My wife and I were in the area and were looking for a place for breakfast. We had eaten at other First Watches before and had enjoyed the experience. We were not disappointed. My wife had the Tribeca with scrambled eggs, bacon and a carrot cake pancakes. The eggs were fluffy; the bacon was crisp and the carrot cake pancake was huge and very tasty. I had the BEC special. This was a very special enhanced Bacon Egg and Cheese sandwich with hardwood-smoked bacon, cage-free eggs, sweet peppers, arugula with Calabrian chili aioli and roasted garlic aioli on grilled sour dough bread. I came here around noon today with the party of five and sat in the back corner. We had just tried a restaurant previously that had a one to two hour wait, so we were happy to see that first watch had no wait. Additionally, the food was good. The only thing lacking about our experience with our server, Samuel. I don't think he smiled at us once. Not to say that you need to smile as a server, but his demeanor and overall presence doubled down on that feeling. It was very offputting and borderline rude. I initially ignored it, but upon seeing his response after my husband asked for another drink, I asked the others at the table if they sensed anything as well. They all agreed and had seen things I hadn't, such as facial expressions he made when we ordered, etc. He didn't check on us after ordering, he didn't offer more water (as they have those tiny little water glasses) despite mine being empty the whole meal, and he didn't even say anything when he brought the receipt (without even asking if we were together). He just came over and put it on the table and left. I think he may have overheard us discussing the service and needing boxes because he finally came over and asked if we wanted boxes . We said yes, and then he left for quite some time. I was sure that we were not getting them. When my husband got up to go find someone else to get boxes, our server saw him, then grabbing the boxes and bringing them to us. I don't have experiences like this often, and we ALWAYS tip (and well too), but today's service really had us questioning this. & I only say that because I know the stereotype in restaurants for people that look like us and I want this restaurant to know that it's not our color that resulted in the tip, it's the service. read more

We love this place both the Grant and Speedway locations. The staff is super friendly and their overall vibe is just laid back. Some of my favorite breakfast items are A.M. superfoods bowl (chia seed pudding with fruit and almond butter toast), Steel-cut oatmeal (comes with a dredged baked muffin if the day), Market Hash (seasoned potatoes, roasted crimini mushrooms, onions, and red peppers, baby spinach, melted Mozzarella and herbed Goat cheese), smoked salmon and veggie frittata, and the barbacoa chilaquiles bowl. Their coffee is good but for me their Juice & Sip menu is the highlight of their drinks I love the morning meditation. Lunch here is also good but will admit their breakfast has a chokehold on me I always go back to a breakfast items. Also you have to try their seasonal menu items. read more

I met a couple friends here for brunch, and was met with a smile from staff as soon as I walked in. We were seated promptly, and offered coffee (that was super delicious). It got busy shortly after we arrived, and our server handled it perfectly. The vibe is casual, and family friendly. I ordered the Tri-Athlete omelette, made with roasted Crimini mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and green chilies. I added jalapenos for a little kick. The omelette was SOOO good, but the mushrooms were the star for me. I got a side of grits and they were pretty good (I lived in South Carolina for years so I am a snob with grits). My friend got million dollar bacon, a biscuit and gravy and The Traditional (eggs, sausage, potatoes....you know...traditional.) :-) My other friend got french toast and a side of fruit..(they gave her KIWI's!). First Watch provides a wholesome atmosphere to get your morning started on the right track. With their diverse menu, you'll want to return to try everything on the list. Their quick service is a bonus, along with their friendly employees who ensure your dining experience goes smoothly. I've visited twice with my partner in the early mornings between 7:30-8am. There was no wait time, there was a lot of seating, and it was clean. The crowd has varied those couple visits, with one morning having barely any customers while the other was much more lively. In both cases however, I noticed there to be an older crowd- with a few tables seated with people that met up for breakfast. Servers had even greeted them in a familiar tone, evidently showing me that these were regular guests and they established a positive relationship with the staff. This is not just a place to eat, but a place to have fun and bond in this calm area of Tucson. Between both visits, I've tried their BLT Benedict, Million Dollar Potatoes, Cornbread, and their summer special Quesadilla & Tres Leches French Toast. All of them were spectacularly done well, but if I had to choose a favorite, I think I would go with their French Toast. It was so soft and sweet, but not too sugary that it numbed my taste buds. The portions were generous for a small eater like myself; I did need to carry some of the food home- not that it's a complaint. In addition to its great service & food, the lot for this restaurant is easy to park in, and its located near several other stores, including a Fry's Food & Drug Supermarket. So, this is a great spot to eat if you're in a hurry and need to get groceries right after a hearty meal. I plan on returning to First Watch, as they are a place that deserves more attention. First time at this location, so I decided to try something new also! Food: My food was amazing! This new item is so dam good! Let's just say if you're a Benedict fan Temperature: Perfect! Value: I've mentioned this before, but breakfast tends to be pricey nowadays given the state of where things are locally/nationally. After a hard Saturday morning of yard working the men decided to treat themselves to a couple of skillet breakfasts (meat/eggs atop a layer of potatoes, all served up in a small ceramic skillet). In addition to their regular fare, they had a single flyer/insert that boasted some seasonal specials. Pumpkin pancakes might have taken the day normally but we were famished and needed more than just carbs. There was an omelette with braised short rib that caught my eye too. Our waitress was a delight and so we asked her to ask the chef if he might swap out the usual Italian sausage on the Parma Skillet (since we've had that many times before) with some of that braised short rib. She returned 3-minutes later and gave the thumbs up... soooo glad the chef was cool with that quick substitution. Great/attentive service during the entire meal (waters never ran low). Stopped in for a side of toast and an over medium egg to go along the rest of my breakfast that I had from work. I wanted a fresh egg and this place was still open so it was all planned. First time going to first watch in AZ and overall wasn't impressed. My meal for the skillet was saturated in grease that made me throw up before I could finish the meal. Went to First Watch to try their seasonal raspberry French toast. They were busy but we got in fairly quickly, all the staff we met were friendly and efficient. We ordered quickly. Husband had classic trifecta I think they called it. Huge pancake the size of the plate, bacon, and eggs. He loved it, could only eat half the pancake and of course I had the raspberry French toast. Four pieces of French toast with raspberry sauce, fresh raspberries and a scoop of lemon mascarpone cheese that melted nicely on the hot French toast. It was delicious. Go try it. I have mixed feelings about my experience at First watch. The decor and atmosphere of this restaurant was quite nice. It had a farm house vibe, the tables were spread out and staff wore masks. But the food took FOREVER. We waited about 40 minutes for our food after we put in our order. My meal was just your average French toast. I was disappointed that it didn't come with eggs and sausage... you had to add it on if you wanted it. I also ordered one of their juices-the morning meditation. The drink was DELICIOUS, but I think it made me sick. About an hour after we left my stomach was not okay and I've felt pretty pukey since. Came here for a weekend brunch with friends. I like the layout of this restaurant, and it feels like a place I would go to in California. We didn't need to wait long, though before coming we did check in on the online wait list. Their menu has some solid options, and it seems like they even have a lot of gluten free options. I split a sweet dish and a savory dish with a friend, so we got the best of both worlds.
