We initially chose it thinking "oh it's v day, people will want to do something nicer than TRH". WRONG. Told a 3 hour wait and we shuffled over to the Olive Garden. Well, this year, I was smart. I went online weeks prior to make a reservation, only to find out that they don't take reservations--only a waitlist. So I plotted. I told myself that I'd start looking at the waitlist starting at 2p for Valentine's Day I kid you not, by 330p, the waitlist was already at 1.25 hours. 30 min later at 4p, the waitlist was at 2hrs. Perfect. 6pm dinner sounds great! We arrived and they seated us within 2 minutes. Our waiter came promptly and checked on us so many times. Salads came out literally within a minute of us ordering. Entrees took five minutes. A wait staff stood there and waited for us to cut into our steaks to ensure that it was to our liking. And we pay at the table on a machine on our own time. We got in and out in 30 minutes. Whoever is the manger/GM know how to manage. Kudos to them for an insanely smooth holiday dinner. Also... a chain restaurant having an almost 4 star review is insane--but now I understand.

I usually have bacon, because theirs is so good, but opted for sausage as our server said the gravy had little sausage, when I asked. Now here's where it gets disappointing. My biscuits, which were huge, had very little gravy, but I didn't get a chance to find out just how little until I moved the tops over to the side, by which time our server had already left. I had finished my eggs, which were perfect, hoping she would return and I could ask for more gravy, but she never made eye contact the two times she passed our table. When she did stop by to ask if we wanted more coffee, she walked away as soon as my wife said no thank you. I started to ask for the gravy, but as soon as she heard the word "no", she was off without a backward glance. When she passed back by, I tried to make eye contact, but she kept her gaze foward and wouldn't look my way. As this is one of my favorite places, I will definitely return, but ask for a different server if seated at this ones table.

I don't really care for remoulade sauce so I'd have removed it had I known it came with the dish. It really overpowered the goat cheese taste in the grits. The tomatoes were very al dente and I would have preferred them cooked a bit more. The dish was still good but my least favorite and I would normally love anything with those ingredients and fried green tomatoes are a favorite so the remoulade (or whatever it was) sauce was a real problem for me. I would definitely get them again without the sauce because they are great otherwise. But that sauce just overpowers every other flavor! I got the chicken tender dinner and others in my party got the bone in fried chicken. Everyone liked their chicken. The tenders were a big size. 4 of them but I hit 2 meals out of them. Drinks didn't arrive until after we had already finished eating, and despite the restaurant being relatively slow, nobody seemed remotely concerned. No urgency or communication. Just a normal day for them, I guess. A kitchen can only carry a restaurant so far when the front-of-house operates with this little care for hospitality. The atmosphere gives the impression of a place that wants to feel polished and upscale, but the service felt lazy and disconnected from the guest experience. Mistakes happen in restaurants. What matters is whether the staff notices and cares enough to fix them. We left wondering how a restaurant with food this solid has become comfortable delivering service this poor.

The Potatoes: Apparently, potato portions are determined by a lottery system. I received about half the amount of the person next to me. Maybe I didn't look hungry enough? The Eggs: My over-easy eggs had crispy, hard edges and arrived at a temperature I'd describe as "lukewarm at best." We also had to hunt down salt and pepper like we were on a scavenger hunt. Honestly, I probably should have just hit the buffet and cut out the middleman. The Service Our server was perfectly nice, but he appeared to be roughly twelve years old. Since he wasn't legally old enough to understand the complexity of a craft cocktail, he couldn't give us any info on the drink menu. We just had to "go with our gut"--which is a dangerous game when tequila and cold brew are involved. The Verdict I'm not saying I won't be back, but consider this a fair warning: if Round 2 involves another charred steak and a side of "room temperature" eggs, I'll be sending it back for a rerun faster than a shanked drive into the woods. 3/5 Stars -- Great for people-watching, questionable for potato-equity.

Boxes that are big enough for the full sandwich and a full order of fries. Snagged a beer while I waited and didn't even make it all the way through before the bartender showed up with our to-go order. Then speaking of Ambiance... we got to sit in my awesome living room and wolf down burgers and a steak salad while watching the movie of choice for the night. I ALWAYS get their amazing tots that are perfectly seasoned and crispy, but my coworkers upgraded to the massive onion rings. Between the large 1/2lb burger (cooked perfectly!) and sides none of us could completely finish our plates! I have never had a bad dish at either location. Our server, Chastity, was super nice and helpful and explained everything for the first timers in our group. She and Hailey do a great job and we are looking forward to trying another special! Next time I will take pictures before inhaling the top notch food! The only downside is the place is noisy, since the ceiling is wide open. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger with garlic aioli, and it hit the spot. The burger was tender and juicy, the mushrooms were perfectly seasoned, and the bun was toasted (always a nice bonus).
