I've been to most First Watch restaurants in the Triangle-some are hit and some are miss. This was a miss. 4 of us sat down and didn't get waited on for 15 minutes-while watching others coming in after us get service. We finally ordered and one persons in our party food came out. A person that was delivering food dropped it off and I was like "where are our drinks?" Seriously-another 20 minutes waiting-and one of our party gets her food and none of us have drinks. Then another ten minutes go by and we get our drinks and part of our food. No one came to check on us until the end. $90.00 for 4 people and it was the worst service I have ever seen-and it wasn't even busy. If the food had been good it would have been worth it (maybe?) but the whole experience was horrible. It's too bad because I live in Brier Creek and won't step foot in here again. I absolutely love the food at this place. I've went here several times and it's always delicious. The hardest thing about coming here is probably being able to narrow down what you want from the menu because there are so many different options. The coffee is a little expensive for it to just be regular coffee and some of the menu items are a bit pricey for the amount of food you get, which is the reason for four stars instead of five. Also, there is no alcohol here, which makes it hard to go to brunch with no mimosa or Bloody Mary. The wait isn't long, if there is a wait, and I've only been there once when waiters and waitresses weren't fairly quick. read more

My family and I enjoyed our recent breakfast experience at First Watch in Raleigh, NC. Entering the restaurant about brunch time on a Sunday morning, we stood at the hostess stand for a while before anyone noticed we were waiting to be sat, [It was busy]. Finally, a hostess came over and after determining the size of our party [which was three] mentioned the wait would be between 20 to 30 minutes before being seated in the dining room. We had the option to seat outside but it was a wee bit chilly and windy for our liking. After 25 minutes, the hostess called our names and guided us to our table. She then placed the menus in front of us and informed us that our server would be with us shortly. Our server came to the table and welcomed us to the restaurant. She was friendly and hospitable. She was smiling. She took our beverage orders. I had the Pomegranate Pear Punch and in this drink, the ingredients are pomegranate, pear, cane sugar and lime. With the cold season coming upon us and the flu season, I decided to add a boost of wellness shots to my drink. The boost has vitamins B3, C & D, Zinc, Echinacea & Elderberry. Great blend with my Pomegranate Pear Punch and I have added the boost to my Morning Meditation Fresh Juice. For my meal, I had my usual Blueberry Pancakes and A.M. Superfoods Bowl. Food was served in good fashion. The Blueberry Pancakes were very big and loaded with blueberries, served with warm syrup. My A.M. Superfoods Bowl looked appetising and it was delicious. Everyone else at the table was pleased with their food and drink selection. Our server, once again was friendly and kept our water glasses full and did well to insure our satisfaction. She helped make this a very good brunch experience. We recommend First Watch and look forward to more visits to try many of the interesting menu combinations. A review of their most recent health inspection showed they scored a 91 which shows they are doing a good job with food sanitation standards. read more

This is a nice staple for a good brunch experience. I got the smoked salmon frittata, while my friends got the French toast and smoked salmon eggs Benedict. Food was great and good portion sizes, but I had to take off one star since my friend asked for egg whites but didn't get what he asked for, and we had to ask for more water several times before we got it, but he did enjoy his eggs Benedict as it was still delicious. I am definitely coming back here again as I do love their food! I also like how we pay up front after our meal so that we don't feel rushed to leave either. The food was decent nothing amazing. They brought out my food like 5 minutes before my friends. That's annoying because you sit there watching your food get cold waiting for theirs to come. After we got our food our server asked how our food was, left the checks and never came back. I got a pancake meal and wanted to add an extra pancake. I never thought I would be charged $6+ like I'm getting a whole extra meal for one pancake. I wanted to ask my server about it but she never came back to check on us after dropping the bill. Then you walk to a checkout counter and pay there with an automatic tip options. I don't want to tip $4 when you overcharged me, never refilled my water, dropped off the bill and basically never came back. I absolutely hate leaving bad reviews but this was my first experience ordering ubereats from First Watch based on their decent reviews. I decided to order something off their summer menu. Looked good in the picture but once I received it from my driver I noticed all my yolk was in the corner of my plate. I wanted my egg over-medium. Once I got to the middle of my bowl I noticed the egg was slimy and undercooked from my request. The brisket was burnt and chewy. The potatoes tasted stale. I live fairly close to first watch so I considered maybe it was a traveling issue but there's no reason my food should be as cold as it was when it arrived. For a first time experience I'm definitely disappointed. May try it again but this time in the restaurant and hopefully it's better than this experience... read more

The aroma of the food just made your mouth hunger for a taste but unfortunately I honestly cannot give a 5 stars rating but will give 4 stars. On both dishes our food was over cooked as we asked for over easy eggs. They did make new ones but yet the second ones were also over cooked. Our waitress, Nydiyah, over heard and brought over perfect over easy eggs & the avocado that the kitchen forgot to place on my plate. I had the farmhouse hash skillet dish which was very favorable; sister had the elote Mexican hash that she too loved but with over easy eggs. A serious disappointment. My wife and I were craving brunch food so we decided to give First Watch a try at about 9:50AM. Restaurant was largely deserted, with perhaps 80% of the tables empty, but we were promptly escorted to the extreme back corner, where service goes to die. We ordered the Barbacoa Chilaquiles Breakfast Bowl (without scallions), the Blackberry Lemon Cream French Toast, and a side of potatoes. We received the entrees promptly, but the Barbacoa Bowl had scallions, so the server took back the plate. It returned a minute later sans scallions - they'd opted to pick off the scallions rather than remake the dish. Needless to say, there were still scallions in it. The "Seasoned braised beef barbacoa tossed with Cheddar and Monterey Jack, salsa roja and crispy corn tortilla chips" is in fact about the same as bowling alley nachos. The dish was also missing the "housemade pico de gallo" entirely. The Blackberry Lemon Cream French Toast was tepid, with apparently unwashed blackberries (there was actually a leaf and stem on one of the berries). The lemon cream is oversweet and basically masks any other flavors in the dish. After perhaps twenty minutes we are finished with the entrees. No servers have been by since we received the Barbacoa Bowl back. At this point the potatoes arrive with the check. This is just a peeled and diced potato that's been griddled. No seasoning to speak of, and half burnt and half undercooked. Never again. read more

I came here with some friends after a gym class yesterday, as it is conveniently located two doors down from our gym. We wanted to sit outside because it was a beautiful afternoon, but for some reason they weren't seating the patio. Unsure why. We got a booth inside instead. The ambiance is casual but it's fairly spacious and bright inside. As far as the service, we didn't have someone come to our table for over ten minutes, so one of our friends got up to get them. I was in the service industry for a very long time so I understand it can be busy, but ten minutes? However, a waitress came over & apologized and let us know she would be helping us, and she was very kind and attentive!! We started with juices, I opted for the a blueberry and grape fresh juice and it was delicious! I forget the name, oops! As far as my meal, I went with an open faced chicken salad melt on grilled whole grain artisan bread. This is topped with melted cheese and tomatoes! I love a good chicken salad and this was delicious! For your side, you can choose potatoes or fresh greens. The potatoes were seasoned well but nothing too special! Not bad though! I've stopped getting takeout from this location. The food is consistently sub-par. My order is regularly wrong or missing an item. Last time i went I let the hostess know I was there for pick up. She stated it wasn't ready yet. After sitting there for 15 minutes, I ask about my order again. The hostess then turns around and grabs it from the shelf. It was just sitting there getting cold. I came to First Watch after trying out a class at Orange Theory, which is conveniently located next door to the restaurant. We waited about 25 minutes for a table for 2 at 9:30am on a Saturday morning...didn't realize people in Durham woke up early for Saturday breakfast! Everything looked appealing on the menu after a hard workout, especially the specials of the day. I was really craving chorizo and ordered the chile chorizo omelette with chorizo, avocado, green chiles, onions, and cheese. The pico de gallo on the side was a refreshing touch. The omelette was delicious, but what really won me over was actually the thick slices of toasted and buttered whole-grain bread slices and the seasoned potatoes. I was disappointed that the menu lacked hash browns, but their potatoes fully made up for it. My friend ordered the super seed protein pancakes which looked SO FLUFFY and healthy after our morning workout. They're made with oats, cottage cheese, sunflower seeds, flax, chia seeds, and then topped with bananas, blueberries, maple-almond butter. Basically high protein/antioxidant/fiber hidden inside fluffy unassuming pancakes. I totally want to try these next time. read more

I had the opportunity to experience the relatively new First Watch in Brier Creek today. I was excited, having heard about the new menu with several really exciting new dishes. The place was not busy, and they placed me as I desired far from anyone else. Maybe because I was so far out of the way, but it took over 10 minutes before a waitress came over, and then only to tell me she'd come back soon. It wasn't soon. On the positive side, the food came out extremely quickly! Though I was still wearing my mask at the time, the scent was strong and appetizing. Unfortunately this was because it was so heavily doused in garlic that little else could come through. It was a very intriguing mushroom hash, with two types of exotic mushrooms, cheese, arugula, and eggs over a bed of potatoes. Unfortunately it mainly tasted of garlic. I really like garlic but this was overpowering. I could barely taste the mushrooms, I could barely taste the cheese, and forget about the eggs. After I finished eating I got to wait another 20 minutes for my bill (even to get the credit card back was a long wait). If the place were busy I'd kind of understand the wait. I feel badly for restaurants that are having a hard time hiring people, but the number of servers, though small, was enough for the low volume at the time I was there. Thus, this poor service is still ridiculous. Perhaps in a few months they'll figure out what they're doing there, but for now I would recommend staying away (unless you bring a book and don't mind long waits and lots of garlic). read more

I know better than to trust a restaurant that's main thing is serving $12 eggs, but I was there for a meetup and forced to dine here. First off all, our waitress was not attentive at all. It was on a lunch break, so I expected faster service, but it took a half hour for her to even take our food orders with long gaps of her checking on us and bringing us check. She didn't even reappear for me to ask for a box so I had to go to front and locate one. Everything on the menu was standard breakfast stuff I could make at home, or weird middle aged woman options like salad with cranberries. So the best option I could find was the "chickenchanga." On paper, it sounds like a chimichanga with eggs (meat and eggs wrapped in a flour tortilla). What I got instead, was a small omelet with some meat inside topped with an odd yellow cream sauce, weak soft potatoes, and melons. I asked the waitress if it was supposed to be that way since the description said tortilla and she just said it was always that way. Not wanting to make a scene in front of the group, I let it go. But I left home pretty pissed that I had spent so much money on a weaker version of something I could and do make for breakfast and I still left hungry. I don't generally write bad reviews online, but then rarely do I end up feeling like I squandered my precious time on this earth as a customer. My husband had even reminded me that he has no intention of ever visiting here again since our last service experience at this particular First Watch (@Brier Creek) was about as enjoyable as a bumpy airport shuttle ride. But hey, it had been a year, so my friend and I agreed to meet at this particular First Watch for lunch. I arrived 5 minutes ahead of my friend and approached the hostess stand. Next time I need to cut in line at a snack bar or airport security, I'll be sure to *bring the invisibility cloak* I didn't know I possessed. The two young women standing 3 feet in front of me acted as if I was a puff of stale air, refusing to acknowledge me with a look, word, or whatever for about 2 minutes. Finally, I rearranged my molecules/took off my cloak so I could materialize, and I got "Just a second," and, after she seated another party, the hostess waitlisted me. Luckily, it was a short wait, and my friend arrived on time. The service got off to a good start, our server taking our orders pretty quickly, only to go badly wrong within minutes. My friend's napkin had spinach on it from who knows where. At least, we HOPED it was spinach. We NICELY asked for decaf coffee and a clean napkin. A pot was brought out, cold as Greenland. We again NICELY asked for a fresh napkin and coffee that was at least passed as warm. Fifteen minutes went by, and my friend began using a tissue from my purse for her fingers. Another 10 minutes passed, and we got word that apparently, the restaurant lacked the ability to produce *warm* decaf coffee (?). We said, um, forget the coffee. By then, we'd been there 40 minutes sans napkin and sans warm decaf, and we were ready to just go to my house where hot coffee takes place daily, easy as pie, with clean napkins. But where's our server? We look, we scan... Ten more minutes went by, and we decided to just check ourselves out... oh, there's our server at the register with another employee. They're having a long, lovely catch-up at the register with someone else. Tick-tock, tick-tock. FINALLY, we are acknowledged. That darned invisibility cloak again. My friend and I ask to split the check, and we very nicely suggest that the cold, undrunk coffee come off our check. Oooo, we got a very frosty glance that said, "So, that's how you Karens want to play." No apology, no nothing. I think my friend tipped $0. I tipped a dollar because I used to wait tables, and I'm a soft touch. I get it, they are always super busy here Saturday morning, aaaannnd they don't need my business, so... problem solved. I'll stay away. make myself delicious avocado toast at home, enjoy HOT coffee with or without caffeine, and not burden anyone with my need for clean napkins or greetings. Meanwhile, I can't wait to try out my invisibility cloak for stalking Pedro Pascal on the red carpet and/or treating myself to all the Sephora goodies I can fit in the pockets of my magical invisibility garment. read more
