We love the new menu and the healthier choices that have been added using organic ingredients. We had the superfoods breakfast bowl and every bite was delicious. Chia seed pudding topped with fresh fruit and granola served with hearty toast slathered with delicious almond butter. Also had the salmon benedict that blew away any version of salmon benedict I've had at any other establishment. If you are feeling adventurous, do try the lemon curd ricotta pancakes. I came here for brunch on Labor Day, so I expected to wait in line. The only issue I had with this is that when put on the waitlist, I was sent a link that said I was waiting for the Egg & I (old location glitch?) so I removed myself out of confusion, then had to ask the guy at the front to get back on the list. Mildly annoying, but not their fault. No big deal. Waiting 40 more minutes to get food after being seated, though, was super annoying. But whatever, I thought. It's Labor Day, maybe some staff is on vacation. The food, though, was so underwhelming, especially for the price. I was so hungry that I wanted to devour it all and savor it but it was just so plain. I could've literally gotten that same waffle and pancake anywhere. I specifically came for the ricotta pancake & I couldn't even taste the ricotta. The drinks were very good & the waiter was friendly, but I left feeling so unsatisfied & like I had just eaten for the sake of eating. I was a big fan of the Egg and I that was formerly at this location. I don't think you can have enough places that do a good, hardy All-American breakfast well so having a place like First Watch around was a welcome addition to the community. My visit was on a weekend for a wait was to be expected. The hostess was missing when we arrived but she appeared within a few minutes and said we'd have a 20 minute wait. We were called in after only about 10 minutes. The dining room is bright and clean and very inviting at any hour of the morning. The tables are wide and comfortable. There is little worse than trying to enjoy a meal on a table that is too small for the number of plates you've been served. The tables here give you ample space to navigate around your dishes. Once we were seated we waited longer for our server than we waited for a table. It was easily 20 minutes before he came by and took our drink order and at least as long before the drinks came to the table. Coffee, the aqua vitae, was delayed even longer. BRUNCH FOUL! I was however grateful a carafe was left at our table. Our server was polite and very apologetic, but try as you might, apologies do not stir the spirit like coffee does. Note to those who intend to be successful in the breakfast/brunch business, coffee should never be further than an arm's length away from any server. When we finally placed our orders, we were commended on our excellent choices and our server disappeared into the kitchen like the steam off my coffee cup. The nice thing is we weren't hangry so the hour and a half wait from arrival to service was not as egregious as it could have been. We had nice conversations and waited patiently. Another server brought our plates and the two children received their orders perfectly, albeit syrup-less. My girlfriend received hers as well. I was handed an omelet I did not order. The server took it back to the kitchen and then returned a few minutes later to tell me the kitchen insisted that was what I had ordered. When I told her I had ordered the ham and Gruyere sandwich she said there was no such thing on the menu so I must have ordered the omelet. She returned again with the omelet and the menu only to show me my error only to find that there was indeed an ham and Gruyere sandwich on the menu and that the error was theirs. My three dining companions finished their meals before my order was corrected. The sandwich was very good, nice, thickly sliced sour dough, well buttered and grilled, good quality ham, tomato and a nice dressing. The field greens on the side were flavorless even with the olive oil and lemon dressing. I'm thinking someone forgot the lemon. Overall the quality of the food served is good, the environment is nice, but service is SORELY lacking. In my 4 decades as a diner I've never had a server attempt to argue that I didn't know what I ordered only to prove herself wrong. My thought is that with a 30% increase in the number of servers and maybe an extra hand or two in the kitchen as well as some good training, this could be a prime breakfast spot, in the mean time check out some of the Mom and Pop spots about town. read more

My husband and I were looking for a new place to eat, so I turned to my trusted Yelp app for suggestions... This was the first time at First Watch, formerly known as the Egg and I; and I hate to say this, but I was disappointed. The hostess was great and we were seated right away. The server was ok, a little slow with service and only had knowledge of a few breakfast plates. When we got our food, 20 minutes later, it was cold; the butter on the pancake was not even remotely soft and it tore the pancake when i tried to spread it. I asked if it could be heated and the server said they didn't have heat lamps??, Not what I asked for but ok. She left the first plate and ordered a second and when she brought out the second plate, it was piping hot, but needless to say I didn't eat it because I always have a hesitancy of eating food when it's been sent back. The only great thing I can say about this place was the coffee was good and hot. You have to request "fresh" half and half because they have the palm oil creamers on the table. This was a big waste of time. I checked in over an hour ago online as suggested and was told to report to the restaurant no later than 11;13am. Our whole family got together waiting to have brunch at this restaurant, only to find out that First Watch does not respect their own wait time app, thus it would be another hour of standing in the parking lot with no place to sit. I don't care how good the food might be because I'll never know. This kind of service is reprehensible, especially on Mother's Day. We walked across the street to a highly rated restaurant and had a wonderful, delicious lunch at Dough instead. First Watch is now Last Watch, or better yet, Broken Watch. read more

Although it's my first time trying out this place, I can comfortably say this has become one of my favorite breakfast/brunch places in town. The food was fresh and the portions were filling. We love First Watch and am frequent there a lot in Maryland. We were excited to come to this one but the service was just HORRIBLE. The wait to get a table was expected about 15 min but to get our food... it was longer than an hour! Then when it did come out it came out separate with half our party of 5 getting our food within 10 minutes of each other which resulted in our food getting cold. I would NOT recommend coming here unless you have 3 hours to kill. read more

Went for lunch today with three of my co-workers and had an extremely disappointing experience. When my co-worker and I ordered water with lemon, we were given very small juice glasses and a small jug of water. Strange, but okay...Service was extremely slow and we watched several people who arrived after us being served. Two of my co-workers ordered the "soup of the day" which was creamy chicken and rice. When food was delivered, the waiter said that the "soup of the day" was changed to blackeyed pea soup and that's what he served. He did not ask them if they wanted anything different, just served the soup. It was rather bland so they asked for salads - chopped salad and kale salad. It took our waiter forever to deliver the salads. When the kale salad arrived it only had two pieces of kale and the carrots on the salad were served hot. Yes, they were cooked carrots and were steaming. Because it took so long, the other person ordered his salad to go. The turkey on the sandwiches was extremely salad. No drink refills were never offered. Service was so bad, my co-worker did not tip and that is something he never does. Needless to say, we will not be returning for lunch. read more

Incredible experience!! We are from the Houston area and have family visiting from Nebraska. Our original plans caught a snag and we had to search for something different. We were a party of 11 and when my husband called in, the hostess suggested to use the "No Wait" app and choose 6 and then indicate 11 people in the party in the 'notes' section & she took his name as well. When we got there both hostesses were very welcoming and worked it out to where our family could sit together in 2 booths that were back-to-back. This was our first time at First Watch. We were greeted warmly and were seated next to a large panel of windows. From the dark wood tables, to the barn doors on either side of the kitchen entrance, the ambiance was one of warmth and welcome. The staff was friendly. Our waitperson offered her opinion when asked and answered our questions. My husband ordered the Farmers Breakfast Hash and I ordered the biscuit egg sandwich. The food was presented in an appetizing manner. The hash was in a large bowl place on a square pottery dish which held the whole wheat toast. My biscuit was placed in a smaller bowl, placed also on a square pottery dish which held the fried potatoes. The biscuit, fresh baked and then grilled, was spread with apple butter, while the rest of the sandwich included scrambled egg (my choice), bacon instead of sausage (my choice), cheddar cheese mixed in with the egg, and topped with arugula. Delightful combinations of flavors. The potatoes were seasoned lightly with herbs. You will have to look at the menu and see what the hash contained, but my husband ate nearly every bite after thinking it was way too much food! Besides being pleasing to the palette and filling as well, here are a couple of other things that will bring us back to First Watch. They were very amenable to customizing my biscuit to suit my choice in meats. They put a large carafe of great tasting coffee on the table so we didn't have to wait for someone to bring us a refill. The items listed on the menu revealed a creative side to the person who plans the meal and the person who cooks the meal. Very well done! The entire experience was pleasant, the food was filling and the atmosphere was comfortable. We plan to go back with the whole family! read more

I'm only referring to the First Watch Here on Bandera. i phone ordered breakfast on Tuesday 07/31/2018 they told me 10 min. i got there in about 15 min, had to wait because my order was not done. no problem once my order was received i drove literally 3.5 min and my food was ice cold...My Avocado Toast The Avocado Was Black as hell meaninig old Avocado's and My Million Dollar Bacon Taste Like 1.99 Bacon.. . Today (did I say I Loved This Place).. I Ordered A Turkey Burger for myself and The roast beef sandwhich for my co-worker(since i bragged how good this place was). again we phoned ordered the wait was 10 min got there in about 15 min had to wait a good 20 min with only 3 people in restaurant got Back to my place of Employment and what do you know... Ice Cold Again... I Said Hmmmmm something is wrong. So I Called the Manager A.J. Who was VERY VERY VERY RUDE AND NON COMPLIMENTARY TO MY CONCERNS.... when i ask for the corporate # he told me to find it myself and hung up... ..
