Wow. Talk about bad. There is a single star for this review and it belongs to the manager. She was apologetic and receptive to our feedback as well as our objective complaints and ultimately comped our meals. First off the wait was as expected , they said about 20 mins and it was . We sat and ordered coffee and the cornbread the advertised in the board and table card, while we looked over the menu. We assumed it was a signature appetizer ,since this was our first visit. The menu appeared to have a lot of good options and we had a couple questions. Shortly after the waitress came back and we asked about the waffles and if they came a little crispy and she said usually they do, but would write a note to ensure it. I was told the breakfast carnitas tostada was popular and it looked fantastic , so I went with that. From here on it was an excruciating experience in anticipation and failures. After , without exaggeration 40 mins we finally saw our waitress again we asked about our food . She apologized and said they just finished a big party and would start to get caught up but that it was still in the works, including the cornbread we'd ordered when we sat down. We let her know we were not interested in the cornbread and if the food wasn't about ready we get it, just let us know and we would be on our way as we didn't want to wait longer. She said ok and left. Next came the cornbread, about 5 mins later. We told This server, not our original one mind you, that we had canceled and she recommended we have some anyway and assured us we would not have to pay, and that the manager would be taking care of it. Nice, but the cornbread sucked. Dry, not even warm enough to melt the scoop of butter on top and nothing to relate it to bacon or cheddar as advertised. Oh well. Another 10 mins and out came the food. The Belgian waffle? Zero crispy edge even though it was ordered to have them and in fact, it was soggy. The tostada, great idea, abysmal execution . I was so excited for the pulled pork carnitas, oozing basted egg and delicious queso , topped with avocado and house made pickled red onions. When it finally arrived, about an hour after we ordered at this point, the queso had already formed a slight skin on it likely because it was not hot. That was unappealing but not a huge deal however, it was a total salt bomb. The pulled pork was soggy , zero texture on the edges and pretty flavorless and there were none of the pickled red onions or avocado in sight. The biggest offense belonged to the egg preparation. The "basted " egg was really , a ridiculously overcooked fried egg that might as well been hard boiled. The blame for all this was "a large party" . Sorry but that does NOT fly when it comes to a long delayed, final product that is carelessly sent out , all because you were busy before you made it. If the food would have been made with any care or consideration for the fact that it was so delayed, would have made little to no difference and we would have likely been back another time. A big issue I have was the fact that the waitress completely checked out on us. It felt like she just didn't want to deal with the fact that we'd been waiting so long in what was , by now a mostly empty restaurant and we never once got rude or confrontational in any way and in fact, the whole time she had to have been aware of the back up she never checked in on us. Offered us a drink, checked if we needed more coffee, nothing. We were disappointed and hungry but it was kind of a joke and a game of , "how much worse can it get" for a while there. I've been to other First Watch locations and loved it! I specifically wanted to go to First Watch since I was visiting the state for the first time in a while. What. A. Letdown. The service was very poor. Our waitress never checked in on us, I know it was busy but we did it get a water refill once. We waited forever for our food, and that was after the long wait to be seated. Again, busy, okay. But the food, I tried the elote breakfast bowl. There was hardly and corn, next to no chorizo and I found about two potatoes with cheese. It was very sad. More potatoes than anything else. Pretty good breakfast and brunch spot. Definitely take the time to check in beforehand or you can have a pretty hefty wait on your hands. That being said, we did take the time and once we checked in were told it should be about 15 mins and she would text when our table was ready. When we waited about 30 without any call or text we went back in to a confused hostess (even though she had talked to me earlier) stating they could seat me right then ‍.Despite the rocky start, our waiter was very nice and the food was tasty. I've been to this place twice in one week which should tell you something. My new favorite brunch spot! Their superfood bowl is un-freaking-believable. Get it whether you have to share it due to the calorie count or splurging cause you deserve it. I also tried the avocado toast, chocolate chip pancake ( stole some off my sons plate) and the belgian waffle. All were beautifully plated and tasted even better then they looked. My new favorite breakfast place. Service was so so great. Food was fantastic! I had the chia pudding and toast with almond butter perfectly paired with a cup of Orange Juice. The chia pudding is a MUST try! Don't knock it till you try it, trust me. It's soooo good. And they do run out of the chia pudding which is what happened to us. They only had enough pudding for one person but the manager was so kind enough to offer to pay for my sisters bill because she didn't get the chia pudding she originally ordered. Service is fantastic and that was very kind and courteous to offer that. Definitely going to be back! They have indoor and outdoor seating as well. Love this place. In the pictures, I had the chia pudding. And behind that is the avocado toast which my sister absolutely loved! And my nephew had the chocolate chip pancakes. Basically I check yelp for reviews of a restaurant before I ever go and this place had 4 stars and so I decided to give it a go and placed a to go order. Well this time I think the yelp reviews were totally WRONG. I placed what I thought would be a simple order of pancakes and sausage. As you can tell by the pic , the pancakes were extremely dry and reminded me more of cornbread than pancakes . They were also lacking any flavor. Literally like eating dry air . Needless to say , I threw the majority of it in the trash because I couldn't stomach it. I also ordered some sausage links (pork) that I asked to be cooked well done , and apparently the cook doesn't know what well done is either because they weren't well done at all . I won't be returning because it's just not worth it. 18$ that was a total waste. First Watch is more like Last Watch for me . I definitely pass on this one , not worth a return visit!! read more

After eating the first bite in my cubicle, I looked down and to my astonishment, I was wearing jean overalls, a flannel shirt, and had on my family's rugged steel toe boots that had been passed down for generations, and had the drive to build a barn all of a sudden. The Farmhouse Hash is the go-to if you're looking for a massive meal that won't leave you feeling sluggish and wanting to crawl back into the hen house. Every ingredient is so fresh you would have thought you grew and picked it yourself. The bacon was so incredible you would have assumed a spider was involved. I would normally give this First Watch location 5 stars, but my experience today was really a 3. My food was luke warm. The potatoes were not freshly made. They tasted more like leftovers reheated. My Belgian waffle should have at least been warm enough to melt the whipped butter on top, it never melted. See photo.The best thing I got today was the coffee which was hot and fresh. I would say that it was just an off day for them, but it has been like that the last couple of times I visited. The server and table busser were super nice and friendly and my experience was ok until I checked out at the register with the manager. Something went wrong with the register, according to the manager. I used apple pay on my phone and I received an alert notifying me that the transaction came through. The bill was $22.23 and I left a $5 tip. The manager said oh you need to re do it because It didn't go through. I explained that I received a confirmation. She then said "you" probably hit something, so I'll just void it and redo it. I was confused and tried to show her that the transaction was actually approved. She kept dismissing me and re-rang the bill. I paid for it and it went through again. Even though she voided the transaction, the mediocre meal and this awkward encounter left a bad taste in my mouth from my usually favorite breakfast/brunch spot :(. Went here a couple of weeks ago after a poor experience trying to get breakfast at another restaurant. We'd been to both of the Troy locations and were pretty happy to have a FW closer to home. To our delight, this one has a BAR. We got cocktails and breakfast--hubby had an omelet and a Bloody Mary, I had farmhouse hash and something with pomegranate, and service was excellent, as was the food and drinks. To be completely fair, this review is from a delivery experience. Since my food never arrived I have no idea how good or bad their food actually is. I ordered delivery because with Covid cases spiking i didnt want my family in the restaurant. Also I wanted to support local businesses. I ordered from their website and Door Dash was supposed to deliver the food. Be aware-if you order that way, be aware the restaurant does NOT care if you get your food, and will NOT respect your driver's time. LOOKING AT YOU, JESSIE. They do NOT put the orders in the order they arrive, they cook and prepare in person orders first. Once they put your food out they don't care who picks it up or if the order goes to the right people. They also won't give your driver an accurate time frame of when the food will be ready. How do I know? I tried to order breakfast via their website (which just redirects to DoorDash) and after two hours of communicating with my driver and me overhearing the hostess tell the poor guy another 15 minutes, I called them myself. I was told by Jessie my order was put out an hour before...same voice I kept hearing say 15 more minutes...so I called my dasher back. He was told by a young lady this time my food wasn't ready and when he pointed out Jessie told me otherwise and my food was gone, they did not care. Disappointed with my last 2 carry outs from this restaurant. I ordered the Chickichanga breakfast to go. The "fruit cup" that was served with it had exactly 2 pieces of fruit....one grape and one piece of honey dew melon. I expect more than 2 pieces of fruit if I'm paying for this. The chickichanga itself was ok but I was disappointed by the filling; more onion than anything. The week after I decided to give it another shot. Ordered the Chile chorizo omelet and again was let down. Filled with mostly onion, 2 pieces of way overripe avocado and barley any chorizo. This came with house potatoes which were great! I was supposed to get artisan toast with it which I was looking forward to the most and they forgot the toast in my order... Again I am paying for something that doesn't live up to the value. There are a couple bright sides to the restaurant. The coffee is delicious and I highly recommend the chicken apple sausage! Overall, those small positives don't outweigh the negatives. I came here with some co-workers because it was right next to the hospital and we were able to squeeze in a quick brunch break together. They were able to seat us quite quickly. The service overall was quite good and they were nice to our group. One of the things I appreciate the most is the quickness of our service as we were on a tight schedule. I got one of their scrambles and it was pretty solid. Overall a good experience and a brunch place that is quite realizable and quick. Horrible service! We came before rush hour around 11:30am ish, joined the waitlist online, checked in in-person and was told it will be 10 minutes for us to get seated. We waited 30 minutes and people who came after us got seated. I check with them again and they told me there are 7 parties before me (literally all of them came after me) and they don't know how long it would take. She also claimed that I didn't checked in-person...When I asked them why they told me the wrong waiting time and why people who came after us got seated before us. Today was my first visit here and the food was not bad, the service was not good though, the waiter that I had made many mistakes and also did not treat my date and I the same way that he treated other customers. He asked many others questions like.. "hows your food?" and "do you need anything else?" He forgot many important details to go with our orders and never even came back to my table to make sure things were going smoothly. I may visit here again someday because it was a pretty busy day but when I do I just hope that the customer service is better than today because the food was enjoyable. August 20, 2023 Visit to First Watch Royal Oak Michigan, At 12:58. We placed a party of 5 in line for seating. Wait time of 30-45 minutes was given We arrived at the location at 1:35. We stood in line to be checked in and waited for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile the hostess skipped the line and walked over to the family and asked if they were waiting for seating. Took our name, stated that she had just texted us. (I received no text) The hostess seated us. Our server came to our table and took our drink order and I told her that we were ready to order our food. She took our order. Farmhouse Skillet, avocado and tomato on the side, egg over medium Kids waffle with bacon, side of potatoes Kids waffle with bacon Side of potatoes Trifecta - eggs over medium, bacon Elevated egg sandwich with scrambled egg 3 Hot Chocolates Our food order went at approximately 1:55. Hot chocolate and drinks were brought to our table. We waited and waited for our food. We did not see our server. At 2:20 my husband got up to check on our food. We were told that we were third in line. At 2:37 our food arrived. Farmhouse skillet was overcooked, Eggs were over hard, avocado was brown and the tomatoes appeared old. Kids Waffle with bacon and a side of potatoes was fine. Kids Waffles with bacon arrived but there was no side of potatoes. Trifecta - eggs were over hard and arrived with sausage instead of bacon Elevated egg sandwich arrived with an egg that was not scrambled, you could clearly see egg white and egg yellow separated. The waitress arrived and there was so much wrong with our meal. Her attitude was one of impatience and irritation. We brought to her attention about the Elevated Egg sandwich and the Trifecta. She took the elevated egg sandwich to her manager who said that the egg was scrambled and she handed the sandwich back to my 11 year old daughter. My daughters love First Watch , this was their choice today. We frequent First Watch for carryout and dine in, so we all know what an Elevated Egg sandwich looks like with a scrambled egg. So I asked to speak to the manager. Although our waitress referred to the manager as a she, a male came to the table. We explained that the egg was not scrambled, we explained that the Trifecta came with sausage and was ordered with bacon, we explained that the eggs were cooked so hard that they looked like toy rubber eggs and were not edible. We also explained that the avocado had dark spots on it. I did not complain about the potatoes, over cooked bacon and old looking cheese on the scramble because there was so much wrong with our food. The gentleman took the sandwich back, agreed our eggs had sat on the grill too long. He explained that that was the best they could do on the avocado. Our waitress returned with an Elevated Egg sandwich with a scrambled egg and two eggs over easy (still not over medium) , no apology. The male server came back and checked on us. We were charged for a side of potatoes that never came, and two sides of eggs. We were charged for the eggs that came with the Trifecta and the Farmhouse skillet. She said that the gentleman told her to charge us for the two sides of eggs so she put them on the bill. We were met at the register by a lady who said nothing to us and our server. I explained that not only should our bill be corrected but it should be discounted for the poor quality food, the poor quality service and the wait time. Our server responded to me, "Everybody had to wait." The other lady who said nothing took the bill and attempted to correct it and gave us $20 brunch bucks. We were still overcharged by the side of potatoes. Our server said that she brought the potatoes. She did not. She said, " well why did you not tell me." At this point I asked her to stop the back and forth with us. We have had a negative experience today and we do not need the back and forth. Her facial expressions continued. The next bill we received was incorrect. I stepped away because I did not want the tension between myself and the server to escalate. My husband paid the bill. We left, as our server looked at us and shook her head and rolled her eyes. No apology from anyone. When I arrived home I looked at the bill. We were overcharged for 2 sides of eggs in the amount of $8.98. After 3 corrected bills from a mute employee, the final bill was still wrong. read more

The million dollar bacon was so good. Besides that, everything else wasn't. I ordered the Florida French Toast along with three other people at my table, and 3 of them were burnt and dry. The bananas on top didn't taste ripe. Only one of the 4 French toasts was cooked perfect. It took a long time for our drinks, and we asked for refills but we're ignored. We asked again and our waitress didn't end up getting water for us. The French toast came with potatoes that were undercooked and underwhelming. The dishes came out at different times, to the point where I finished eating before my friend and her mom got her food. The sides came out much later than our food as well. The service was great from the hostess but awful from the bartenders and servers. We were looked at as an inconvenience from the minute we sat at the bar for mimosas. When we finally got a table to eat the waitress told us "they're going to kick you out" because we weren't ready to order after 5 or 10 minutes. We ended up leaving before ordering food.
