The waitress shared some suggestions which were well received by my friend who was a first time diner. I must say, if you have never ordered one of the specialty drinks here, it is worth the money. I tried an old-fashioned hot chocolate with whipped cream and my friend ordered one of the fresh squeezed juices with ginger. Although it was made with water, the hot chocolate was silky, smooth, and delightfully creamy. We both were very pleased. We also tried the honey. Butter biscuit bites. These bite sized pieces of deliciousness were great to enjoy with the drinks. The jelly served with them is scrumptious. Our entrées were equally as delicious. Came in for a girls brunch and, to be honest, I'm not usually a big fan of First Watch to begin with. That said, I have to give credit where it's due -- the food was actually really good this time. The chorizo omelette was good. I couldn't finish it all plus we did order pancakes too and they were just great. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the experience we were hoping for. Our waitress seemed visibly annoyed when we ordered, like she just didn't want to be there. I completely understand it was busy for a Saturday, but service felt really slow -- it took quite a while to get basic things like silverware and eventually the check. Overall, the food was a highlight, but the service left a lot to be desired. Sadly, I don't plan on coming back. For San Antonio, I think I can find a better spot for girls brunch. read more

Incredible service at exactly 7:00am when they opened for business! I ordered the healthy turkey with million dollar bacon and million dollar potatoes (big back behavior). Absolutely delicious. The coffee was great as always and I cannot overstate how excellent the service was! The restaurant was super clean and stocked full of creamers and salt, pepper, and Cholula for the crowd to come. First Watch was recommended by a very good friend of mine. I finally got an opportunity to have breakfast there today, the night before Christmas. There are several of these First Watch locations around San Antonio but I tried the one just north of Wurzbach on the frontage rd. The restaurant is very nice inside, clean, modern but not cold looking, a place you would want to meet friend for breakfast or lunch. The staff was very friendly, seating me at a booth where I could look out the window. I told Lia,my waitress, this was my first time and would she recommend a few items. Her input was very helpful. I had the Tri-Fecta breakfast. A multigrain blue berry pancake with eggs sunny side up and I upgraded to the million dollar bacon side and coffee. OMG was this good! I like real maple syrup, so I added that to my order but the pancake came with a blueberry compote which was excellent. The pancake was tender and cooked to perfection. The bacon is to die for. Excellent coffee topped off the meal. There were so many items on the menu I want to try, their versions of eggs Benedict and different hash but it will have to wait until next time. While I wanted a skillet, I opted for something less oily and heavy. The BLT Egg Benny did the trick. While the eggs weren't as runny as I'd expect, it was still full of flavor. My family enjoyed their meals. We decided to split a stack of blueberry pancakes, and we learned that our stack was delivered to the wrong table. It took a while to actually get the pancakes, yet when they came, they contained the most and largest amount of blueberries I've seen in any pancake. My husband said the blueberry topping was good with the flapjacks. It was challenging to layer the butter since the pancakes broke apart early when we attempt to lift the top one to butter the bottom one. I was good with just butter and syrup. For all the time we waited to get them, they took them off our tab. If you plan to visit, make sure to check in via Yelp. That's saved us a wait every time. read more

I wasn't brave enough to order the whole thing, because it was new to me, so I ordered the half and a broccoli soup. This sandwich was incredible! I ordered it just as it comes: Roast beef, Horseradish Havarti cheese, house-roasted onions and tomato with lemon-dressed arugula on grilled Parmesan-crusted sourdough. Horseradish sauce on the side. Once I picked it up...I could not put it down. Actually I suggest not putting it down because it was kinda messy but in a good way Then it was all gone and I realized I hadn't even taken a photo...it was that good. I was passing by and needed to eat something before my next meeting so I ordered a breakfast sandwich to go. The front staff was helpful but I thought I ordered a plain bacon and egg. I still got charged about $12 for it. The back of house staff brings out a large to go bag and calls out for Kim. Kim's not there. After standing around, because they didn't offer a seat in the empty restaurant, I asked if perhaps that was my order. Are you Kim? No. Then no. Okay but no one else is here. I ask a different person and sure enough that was my sandwich! I never gave them a name. Do I look like a Kim? Totally bizarre. I take my sandwich to the car and of course there's not one fork for the potatoes and definitely not a napkin for the runny egg. Okay Yelpers! Back to First Watch this chill, damp Saturday morning, hankering for coffee and breakfast. Last minute decision, we failed to join the wait list, which found us in queue for 25 minutes. (Note to self: ALWAYS join the waitlist!! ) But no matter, our hippocampus was primed with memory of the delicious petit-déjeuner we previously shared. Marjan chose the classic breakfast, but for me, I chose new option: "Power Bowl" ! This is a bowl of quinoa, tomato, Italian sausage, mushers, a pair of basted eggs (steamed eggs) kale, strings of Parmesan, and a bit of dressing. Quinoa can be a bit bland, so salting and peppering, adding a bit of hot sauce (Marjan) really amped up the flavor. But in truth, the dish as served prevailed on its own merits. We enjoyed the dish, and i will definitely order on return. Marjan's classic was as expected: perfect for her hunger this morning. As usual, the staff, from hostess, to waitstaff (Robert) to support staff: welcoming and of good cheer!! Overall the food was really really good! But I've been to this location twice and with both our visits the service was bad, for both times we had waited 15-20 mins just for us to get out waters, the first time we went we hadn't seen our waitress the first 25 mins while not having to take our orders yet and just waiting for our water, we tried looking for our waitress but ended up calling who I believe looked like a manager in a collared shirt to take out order for us.it wasn't until after we got out food when we finally saw our waitress. The second time going was a way slower day with maybe only abt 4-5 tables filled throughout the restaurant and still waited 15-20 just for our waters while not having to take our orders yet. I don't know if the training needs to be fixed or worked on but that has just been my experience going! The food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING which is why I OBVIOUSLY went back but the lack of service definitely did not match the food! Going again tomorrow and I hope it was maybe just those 2 times but i will keep an update! read more

I mean brisket, grilled peppers, onions and potatoes with eggs, all those flavors combined don't get any better. I recommend the aioli on the side because it is such a dominant flavor. My grandson had the Tres Leches French Toast and said it was the best he's ever had. The Million Dollar Bacon is super tasty, but is more like half-million because it is not that thick. I was expecting slabs of smoky sweet goodness, but still good for the price. Highly recommend coming here as the expansive menu had a dozen more dishes I want to try.
