I had the pleasure of coming here to meet a fellow Texas A&M alum whom I haven't seen since our young Aggie days. The restaurant is a great place for a reunion. We decided to meet at 10 am on Sunday and their wasn't a huge crowd yet so I was able to get seated immediately. Unfortunately my friend had an emergency come up and was late (30 minutes) but the waitress was patient and friendly. I ordered one of the Classic Favorites, The Tri-Fecta. It comes with 2 eggs, waffle or pancake, and multiple meat options. Since I'm a vegetarian I asked to sub the meat for potatoes and to my luck my waitress complied! Everything was great! I had my eggs scrambled and they were great, not over or under cooked. The waffle wasn't hard, it was light. I thought the potatoes were seasoned well and cooked just right. Despite it all, when they do well, it's the best breakfast place near us. So, we keep coming. After the bad experience last year, we waited several months and eventually gave them another chance--and had at least two or three good experiences. So, we tried them again today; and I'm sad. The place didn't seem super busy. Server came by pretty quickly with our coffee and drinks, and took our order right away. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. When the food eventually came out, it was lukewarm, if even that. My wife liked the scrambled eggs and grits, but her gluten free toast was hard. My salmon eggs benedict, in addition to being cool, lacked a certain flavor--of the salmon! Might have gotten an extra thin piece of salmon? Then there was the music. It seemed to vary in volume. Sometimes it was just audible over the noise of other customers, and that was fine. But, it seemed it gradually got louder and louder. I learned my lesson last year; I always take earplugs and when the music gets louder, I just plug up. Suspect the manager might have noticed I wasn't super happy--when I went to pay he didn't even ask how everything was... We like coming here! Food is fresh and always good. Service is on point. I've gotten 2 to go orders and sat down once today. They put everything you need in the bag when you order out. It's just as if it were to be plated and still just as fresh as ordering in. We like that they bring a carafe if coffee and water to the table too! No need to wait for service so that keeps down on searching out the server. My only complaint is that the honeydew melon in the fruit bowl was a mix of over and under ripe, and that it was mostly melon and pineapple with sparse strawberry, blueberry, and grapes. Other than that the food and atmosphere are great and unique. Super tasty, sweet, savory, all of it is really good! Found another good breakfast/brunch spot! We stumbled upon this place looking for "healthier" options and this place fits (well healthier than other places)! I really like they have the check in online through their app or on Yelp that way you don't have to wait so long. The lines do get long so I recommend checking in online if you can. They have really great options for food and it's always fresh! They also have seasonal items to try as well but my go to is the Farm House skillet. It has everything I want and they serve it with toast and fresh fruit. They have some juice options to choose as well and my favorite is the kale tonic it's so good and gives a fresh start to the day. I met up with some friends for lunch today at noon. The parking lot in the front area was completely full, so I parked in the back area of the building. We didn't have to wait for a party of 3. This place gets really busy on the weekend, so join the yelp waitlist ahead of time if you can! Service- I have always enjoyed coming here, but it felt like the service wasn't on par today. My friend ordered the blue booster drink (white grape, blueberry, lemon and basil) before we ordered our meal. The drink didn't come out till 10 minutes after we ordered. She liked her drink but it wasn't spectacular, and it was missing the basil ingredient. As we waited, the server delivered the million dollar bacon to our table but we didn't order it... When we finally got our food, we had to remind our server to bring our salad dressing because she forgot. She apologized for the wait and we understood that it was just probably a busy day for her. This is my absolute favorite breakfast spot. My boyfriend and I start almost every morning at firstwatch. We are obsessed with their fresh juice. (I highly recommend the kale tonic!) The menu looked decent at first but nothing really stood out. No homemade sauces or anything in the bowls, no salsas, just variations of ingredients to star in the omelette and bowls. I got the Tri Athlete because I saw it had peppers but never advertised a homemade salsa, aiole, chutney, nothing. We also got the coffee. A bit acidic but very typical diner type. There's different flavored creamers if you need. Not a big deal. Sadly, the omelettes offered are egg whites so expect a verrrry light omelette that won't fill you. It's more like a light egg taco. It's not folded. I also order led the carrot cake pancake to test. My plate came with soggy diced peppers of sone kind inside, halved mushrooms and an extremely bland "pico" on top that was really just tomatoes and onions, no peppers, no cilantro in it. There was also grain bread and jam. The bread is thick which is nice. Cutting into the omelette, the mushroom halves flew onto the other side of the of the plate and the diced peppers fell out. Egg was tasteless, as well as the peppers and pico. I learned quickly this wasn't about flavor on this plate. Someone was just trying to come up with something light and healthy but forgot health conscious people also enjoy tasting their food. Salt and pepper didn't help. No cheese to hold it in every cut and every bite. Just a mess. The pancake was decent. Somewhat dry and it split in half with every cut of the fork but at least there were slices of carrots and pecans so I could taste a little bit of the carrot cake flavor but not much. What this place needs is true pico, true salsas - hot and cold or a salsa unique to their restaurant and someone to taste test everything to tell them if it'll be easy to bite into, cut well without spilling everything, and actually has flavor. Make something so outstanding that you sell it in bottles. Make this place memorable, not the second choice to Snooze AM when they're too busy. The plus though? You can add your name to the wait list from you car, head over and check in. We were able to be seated faster than the 30-45 min the site sold us. Love the large benches and look of a country farmhouse. It's not so country that you think Cracker Barrel but also not so modern that farm fresh eggs don't match. Waiters are sweet and thoughtful, cooks are rushing and getting everything out in time. Staff smiles and looks happy. That's a big sign to the customer.
