence, Kentucky, but was very excited to find them in Louisville, closer to where I actually live. I feel that I'm eating quality food at First Watch. My favorite dish is the Avocado Toast. They incorporate avocados in a number of their offerings, which is awesome. The Eggs Benedict is good, too. My wife usually gets the Trifecta. My only complaint is a lack of available Tabasco. I try to remember to bring my own; but today, I forgot. The Cholula they have on the table is adequate, but I simply cannot imagine a world with eggs and no Tabasco. I would give the place 5 stars if not for this glaring oversight :-) read more

I really, really enjoy a good breakfast. Especially when I don't have to make it. I also tend to stay away from places where I have to wait a long period of time to be seated. busy is a good thing, but can be an easy set up for disappointments. With that said, my husband and I went on a Friday morning around 9:30. No wait, sat right down. Woohoo! The only thing that took awhile was trying to figure out what to get! Everything looked great: from the "as big as the moon" pancakes (yes they're huge!), to the avocado toast, to the power bowls. We ended up sharing a blueberry pancake and ordering the market hash (FANTASTIC) and the breakfast scrambler (delicious!) Our waitress was really nice and accommodating to our indecisiveness. Made my first visit out to First Watch on Hurstbourne, and it was highly enjoyable. I had been to one in another city and had hoped the local edition would live up to that standard. It did. This is a very clean place, tastefully understated in its design. The focus on the menu is supposed to be fresh ingredients and there are several healthy options. But it was Sunday morning brunch for me, so who wants to be healthy? I had the breakfast scramble, which consisted of eggs, ham, zucchini and cheese over top toast, with potatoes and fruit on the side. All of it was delicious and perfectly made. And unlike some other breakfast joints in town, where such a dish would set you back $12-$15, this was reasonably priced at under $10 for a large plate of food. Very nice. I also got a take-home chocolate muffin for the wife, who reported that it was tasty. Had a minor setback with the wifi when I first got there (I had work to do, and it really bugs me when places don't have their wifi working). But after conferring with the waitress, the restaurant reset it and everything was just fine after that. Been to each one in the area and always order the same thing. Each stop does a great Monterey club sandwich. A delicious mixture of different ingredients. One my most recent trip I learned the club comes with soup on the side for the same price. So I ordered the tomato basil, absolutely delicious. Loved every sip of it. The sandwich is large so I typically get the pick two, the club and the Cobb salad (which is essentially the club in salad form). The pick two is great, a little pricey. So the club with soup was perfect amount of food and saved half the sandwich for later in the day. Really enjoy the atmosphere, always great lighting in the dinning room and decor is eclectically kitchen.
