mimosa so far so good! i was greeted by a friendly guy who told me there's a short wait to be seated - unless you're like me and don't mind the "community table." i sat down and was served right away by a friendly server. she brought a full glass of ice water and a pitcher of cold water when she brought my mimosa. i placed my order and i'm just waiting now. they're busy but without ignoring customers' needs, so that's a plus. all the people i see look happy... there's lots of chatter, the staff is quickly doing whatever they're doing in the kitchen, at a tables, etc. i'll be adding more to this review after i leave. read more

The food is good and I love the open atmosphere. The coffee is always very fresh and staff treats the patrons well! The only negative experience I've had was judgement I received from a server when I ordered ~DECAF~ coffee while I was pregnant! She lectured me twice about it. You'll be happy to know that, unlike that server, their Belgian waffle is very fluffy -- not dense. (sorry, server) read more

Stopped by the location on Maple in Troy . They are practicing social distancing and the staff all wear face mask and were very polite . I ordered the Carrot cake pancake and the smoked salmon frittata, the flavors were very good appeared to be fresh ingredients however the pancakes was cooked too well and the Frittata was quiet small . I probably wouldn't make a trip back being that I live Downtown Detroit and it was just food no razzle nor dazzle here . What I'm going to start doing for future reviews is send the food back and have them adjust it to my liking and hopefully I can write better reviews. read more

This location is suffering. I'm leaving this review so that the owners/managers start to rethink their management practices. This franchise (like all franchises) must hold its standards up to the brand. Firstwatch is supposed to provide clean, modern, updated and healthy breakfast options to those of us in midwestern suburbs. I've been to other locations. A group of moms went for bfast after the first drop off at school. 8:30am. We were not able to finish and pay until nearly 11am. That is just plain ridiculous. We were not in a rush but that doesn't mean the waitperson can ignore us for hours!! We had to ask for EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING!! Refill coffee, more water, take our order, etc. There were 5 of us, not exactly invisible. But luckily for our 2.5 hr meal, they have me a $2 coupon for my "next visit" which I will NOT be needing. Get your act together! Ps. 2 stars instead of 1 cuz the food was great, when it finally came. (But Coffee needs work.) read more

I've been here several times. I like their scrambles with the roasted potatoes. My wife likes their pancakes. Usually a wait, so check in beforehand through the app. Orange juice is good, but not great. Probably store bought. I would recommend coming here for breakfast. read more

I've come on total about 5 times, each time I've had the same issues with the establishment which is why this is my last time. The food is good, not great, not bad-- good. The service and and wait time for food is atrocious. Scrambled eggs take 35 minutes, pre-made soup takes 40 minutes... that's where I have an issue. The staff is nice enough, but the time it takes to get food once ordered is not acceptable. Avoid if you are hungry or if you have to be somewhere. Also- its very loud. read more

i changed my mind, i do have to eat here again. my husband and i came back to give it another try after being contacted by pam, which i highly appreciate! she wanted us to try it again and offered us a gift certificate. this time i got the works omelette, my husband got the steak and eggs hash again. we split the blueberry pancakes and i got iced coffee and he got the blue booster. everything was GREAT! the pancakes were the highlight of the show. so soft and buttery in the center. my husband is not a pancake guy and he absolutely loved them. my omelette was full of flavor and packed with toppings. not to mention the iced coffee was so creamy and delicious. didn't need any additional cream or sugar. the blue booster was nice and sweet! perfect for anyone who's picky with speciality beverages. our service was spot on and the server made sure to check in us. we will definitely be back again! thank you first watch for actually caring about your customers! read more

My first visit was for breakfast at the Big Beaver location. I would rate it 4 stars. I forget what kind of scramble it was, something w veggies and goat cheese and it was great. Lemon ricotta pancakes delicious. Million dollar bacon yum. Great home fries. My second visit was at Maple/Coolidge location for lunch, and I would rate it 2 stars. Worst club sandwich i've ever had. Gross soft sourdough bread. Watery bland tomato soup. Pecan chicken salad w honey vinaigrette was good... except for the chicken. Tasted like it came off a truck, pre cooked. I ordered the avocado toast and requested Pico de Gallo as a topping.. the dish doesn't normally come with Pico but it was a delicious addition. Guacamole toast lol. The coffee here is amazing. First time here so tried what seemed to be interesting items that I haven't seen elsewhere. I got the lemon ricotta pancakes and the million dollar bacon. Pancakes were fine. Didn't blow my mind or anything and bummed that the ricotta in the batter didn't seem to add much. I liked the lemon curd and fresh strawberries on top. Maple syrup was heated and that was a nice touch. And the million dollar bacon is a good idea but won't be getting it again. I dig candied bacon. I even dig peppered bacon. For me this was way too sweet and fiery and wish I had just gotten regular bacon. I'll be back to try one or two more items that look promising but this won't be a regular option because the prices remind me of room service at a hotel and so this will be a rare splurge place for this dude. We ordered French toast, avocado toast, and eggs Benedict -- all terrific! Great service, plenty of space, and nice ambience. Our son really enjoyed the neatly-packed crayons inside the activity sheet and the extra-long bendy straws. I'm eager to try more things on the menu. read more

This chain is on of my favorites. Their foods always on point. This location is new; however it was slow when I was here visiting. I was happily treated by the kind host; sat down. And promptly left there to sit. I waited over ten minutes to get any service; even a glass of water. (Which I would have then happily sat longer) so sadly I left. Unfortunately the customer service is lacking. The food is good but a bit overpriced. I go here when I want to splurge, but I won't be going back. Over a month ago I ordered take out which included a side order of their expensive bacon. I pick up my food, get home and realize they didn't include the bacon. So I call them - the guy apologized and stated he would process a refund right away. But it may take a couple of days to show up. Needless to say I never got the refund. I was going to order from them, then checked and realized they never refunded me for my bacon. So they basically just lost a customer for the price of bacon, as I will never order from them again. Overall, good and fresh. Our meals were definitely greasy but the flavor was delicious. I would eat here in moderation for sure. The breakfast sausage was fresh and tasteful. The bacon was dry and crisp (the way I love it). I ordered the salmon Benedict and it was great. The place is big and bright, great for our 3 kids. My daughter had a pancake, light and fluffy Kids food came out quickly. My husband and I were extremely late with our food (30-35 minutes after the kids). I get it, it happens. I actually had a job interview and just ordered a basic 2 egg bacon and toast breakfast. Bacon was crispy, toast was well buttered. I did crunch into a few egg shells so left most of my scrambled eggs. Even though it was very busy service was efficient and friendly. Would definitely give it another try. read more

Great food. HORRIBLE service. The host said we were all set to go sit at the table then started cashing out customer after customer as we stood there in the way, confused. I had to get in the line to pay just to get back in front of him to get him to finally seat us like he said he would before he ignored us. Then we sit down, and the waitress takes about 20 minutes to come by. When she finally does come by, we ordered our food. 20 minutes goes by, she comes back, tells us what we ordered isn't available after telling us 20 minutes ago it was. Another 20, we get the food. It was good, but the server was terrible. She kept taking her mask down in the kitchen while preparing food also. read more

First off.... Shit is expensive as hell for an average below par breakfast. Any local Diner I would prefer to support over this place. Staff is friendly and place is nice... I was just shocked at their prices for breakfast. Meal that is 6-7 dollars was around 15 here yikes- you would expect it to actually taste better than a diner but it doesn't. We have been regular customers at your locations on Big Beaver at Rochester and Maple at Coolidge since they opened, but our visit yesterday, 03/03/2020 at 11:00 AM at the Somerset location was a disaster. We were greeted by the hostess and she seated us promptly upon entering the restaurant, but we sat at our table for ten minutes without a waitress/waiter coming to introduce him or herself. To add insult to injury two parties of two people were seated at separate tables after us and they were greeted by a waitress within sixty seconds of them sitting down. This is the second time we have had this experience at First Watch. We had the same experience at your Troy location about a year ago, but this time we walked out of the restaurant. To make matters worse, the hostess just watched us leave. She was looking right at us as she walked to the coffee station and toast area. No one said a word to us-what a joke. You guys need to get your stuff together. The very idea that the wait staff was so focused on taking care of themselves and worrying about their individual needs that we got overlooked by multiple waiters. All it took was for someone to walk up and say, "Have you been helped yet? ...I'll take your drink orders to get you going, what are you having?" Just awful customer service. The restaurant wasn't even that busy-no one was waiting for a table at the entrance and multiple tables were empty. We have been pleased on our other visits to this First Watch location because the food is outstanding, but I just can't give more than one star after being ignored for ten minutes and then ignored again on our way out of the restaurant. read more
