Stopped in for breakfast while visiting the San Antonio area, and wow--what a fantastic choice. Breakfast was truly AMAZING. We started with the lemon blueberry cornbread, which was the perfect warm-up. My husband ordered an omelette, I went with the avocado toast topped with smoked salmon, and I paired it with the Morning Meditation juice. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The coffee was delicious, and they even surprised us with their homemade bacon--sweet, savory, and absolutely unforgettable. Our waitress was kind and attentive, and the cute décor made the whole experience even better. I highly recommend stopping in for a meal if you're in the area. This place is a gem.

We typically frequent the location by North Star mall, but decided to come to this location today as we already had plans over here. Everything was okay, but I will say the glasses for water were dirty, as well as the water jars/jugs. We asked for a clean drinking glass, but was handed ANOTHER dirty glass. Not sure if they need to soak these or just change their dishwater, but it definitely affected the experience.

First Watch was recommended by a very good friend of mine. I finally got an opportunity to have breakfast there today, the night before Christmas. There are several of these First Watch locations around San Antonio but I tried the one just north of Wurzbach on the frontage rd. The restaurant is very nice inside, clean, modern but not cold looking, a place you would want to meet friend for breakfast or lunch. The staff was very friendly, seating me at a booth where I could look out the window. I told Lia,my waitress, this was my first time and would she recommend a few items. Her input was very helpful. I had the Tri-Fecta breakfast. A multigrain blue berry pancake with eggs sunny side up and I upgraded to the million dollar bacon side and coffee. OMG was this good! I like real maple syrup, so I added that to my order but the pancake came with a blueberry compote which was excellent. The pancake was tender and cooked to perfection. The bacon is to die for. Excellent coffee topped off the meal. There were so many items on the menu I want to try, their versions of eggs Benedict and different hash but it will have to wait until next time. Just sit down and enjoy your meal and bring friends, next time I will

I've been going here since they opened years ago! It was slow and quiet for awhile. Now they have such a reputation that there is a wait on weekends. Be sure to put in a reservation on their app. I pointed to my friends my fave: salad and sandwich. Funny bc we all ended up ordering the same thing. It was very delicious. Their Reuben always hands down the best. Our waitress was so lovely. Thank you for the great time! Now my friends want to go back ;)

The lemon ricotta pancakes are show stopping great! They are soft, fluffy and full of flavor. My husband went inside to pick up our food and he said they were very friendly and the restaurant was very clean inside. Now back to the food, the sweet lemon taste matches so well with the pancakes. Wow

First Watch is one of those brunch places that's quite predictable for a variety of reasons, and for that, we tend to visit it over other local brunch restaurants at times. While I wanted a skillet, I opted for something less oily and heavy. The BLT Egg Benny did the trick. While the eggs weren't as runny as I'd expect, it was still full of flavor. My family enjoyed their meals. We decided to split a stack of blueberry pancakes, and we learned that our stack was delivered to the wrong table. It took a while to actually get the pancakes, yet when they came, they contained the most and largest amount of blueberries I've seen in any pancake. My husband said the blueberry topping was good with the flapjacks. It was challenging to layer the butter since the pancakes broke apart early when we attempt to lift the top one to butter the bottom one. I was good with just butter and syrup. For all the time we waited to get them, they took them off our tab. If you plan to visit, make sure to check in via Yelp. That's saved us a wait every time.

My quinoa had perfectly cooked over easy eggs so that you can spread the runny yolk all over the Quinoa, kale, bacon, mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes- yum!

This was our first time visiting San Antonio. First Watch is our favorite breakfast spot in St. Louis so we decided to see how it would be in Texas. I've always heard that everyone is so friendly in San Antonio but I wanted to see for myself. So I have to say that I was blown away by how friendly our server was. The food was fresh and amazing as always and I am happy to say that we are permanently moving to San Antonio next month and I cant wait to visit other locations. My hubby is not really a fan of First Watch but I love their turkey sausage links. If you haven't tried, give them a shot. Hubby had the trifecta said everything good but cold. Traditional breakfast with eggs over medium. Whites of egg still runny and unfortunately everything was cold other than the potatoes. Our server did a great job. read more

I asked for a dairy free option and the waiter argued that eggs were a dairy product, when in fact they are not. Eggs come from animals and are not a dairy product, which is a huge misconception. read more

#1 Use the Yelp app to get in line. We went late on a Saturday morning and it was packed! There were 19 groups in front of us. We only waited about 20 minutes. #2 On the seasonal menu is Millionaire bacon, get some, you won't be sorry. #3 Bring a sweater if you happen to be sensitive to very air conditioned areas. #4 Expect to wait a VERY long time for your order. Even our server commented on it. #5 It was worth the wait! Had it not taken 40 minutes to get an omlett and a skillet with no special requests my star rating would have been better. Delicious aaaand good amount food. Staff is pretty chill, friendly but not overly enthusiastic, if you are a regular they make you feel like you are one of them. Make sure you place yourself on the waiting list and screenshot it as the system may fail. Since everything is fresh made you will have to wait a bit for the food but it's totally worth it (don't arrive too hungry lol ) read more

Let me give you the real. It's amazing. I ordered one of the classic favorites and it came out delicious. The eggs, were just so good! Cage free, I believe it girl. Not your tropical egg whites taste. They taste like home! Now, my chocolate chip pancake, perfection. Lastly, those potatoes, to die for. I don't know what seasoning they did to make the potatoes taste so good but it works! read more

My friends and I went to First Watch and we were pretty disappointed. The wait for our food was probably close to 20 minutes- even through there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. When they dropped off our food, they did it in rounds instead of all at once, so one persons food was cold by the time someone else's food came out. My eggs were burnt and the potatoes I got were mostly burned. My friend found a brown hair in his food. Our server didn't refill our waters unless we asked- even though they were empty for a long time before then. We rarely saw our server, she never asked us if our food was okay or if we needed other things. When it was time to pay, we had to ask another server where we were supposed to pay or if our server was going to cash us out because we hadn't seen her since she dropped off our food. We have been to other locations but this one was just short of being mediocre. read more

This place used to be called "the egg & I ". I loved the egg & I . When that closed & it became "first watch " I was pissed ! Why did they have to go & ruin a good thing ? I boycotted for a long time & than I got hungry & that was the closest breakfast place to me . I decided to give it a try & im so glad I did . I had the omelette w/ nothing but meat & cheese . It was divine . Everything was fresh . My omelette was cooked to perfection & piping hot !! All the contents inside were hot too. Give this place a try !! read more

Not that big of a fan of breakfast but I always get excited when I know I'm going to be having it here! I hate leaving a breakfast restaurant feeling lethargic, and then wanting to sleep the whole day away. That's not me, but when I get to first watch have myself a morning meditation I'm reminded of how powerful I can be and I can get through my day! First time visiting First Watch and I couldn't be more impressed. We ordered the Kale Tonic juice which was very tasty, fresh and for $3.99 you can't beat the price! If you are on the fence about ordering this juice because of the kale I would recommend it for first time juicers. It's sweet and if you weren't told there was kale in it you wouldn't be able to tell from just drinking it. We split the avocado chipotle salad which was a good sized portion and came with a size of grilled bread. The restaurant is stylishly decorated inside with a modern country / farm-to-table type feel. I will definitely be coming back to try something else off the menu as they had so many healthy and tasty options to choose from. Our waitress was extremely friendly and the best part is she didn't frown at us when we told her we wanted to split our salad or look down on us like we were a couple of cheapskates. She was even kind enough to bring us an extra plate and was very attentive. read more

The food was great but the service was lacking. I (and I imagine most people) prefer good service and are ok with waiting a few extra minutes for accurate service. It felt as if waitstaff was rushed and it felt chaotic. My colleague and I asked for some specific condiments 5 TIMES (and it was difficult hailing somebody down each of those times). Each time it was acknowledged but it was just lip service. I have NEVER felt so ignored at a restaurant before. And then my food arrived incorrect. Again to hail somebody was so difficult and by the time I caught somebody's attention and got my food I had to rush to eat it. This was my first time ever to not leave a tip. I really struggled with that but I felt so ignored and I'm a big believer in tipping based on service. And the service was pretty much nil. Management: please learn from this. Following through goes a long way. read more

Food was good but the place is a little too hectic and not worth the wait on a sunday morning. The wait for a table, even when checking in ahead, is considerable and the place seemed pretty understaffed for the number of people that were coming in and out. Definitely had to wait for our food or even to get a servers attention for too long. read more

The fact they have butter on the table for the tortillas was a delight. But as I'm sitting there I notice a gnat flying and it landed on my food. Then it flew over to the side of the plate. My husband got it with a napkin. The waitress was nearby so he laid the napkin on the table. We showed it to her. I told her it landed on my food. At this point I wasn't going to eat anymore of it. The recurring major flaw, is the way the restaurant inside was designed. It is beautiful but made with all hard surfaces. Nothing present to absorb sounds. As a result sounds inside magnify to a point our servers have had to bend over or take a knee to gather clients food orders during busy times. I feel like I am ar a big Spurs game with the sound bouncing around. Those at our table have had a hard time to have a conversation with each other at times. The small room up front is designed so sound bouncing off hard surfaces is worst in this room. I have had to ask to be relocated twice from this room due the sound level. The kitchen area in the front do not have doors to abd from the kitcgen to the dinibg rooms. Another design flaw, as a result the seating areas loud sound comes into the kitchen area. I can not imagine how the staff communicate to each other in this work setting.

We have been to several of the First Watch locations. It is hands down one of my family's favorite brunch options-healthy fare we love the BLT eggs Benedict. We started frequenting the location in the Colonnade because we had the best waitress "Aunt Tammy". She has always made our experience there such a great one. It's not every day you meet a server that creates a personal experience. My 6 year old was so impressed she left her tooth fairy money as part of the tip the first time we went. We TRIED to get breakfast and the service was deplorable! It took forever for someone to acknowledge us when we first walked in and for them to give us a table (there were maybe 4 tables occupied). After we finally ordered, the waitress brought a large OJ instead of a small one and forgot the water which we had to request 3 times. When they brought out the food, that order was wrong. The waitress didn't apologize and she just took it back to the kitchen. After 45 min of continuing to wait and not being served, we left WITHOUT having had breakfast. Went this Sunday for the first time. Definitely not going back! Finally when we were seated it was at a table that had not been cleared off. No one ever came to take our order and no apology was made. Granted on a Sunday you expect for things to be busy and things to slip by.
