Worst run First Watch that I've ever been to. You had to wait 10 minutes before a hostess even came to check you in. The food was sloppily made and didn't taste as good as normal. Our waiter stopped by maybe twice, we had to get other waiters to help and even then we hardly got our drinks. They came after the food. I love first watch and this one was the biggest disappointment. Honestly the worst service I've had in ages. Granted, they were busy, but it took so long to even just cash out. I keep coming back but... This last Sunday was too much to overlook. The order took 45 minutes to get to us. The pancakes were cold and the Açaí was like soup. I get that you may have staffing problems, but at least check on people. No one once apologized or asked how things were going, how the food turned out etc.. This place has consistently good (not great) food. I've been coming every since it switched from The Egg and I (which I liked better) years ago. The clean rustic interior evokes a warm farm house feeling. The usually hippy staff is consistently friendly and attentive in making suggestions when undecided, checking in on you and offering a to-go drink before heading out the door. I love pancakes - it's the only time I don't feel guilty about eating a flat cake for breakfast! I normally order plain multi-grain pancakes with whipped butter. That usually satisfies my pancake craving. I decided to try the Tri-Fecta today. It was ok, but will likely not order it again. The pancake was a bit dry and eggs and sausage came out cold. It took a little longer than usual to receive my food so I think it hung around the kitchen a bit longer that it should. I let my server know and she quickly brought out a replacement of eggs and sausage which were just perfect. The coffee is always great! I like plain black coffee without anything else in it. I enjoy hot bold coffee, especially on a cold morning. The overall experience is typically good and will visit when I'm in the mood for pancakes. We came late morning and were quickly seated. I loved seeing mugs already on the table. The menu has no pictures but that's a good thing, it makes you read the items so you can debate on all the scrumptious choices. I decided on their limited item - pork green chili hash. The flavors were there but the potatoes were slightly undercooked. My daughter had the tri-fecta. Finally checked this place out. It's nice because you can make a reservation right from your phone before going over there. This place has an extensive brunch menu with many options that looked so good. It's smart because they ask if you want coffee right away. I was sad that they don't have any lattes or espresso drinks. My husband got the chicken pesto quinoa and I got the salmon egg Benedict. Both options were good but not amazing. He also got one of the juices which was good. The waiter was we really nice. Originally went to a branch in Florida but found it here in San Antonio Texas! First off, it's located at a business plaza sharing outside parking with a few other stores. Parking can be difficult on a Sunday morning and you'll probably have to park further in the back of the building but it's not too bad. Walking is good for you! It was jam packed on Sunday but since we only had 2 people they seated us right away. Fabulous! Ordered my favorite Avo Toast, excellent. Waiting time for food is about 15min, probably bc they were swamped so it's good to order as soon as you sit down. The bread is decent but could be a bit crispier. Eggs were great as well as the avocado. Server was very friendly and attentive. It is Kayla that I would like to recommend. I don't understand why everyone flocks to first watch. At best it is mediocre. The service is substandard and like today we waited and waited. I was out of water for 33 minutes while the waitress flirted and giggled forever at the next table. She gave us our check before I ever got water or our food. When our food came, you could see where someone ran their finger through the top of the cream on the breakfast plate. The food isn't bad, it isn't good either. It just ehhh! I went here with my sister for Sunday brunch so I was expecting a longer wait time, but I don't think they honored the waitlist at all. We still hadn't heard anything around 11:30 AM, so we asked again and they said our table would be ready in the next couple of minutes, because we were first on the waitlist. Checked in again like 20 minutes later and they said they couldn't find us on the waitlist anymore... We were seated about 10-15 minutes after the confusion. The saving grace of this place was the food and the portion size. I got a "2 for You" lunch for $8.99. I ordered a Monterey Club and a Cobb Salad. Both tasted so fresh and I loved the amount of greens, turkey, and bacon that were included in them. The "2 for You" is worth it for the price for the portion size you receive. The food made me forget about the awkward, long wait-time. The inside of First Watch is really cute with a farmhouse vibe and spacious , clean interior. I thought the staff was nice. He is pleasant but incredibly slow and not attentive at all. The last 3 times i've been, my silverware and or glass ware is dirty with obvious stains. Even if I needed something there isn't a server around to ask, they are all standing around in the kitchen. The order was messed up AND came out separately. I walk in the door and there are a few customers being serviced. I wait patiently for them to clear as multiple employees are walking about. Not once is my presence acknowledged. It was cooked perfectly and was flavorful. I chose the potatoes for my side. They didn't look to be seasoned, but they were actually well seasoned. The buttered toast and preserves were so good! Not a long wait on a Saturday, when we arrived we noticed that the radio was blaring really loud. I checked the decibels on my I watch and it read 85 decibels at times. Way too loud. We asked our waiter to turn it down. He said ok and kept about his duties and didn't turn it down. We called the manager over and asked her. She explained that when it's crowded, the music cannot be heard so they turn it up. But she kindly turned it down for us. Tables were wiped down but chairs had food left on them.
