I've eaten at this location twice. The dining area is clean, comfortable and quiet. Yes it can get crowded but it is not cramped by any means. Always has a family gathering vibe. Staff is kind, courteous and considerate. All staff are attentive to the needs of their patrons. The menu offers a variety of options for breakfast and brunch along with some adult spirits that are brunch appropriate. I have had the has skillet but have sampled other dishes that were brought to our table. We're family so we don't mind sharing. I highly recommend first watch for breakfast or brunch. Love this place. Thank God we have one in our neck of the woods [Potranco/1604]. Unlike all the crap options on Potranco, FW has HEALTHY OPTIONS. From the looks of waiting time at the few I've visited, MANY are in dire need of healthier options, aside the oily, poor grade meat everyone else offers. I straight up DEVOURED this whole meal so quickly because it was bomb. I love me some good ol' egg porn. The potatoes were soft on the inside and crispy on the outside and were seasoned so well. Usually, tomatoes aren't my favorite but these were honestly so amazing- I have no clue how they made them like if they seasoned them or grilled them or WHAT but they hit different in the best way. Bacon, cheddar cheese, and roasted onions were also mixed in with the potatoes and just elevated them even more. Chickfila gives WAYYYY better fruit cups than this and they're a lot cheaper. I like to try new places out and this one didn't do it for me. Very awesome breakfast spot. My sissy recommended it. Especially after the face I made when ihop was the suggestion. My husband got the salmon Benedict (wild Alaskan salmon is a must and a plus). The potatoes were great. I liked the pancake it was pretty huge. Mostly everyone else ordered pancakes and sausage. The customer service was very above par. From the moment we were greeted and sat. Jeremy and Maverick were very hospitable. Jeremy accommodated us inside because it started to rain outside. We were immediately greeted by Paul who already had coffee and mugs ready to serve us. While Jeremy was bringing us a freshly cleaned high chair. Our order was placed quickly and food came out at the perfect time. I'm surely going back when I visit SA again. We were there for breakfast a couple weeks ago with our 2 babies and had the sweetest server ever. I wish I remembered her name! I just know she worked a Sunday morning shift. She was just fine with all of my fiancés food accommodations (complicated diet lol) and even came back to check she & the kitchen had it right. The coffee was good. The breakfast was VERY good. My wife got the Bacado omelette with seasoned potatoes. A nice omelette just the right size with cheese bacon and avocado. I got the turkey sausage biscuits and gravy with eggs over easy and seasoned potatoes. Everything tasted fresh ad was cooked perfectly. A little pricey as it was $30, but worth every penny. We downloaded the app so we know to check in before coming; because we will be back. Went back last Sunday and tried checking in using the app. Said that we had a 45 min-hour wait. Went a little earlier and let the hostess know that we were there only to be told that it would be another 30-45 min. What good is the app if it doesn't keep your place in line? The food was delicious, the environment pleasant despite an impressive crowd who came for lunch, Alejandro was kind, appropriately conversational and timely. First Watch Cafe Bandera and Hwy 1604 Arrived at "First Watch Cafe" on October 22, 2019 at about 10:25 a.m. or so. We were promptly seated. My wife ordered one huge multigrain pancake and it was big enough to make 2 1/2 regular pancakes. I tasted of it and it was very good. I ordered the traditional breakfast with two eggs, potatoes, bacon and multi-grain toast. And of course coffee! The coffee was not Starbucks quality but it was good. My eggs were perfectly made over easy, the four pieces of bacon were crisp, the toast was good and the potatoes were good once I removed all the burnt pieces of potatoes and burnt onion. So the food was good and better than average. The one singular hiccup that was common throughout the restaurant staff was a feeling of unfriendliness. Now, our waitress, Brenda, was very friendly and smiled often and was attentive to our requests for more creamer, water, etc.! She was the only Staff smile in the place. Even though she took our order, it was served by a young man who walked slowly, like he was very tired, and who dropped our plates on the table and walked away. No smile and no comment! I noticed that the Staff congregated around the kitchen and were huddled together. Rarely saw anyone come out and try to "Read" their tables or customers to see if they (we) needed anything. When we paid our bill the sleepy cashier (yawning continuously) tried to smile but it was a very weak smile. Hmm! The food was good the service was average but the attitude and atmosphere here were suspect. We will return and find out if it was a one time occurrence. My qualifications as an Expert and Experienced Food and Service Critic; i have a BS in Management and have been trained in two Culinary Schools, to include on the job training at other venues. I've managed full service as well as fast food restaurants and have had my own successful Catering business. As a food service Trainer, I have trained personnel on how to provide superb cuisine and customer service. Not a great experience but not the worst experience we've had dining out. The estimated wait time we were given for our party of 4 was exceeded by 20 minutes. Once we were seated, it took 15 minutes before we were greeted and our order was taken. It took another 45 minutes for us to receive our food. When I got my Trifecta, the waffle was stone cold. When I told the runner, he asked, "Do you want another one?" Why would that even be a question? I've always been taught the answer to my kitchen getting an order wrong is, "I'm going to fix that for you. " my husband's Frittata Rustica came with its salad with completely undressed greens. When he pointed that out to our server, Lauren, she asked, "Do want it on the side?" This despite the fact that the menu clearly says the greens come dressed. Again, the expectation should be that you correct your kitchen's error without asking if you should. One tries to be gracious in this day and time, but that courtesy should be reciprocated. Tasty Brunch Experience. We got the Morning Meditation which was sweet and delicious. We got the Elote Mexican Street Corn Hash which had a great blend of flavors. We got the Barbacoa Breakfast Tacos. The barbacoa was seasoned and cooked nicely, it was pretty good. We got the Banana Foster French Toast. It was tasty and pretty sweet.
