    Avocado toast
    Autumn S.

The love the vibe of this place but my avocado toast was kind of disappointing. The toast wasn't toasted at all and the avocado was bland. My egg was cooked perfectly. The place was extremely busy and our waitress did a good job especially with how busy it was. I got the coffee and it was okay. I've been here before with better food so will return.

Very disappointed with our visit. We love First Watch, and we have been to multiple locations many times. Today was our first time at this location, but since we have trusted the First Watch brand, we didn't have any hesitations. The waiting list feature on the app was seamless, and we were seated right away. Our indoor table was the main problem. They sat us right next to the window with sun hitting us. My husband and I sat on the chairs that got more sun to protect our kids from the bright sun. By the time our food arrived, the harsh sunlight was directly on us and we couldn't even enjoy our food without protecting our eyes from it. The food (steak and eggs, syrup, waffle) wasn't even warm when they served it -- maybe they wanted us to finish cooking the food since we were sitting under the hot sun? When we voiced our concern about the sun, we were told that they'd usually move us to another table but the restaurant was just full. Our server told us that they've had issues with our table before -- so why keep that table open? It was supposed to be a peaceful Sunday brunch for our family, but instead we left frustrated and our kids were very uncomfortable from the sun. I voiced out my concern when I checked out and I got the same half hearted apologies. Please don't ever have anyone sit on that table when the sun hits it like that again. Oh, and the high chair my son was on had loose screws. That's a dangerous hazard.

Found our new favorite SA breakfast joint. Heck yeah! Located Inside a strip mall with plenty of parking. Luckily we put ourselves on the waiting list via their website. If not, the wait time was an hour at 11:00 am with walk up. Decor was basic. But, what was cool is they have two community tables for those who don't mind sitting with strangers. Food was amazing! A must visit for those who have never been.

We love going to First Watch because the food is always consistent and the experience is reliable. On our recent visit, I ordered the Tres Leches French Toast. It was good, but I do wish it had been a bit more milky, as it leaned a little on the dry side. On the other hand, the Million Dollar Bacon was an absolute hit. It's always perfectly sweet, savory, and a must-order every time. Another thing I really appreciate is their waitlist option. It's such a lifesaver, especially if you have a little one. Overall, First Watch continues to be one of our go-to spots for a solid breakfast or brunch.

Food is ALWAYS great AND filling! Ambiance is cozy and busy with laughter in the air: Great place for family outings, breakfast dates, friend catch ups! Service is very slow! I would have given 4 stars but Casey saved the day! She felt our frustration and just made everything better and was very attentive to us!

First Watch is my first choice for breakfast and brunch. The food is always good. I love the multigrain pancakes, million doller bacon and potatoes. They have a lot of seating options from 2 person tables to 10 person tables. And their decor gives the place a rustic homemade feel. My server, Karissa was amazing. She was quick to check up on everything and make sure I was enjoying my food. I'll definitely come back.

Maple Bacon Croissant Sandwich...if only photos came with smells...irresistible!

This morning I went to First Watch on Blanco. I feel like this is my favorite spot! Right now First Watch is falling with flavor! I've tried multiple things off the menu and have been delighted every single time. Today I had their Maple Bacon Croissant sandwich. Wow! When my waitress Ashley approached my table the smell greeted me. I took my first bite with the jalapeño on just to experience the full flavor. My eyes rolled back in my head from the perfect pairing of sweet and savory. I removed the jalapeño because it was a bit much for me. Every bite was as good as the first bite...maybe better. I love the helpful and thoughtful staff at this spot. I enjoyed the space of a booth and was able to freely eat and casually sketch. First Watch is a great way to get the day rolling. Fresh coffee, fresh hearty food, and amazing service await you. Enjoy!

Pesto Chicken Quinoa and Kale Tonic
    Bianca L.

Came in on a holiday Monday and only had to wait 5 minutes for 920 am for party of two. Got my go-to pesto chicken quinoa (I do think compared to a year ago, the serving portion has gone down) but totally understand, because the flavor is still there! Love the blend of tomatoes, pesto, kale and chicken! The kids meal is the one my son always enjoys, he gets this huge chocolate chip pancake (which the table can share). This location in particular has multiple servers that check in and everyone seems to work hand in hand! Overall great experience! Dont forget to check in online ahead of time so you dont have to wait too long!

Classic Eggs Benedict with no tomato
    Christine J.

Came get for breakfast and it was amazing! I ordered the Classic Eggs Benedict but minus the tomato (I know not typical for a classic eggs benny) with a side of the Million Dollar Potatoes. The hollandaise sauce was perfectly creamy. Eggs poached beautifully. At first I wasn't sure about the lemon dressed greens as the side but I delightedly surprised at how well it really did pair. It's a rich breakfast so the lemon dressed greens lightened it up. That will be a new go to with this breakfast for sure. I loved the potatoes well. My wife got the Market Hash and it was soooo tasty. The goat cheese was creamy and added a delightful slight tang. The staff were fantastic and very friendly. I thought it was really cool that the table gets a carafe of coffee.

Not really a breakfast person but we were up early so we decided let's go get some breakfast. When we got there, there's only a few people inside as we were enjoying our meal. It started to get packed, which is always a good sign that that means people like to eat at these restaurants. Definitely has that breakfast vibe in there and they had it decorated for Halloween. The waiter was super cool very helpful when it came to helping us with the menu when I do eat breakfast at a restaurant I do like to always get eggs Benedict. So I got the classic Benedict which they add tomato to it. I'm not a big tomato fan, but I ate it with tomatoes on it was still really good. I added the billion dollar potatoes to it. Which has bacon Parmesan cream sauce with fresh herbs. I got my son chocolate chip pancake. My wife ordered a honey caramel crunch iced coffee, which was really sweet so if you don't really like sweet coffee, you don't get that one but if you do, that's your coffee. She got the Chickichanga omelette she said it was pretty good and she'd probably get it again, but it was their seasonal. All in all is a really good breakfast. I would definitely go back again.

    Pumpkin Pancake Breakfast

First Watch, let me start off by saying that this place is typically packed on weekend mornings so be sure to plan accordingly and book in advance online. Upon entering, I entered and checked in with the hostess and was immediately seated as quoted online. Let's rate the service first. Our waitress was very attentive and assured our needs were met also empathized with an impatient toddler of ours so props to her! Now the food, ordered the Maple Bacon Croissant Sandwich, oh was it packed with flavor, the sweet apricot jam paired well with the pork sausage, crispy sweet bacon and melted cheddar all within a buttery croissant! Paired with seasoned potatoes for a fall farm flavor. My wife ordered the Pumpkin Pancake breakfast with bacon, the pumpkin pancake is full of fall flavor pumpkin hint perfect amount of sweetness and with an iced honey caramel crunch coffee for a beverage made for an exceptional breakfast! The atmosphere inside is a more of a country interior, family friendly and fast service. Overall great food and excellent service!

My brother and I thoroughly enjoyed this place for breakfast. We ended up going here after my daughter's Air Force graduation. We were seated immediately after coming in and our waitress was amazing. She walked us through the menu and offered different options based on our dietary needs. This establishment is nestled in a strip of other stores and such! It was very clean and comforting. The bathrooms were very clean as well. If you are ever in the San Antonio area, First Watch is a must try!

Waiter said it was fine and that I could pull them off.... Nice. I did and revealed quite a bit of ice-burg lettuce just getting a little brown.....maybe a free specs of bacon that costs extra.....they really push it also. I won't eat here again. Besides the place needing a really good cleaning..... everything. You'd probably be amazed how must dust you are eating when the air conditioning system starts blowing. Look at the picture frames and electrical outlets with power cords, blow up the picture and see. They don't bother cleaning the table sides or menu holders......YUCK So I tried with the on duty Manager in the ASH gray tshirt who I thought at first was the Dishwasher. He was Ok the first conversation, we told him we just wanted the table to be cleaned. They complied, took them twice though. The second conversation he listened but I could tell he couldn't care less, so I looked for reasons to not to call the Health Inspector and asked him for some??? He told me to call the Managing Partner and kinda laughed then walked off. I saw this place must be owned or Managed-by Texas Roadhouse...... what a shame, this place could be great !! It is NOT. Additional note: Restrooms were filthy and unattended, used paper all over and unattended trash overflowing. I just think this is a sign of poor Management at this location. Maybe some re-training is in order ?? The single bartender was also overwhelmed. Plenty of waitstaff checking phones, group talking where they could have been helping out other areas that needed attention. This is the Culebra and Loop 410 Location. I never had a problem at 1604 and Culebra/Shaenfield Rd. Location....... I just wanted to be clear.

FIRST TIME VISIT!…read more Woohoo! Been looking for chili cheese fries and happened upon a review for this place boasting fries with a homemade chili so we HAD TO stop in tonight. THE LOCATION: on the very end of a string of businesses in a strip mall that I've never been in before, so that was cool. Lots of parking, that'll never be an issue. And right off the 410. THE MENU: Burgers, dogs, Mexi-style munchies and a variety of frozen dessert-type items like shakes, frozen fruit concoctions and Italian ice. THE STAFF: I wasn't overwhelmed with a warm welcome and smiles, at least from the guys. Lol! They should really work on that. There was a sweet gal who ran out our food orders and she was great. THE FOOD: I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich deluxe with tots and a sweet tea. The grilled chicken was juicy and cooked well and the bun was lovely, slightly sweet and toasted. Overall, the sandwich could've used more flavor, like a creamy bbq spread and cheddar instead of the "Swiss" cheese that tasted more like American cheese. But overall, 7/10. The tots were extra crispy and the guy who took my order didn't take heed to my request for ranch. I was too lazy to get up again so I settled for ketchup. The sweet tea was nicely sweet and fresh, I'll be sipping this in my dreams. The hubby ordered the bacon cheeseburger with chili cheese fries and an Oreo cookie shake. The burger looked good and he ate it quick, so there's that. This guy can EAT so it surprised us both when he slowed down fast after eating that burger. Lol! He kept saying how filling it was, but then he also killed a large shake before the food arrived, so there's that. He ate most of his chili cheese fries, leaving me a few bites to sample. Not bad. I order a Coco Haven frozen dessert to go and omg is this thing delightful! Vanilla ice cream and coconut Italian ice (?) with a blue snow cone-like syrup drizzled throughout. I loved the texture of what I believed to be Italian ice. Smooth and flaky, a perfect icy dessert. OVERALL: decent eatery, the hubby said we can go back (LOL!) Shockerrrrr! But I recommend the staff tries harder to make customers feel welcomed and comfortable. The next visit will be telling.

Im a little torn on how to rate 54th Street Scratch Grill & Bar. I didn't dislike it, but I also…read moredidn't leave feeling like I had to come back immediately. Overall, I'd say the atmosphere was the strongest part of the experience. We were staying at a nearby hotel, so being able to walk over was really convenient. We were greeted right away and seated within a few minutes, even though it looked like they were having a busy evening. The restaurant itself has a really fun atmosphere. There's a lot happening... sports memorabilia, photos, decorations, TVs, and plenty of people laughing and enjoying themselves. It has a very lively pub/sports-bar feel without being uncomfortable or overwhelming. I had never been to a 54th Street before, so I enjoyed taking everything in. For dinner, I ordered the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. I chose it because it was one of the dishes I saw recommended over and over again. Unfortunately, this was the biggest disappointment of the meal. The chicken was very thin, extremely overcooked, dry, and difficult to chew. It honestly reminded me more of a basic frozen chicken tender than a freshly prepared piece of chicken. It was covered in white gravy, but the gravy couldn't really save the chicken. Maybe it was just an off night, but based on how highly recommended this dish was, I expected much more. The mashed potatoes were good and the little buttered roll was fine, but neither was particularly memorable. The Brussels sprouts were actually one of the better parts of my meal. They had a sweet glaze and cranberries, with a scoop of a white, cheese-like sauce served alongside them. I'm not completely sure what the sauce was, but the combination was good. My daughter ordered the mac & cheese with bacon crumble. It was a pretty straightforward pasta with a house cheese sauce and bacon on top, but she ate about half of it, so I'd say it was definitely kid-approved. My other kiddo had a simple cheese quesadilla, which was good and exactly what he wanted. We also tried the fried pickles, and those were probably my favorite thing we ordered. The breading was really good, and I liked the seasoning it had a little bit of a spicy kick. A few of the pickles were slightly cold in the center, so they could have used a little more time in the fryer, but overall they were delicious. My only complaint was the very small amount of ranch that came with them. Overall, I think 54th Street has a great atmosphere and a fun, casual environment, but my particular meal didn't really live up to the recommendations I had seen. I'd be willing to come back if I'm ever in San Antonio again and try something different. I don't regret going, and I definitely wouldn't tell someone not to try it. I just wouldn't order the chicken fried chicken again. Maybe I caught them on an off night.

Anytime we leaned on it, it would sway to the side, which is not exactly a pleasant experience when trying to eat. We tried to notify our server, but they were nowhere to be found for about 15 minutes. When we finally told them about the table, they sent a guy to check it, and even he seemed surprised by how wobbly it was. After that, nothing happened. We then waited another 10 minutes before our server showed up again, and by that point, we still had no drinks and had not even placed our order. Later, we needed ketchup and napkins, but again, it took another 15 minutes for our server to come back. On top of that, the hostess was extremely rude and had a noticeable attitude. The manager eventually came by, but all she really said was that they were busy, and that was pretty much it. She left and was probably the least helpful of everyone. This was probably the worst restaurant experience I have had. We were deciding between coming here or going to Hopdoddy, and we figured Cracker Barrel is usually a good choice. Next time, we will not even hesitate to go to Hopdoddys instead. This happened at around 12:30 pm on Sunday March 29th. I didn't get the managers name as she was briefly here and then left in a hurry. I know they can get busy, but avoid this location. The employees and management don't care.

Now most of my reviews are of takeout since it's hard for me to get in the restaurant Cheddars does have space for wheelchairs and are good when I go in but I do pick-up. You might see another review from me not happy about my steak meal but that's not cheddars. Right now it's been right on a 98% rate. They missed a sauce once in the last few times. But usually I will get what I ordered how I ordered it with what is supposed to come with. I like they change the menu around some. Bringing in items for a while then changing them. Nice variety of food and sides at slightly better prices than some other close restaurants. I think you will enjoy it.

Our waitress brought out delicious croissants drizzled with honey butter that I wish now I would've saved as my dessert. They were absolutely delicious. I ordered the grilled chicken pecan salad. I wasn't sure which salad dressing to choose so the waitress recommended. I tried both the honey mustard and ranch. Both dressings were very good and I like them equally so I did half-and-half on my salad. My chicken was grilled perfectly. It was juicy and tender. All of the veggies in my salad were very fresh and the pecans were delicious with a glazed topping. Give them a try!

For those who have not been before: you'll go inside and go up to the counter. They will have a big menu, and you get whatever from it, and you get your drinks as well. They will take the order, then give you a receipt, and you sit wherever you want. Then your waiter or waitress will bring you your food, and if you want something else to add, they will do it at your table. After your meal, you pay with them as well. For us, we got an appetizer: chips with salsa and queso. Then, for our mains, I got the SHRIMP PO-BOY with blackened shrimp and onion rings. My wife got the Grilled Chicken Caesar, and chicken tenders for our kids. Everything came out fresh and hot. No issues with how the food tasted at all. The only thing I wish was for more shrimp on the Po-Boy--don't get me wrong, it's still bomb and I would get it again, but I want to taste more shrimp than bread. My wife really liked her salad; they didn't skimp on the chicken at all. Most places only give you some. The kids, of course, were happy with chips and salsa, and of course chicken and fries. The atmosphere is pretty chill; they have signs everywhere and TVs for the games, even a little arcade for the kids. It's nice to go there and just chill, not to worry about your kids making a lot of noise. I will definitely be back.
