First Watch is fantastic! Finally came here for the very first time with my sister and I can't wait to come back. We arrived at 7:30am and got seated right away, but the place was already starting to get busy ...so def recommend getting here early esp on the weekends. They have a great menu selection and it was hard to choose from since I wanted to try everything lol, but I ended up getting the Trifecta with their Belgian waffle and pork sausage. Their Belgian waffle ...so airy and crispy ...the texture was similar to a funnel cake, yum! I also recommend their Kale Tonic juice ...so refreshing! Waited over an hour for a table. We had checked in and were told 45 mins. We sat outside on the patio and were never called or messaged. It was delicious, tender meat, fresh toppings. Was expecting a bit more of the toppings, it said topped with corn salsa and if there was one spoonful, I'd be surprised. All of the flavors mixed for a very good Brunch meal. We ordered the Million Dollar Potatos for a starter. They were ok, I like my potatos crispy, and they weren't. The flavor was really covered up by the other food. I didn't taste ten Parmesan until my quesadilla taste faded away. Wifey got more of a standard breakfast of waffle, eggs and bacon. She said they were good. Overall, will definitely give it another shot. The menu had more tasty options worth a visit for. The location was convenient for shopping if there's a long wait. Some of my esteemed colleagues from out of town recently visited my area for work and wanted to meet up with them for breakfast. With them being my guests, I told them to tell me when and where to meet them. First Watch in Round Rock was the recommendation. I arrived around 8:30 a.m. and waited. It was during the week, so there were not many cars in the parking lot. I walked in, and was seated right away by a nice lady (sorry, I did not catch her name). I ordered a beverage and perused the menu. The menu had a lot dishes that looked delicious. My eyes were in sensory overload, and the choice was hard. Lucky I had plenty of time to decide while I waited for my folks to show up. I was looking forward to seeing my colleagues, as some I've not seen for almost 20 years. The anticipation for great food and great company were high. My coworkers arrived shortly thereafter. After some small talk, they perused the menu and we all placed our orders. I decided to stick to the basics and try the staples this time. The next visit I plan on diving into a more daring dish and mix it up. A lot of the dishes have interesting twists on some of the breakfast dishes that look good. There was also a lot of healthy dishes for my vegan friend that was in attendance. I ordered The Traditional breakfast. Two eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, and toast. I got the eggs scrambled, substituted regular bacon for the Million Dollar, and white toast. The Million Dollar Bacon intrigued me and looked pretty legit. Four pieces of bacon glazed with brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne, and a drizzle of maple syrup. After some delightful chatter with my buddies, our food arrived in good time. Every dish on the table was presented picture perfect, and my plate looked very good. All of the conversation halted, and we all jumped right in to our plates. My plate was very delicious. Not one complaint. The Million Dollar bacon was off the chain delicious and very tasty. For anyone who loves bacon, this upgrade is a must. I did take a moment to waft the aroma of the bacon toward my vegan friend who sat next to me. She was not amused. I was though, as were my colleagues. After we consumed our dishes we finished up our conversations and paid our bill. The food was excellent, the fellowship was amazing as well as overdue, and the service was great. Our waitress was very friendly, accommodating, and kept all of our glasses full at all time. Not one single complaint from this visit. If you are ever in Round Rock, I highly recommend this place. I will be back, and I look forward to trying another dish very soon. It has coffee, coconut rum, oat milk and agave nectar with a cinnamon stick garnish. This drink came in a corked glass container that you pour into a glass of ice. The cheesy grits are delicious. We tried the Power Breakfast Quinoa Bowl for something different. The tomatoes were flavorful along with the mushrooms but there weren't very many mushrooms. After nothing but positive experiences at this location for several years, I finally had one I wouldn't recommend to anyone else. If this was the first time I had gone to First Watch I don't think I would ever go back. Everything from the water to the (usually great) coffee tasted funky, stale, and old--it's nice to be given the entire carafe of coffee except when it's an old batch with a weird aftertaste! The real disappointment was the food. First Watch is a "premium" breakfast establishment that charges premium prices, and typically that's okay unless they're serving sub-IHOP quality food. The usually excellent avocado toast, drizzled with olive oil, chives, and seasoned well with lemon and other spices, tasted comparatively flavorless and wasn't plated normally. The toast, poached eggs, and avocado were soggy and cold; the avocado was still majorly chunky and barely, barely mashed. My girlfriend's BLT-E was similarly cold, bland, and soggy compared to usual. Not sure if the kitchen was just having a bad day or if management has changed, but it's very sad to see a typical breakfast staple serve food that pales in comparison to IHOP or Denny's. I used to praise your company speak highly of this Chain BUT TODAY the waiter took my order but failed to bring out my side plates with the million dollar bacon i ordered & when asked to get some he said right away but then he proceeded ttlo take other orders.when he finally brought the plates ,all but one was dirty.I asked to speak to a manager which he never showed up I had to get out from my seat to locate him myself.after locating him I told him how the waiter was handling our service he simply brushed it off with disregard for the customers experience. So I asked him to call the GM & he said ok but again I watched him go up to the GM whisper something to the GM as they both proceeded to laugh amongst each other all while I. Watching, after their chuckles the GM comes to my table to ask what was going on as if he & the other manager just got done laughing at the situation. I highly recommend checking in online if you are going to First Watch, especially on a Sunday. They get very busy, which is what you want in a restaurant. The decor is homey and fun, and the seating is comfortable. I have been eating here for years, and love that their food is customizable. The quinoa power bowl is gluten free, but the Italian sausage that comes in it has fennel which bothers my stomach. They let me substitute bacon for the sausage at no extra charge. They are also the only restaurant I have been to that substitutes gluten-free toast at NO additional charge. Maybe this is because their homemade bread is incredible, I don't know. I do know I appreciate not being charged more to be able to eat something that won't hurt my stomach. The waitstaff are always attentive and quick to grab anything extra for you. First the 1 star is for the lack of attentiveness. It took 10-11 minutes to get coffee after being seated. It took 15 minutes for her to come back around to take me order.
