Of the three different locations in Virginia Beach, this was my least favorite. The restaurant is clean, spacious and is currently decorated for fall. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and you have to wait to be seated. Our server was new (2nd day) and was not able to answer my questions without going back and forth to the kitchen. I ordered the Market veggie sandwich and ended up with ninety percent of it being mushrooms. It had absolutely no flavor but the toasted bread it was on was good. I got the veggie soup as a side and that was good. My husband got a breakfast sandwich with a side of seasoned potatoes and he enjoyed both. If you are a meat and egg eater, I strongly recommend this place. If you are vegetarian I would suggest going elsewhere.

I've been to this location of first watch a handful of times now. It is conveniently located in Landstown Centre near multiple other eateries and retail shops. There is ample parking in an adjacent lot. They offer covered patio seating for nice days. On each of my visits, the restaurant has been nearly empty. Recently I dined around 12 on a weekday and we were the only diners on the patio. Food has been consistently good with my favorite options being the Trifecta breakfast combo (both pancakes and waffles are light, fluffy and delicious!), avocado toast and the Tri-Athlete omelet. We recently tried the blueberry lemon cornbread from the seasonal summer menu and it was SO good.. and quite a large portion for several diners. The coffee is pretty good too. Service has been hit and miss. Most recently, we had to ask several times for items and had a hard time getting hold of our server. Prior to this experience, service was attentive and prompt. Overall, I really enjoy First Watch's menu items and dining experience. This location is definitely one I'll return to.

We chose First Watch for brunch today because we wanted to stay close to home. The weather was gorgeous, and best of all - there was no wait . As always, the food was delicious, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Thank you Camille! I highly recommend The works omelette served with organic mixed greens. My usual favorite is the bloody Mary, but the cinnamon toast, cereal milk is also a must try!

We've been here many times before in the last three years and we've always found consistent quality and freshness in everything we've tried. Our favorites are the Morning Veggie Omelette, the traditional breakfast, the breads, the greens, the fruit, the Gruyère Omelette, the Rustica... Nice staff too!

I love first watch!. This is one of their newly opened branch. We ate here Sunday brunch. We went here as a big group and luckily we got seated shortly. Our food got serve right away as well, I did tried their taco which is really good and do feeling!. Our server was good, it just little details she did forget, like our straws and lemon for water, we didn't get enough water glasses probably bc we were big party but other than that the food was good and service was fast.

First watch being a chain offers better than average brunch and lunch options with fresh ingredients and healthier fare. Came here to this location for the first time and just had a few hiccups: parking lot is small and with other busy businesses sharing the space, finding a space can be challenging. Secondly, the restaurant is busy and it did take a while before someone showed up just to get our drink order (15 minutes and we even had to flag someone down). And third, maybe we are living in a time we're staff is always short but little mistakes and NEVER getting our water can be a nuisance. Otherwise this is usually a good choice to hang out in a clean setting with country-chic decor and otherwise very nice people.

My daughter and I visited this location quickly before a busy day. Since it was nearing lunchtime I decided to go with the half salad half sandwich. The kale salad was light but filling with the perfect crunch. The sandwich was Lao super yummy; both the perfect amount. My daughter had the pancakes and enjoyed them but couldn't finish them. Her appetite isn't as big. We walked right in and were seated immediately. The service was good, prompt, professional.

Came early on a Sunday morning. No wait which was nice. We did have the wait list pulled up to join just in case, but we didn't need it. We get seated and we sit for a while. Nobody greets us. Eventually we're greeted and give our entire order to the waiter. He got all the drinks except my water. The kids food come out quick, and they're eating. Our food comes out slightly staggered and I have to ask for my water. He brings it out sans the glass milk bottle for water refills, and the cup is filled to the brim with ice. I took a few sips and ran out of water, a bit annoyed but it's fine. My kiddo got the kids grilled cheese. She'd often get this when we lived in Georgia. However today, she didn't eat it. She picked at her fruit and she just wasn't a fan. I wish she spoke up more before we all finished eating. I had the biscuits with turkey gravy. The biscuits were so dry. I don't usually eat all the gravy, but I felt myself desperately trying to find a way to curb the dryness. The potatoes I didn't care for, but the eggs were really good. Service was mediocre. The guy was nice when he came by don't get me wrong, but it wasn't often he'd stop by. My daughter and I didn't love our restaurant date and I don't think we'll come back to this location either.

    Carnitas Tacos Hash
    Rebecca C.

It was definitely not busy, compared to the amount of people you see on the weekends. That was great because we got seated almost immediately. I ordered the carnitas tacos hash, and my husband ordered the French toast. I wanted to like the hash, but the flavor profile wasn't doing it for me. The pineapple was throwing off the savory taste of the carnitas, and the potatoes were a little over salted. Other than that, the plating was beautiful. Wish the flavor was there, but there are plenty of other dishes I've liked in the past. Don't let that stop you from trying them out. The soda machine wasn't working properly, and my husband's sprite tasted like carbonated water. We let the waiter know and offered to get him something else. We just decided to stick with water. Just a heads up for those of you trying to go today.

My fiancé has been to First Watch and as a stocking stuffer for Christmas I was given a gift card to try them out. I've always wanted to try First Watch because my sister raves about how good they are and how she enjoyed going. We went on a Sunday at 7AM right when they opened. From what I've heard it is usually slammed busy, but it was not the case (must have a lucky streak going on). Upon entering the restaurant, we were seated relatively quick. The waitress sat our menus down and gave us a minute to look at what drinks we wanted. I was not going to be adventurous, but my fiancé wanted to try a morning cocktail, which was not half bad. After he squeezed the lime into the drink, he devoured the beverage. Our waitress was very patient with us and gave us recommendations on what was new and it was appreciated! I'm more of a chicken person and there were not many chicken options on the menu, at least what I could see. I ordered the Farmhouse Hash and my fiancé ordered the Floridian French Toast. I will say both of these items were delicious! I would probably go back and order another Hash, the only downside to the Hash was that it felt like it had a little too much salt, but it didn't stop me from eating it. The avocado really helped balance the dish and I wish I had a little more because I forgot how much I really enjoy avocado. Overall I gave First Watch a 5/5 because I enjoyed their food, the service was great, the staff was nice, and the restaurant was clean. Can't ask for anything more.

    Classic Eggs Benedict
    Morgan L.

I've been to a different first watch a few times and had an okay experience. We decided to try out this one because we got a coupon in the mail. Our breakfast this morning was so delicious! I've been wanting eggs benedict and just got the classic. I ordered it with potatoes on the side. They brought out my plate with greens on the side and once we let them know of the mistake they brought out a side of potatoes and let me keep the greens. Honestly, the greens were SO good with the eggs benedict, it was such an amazing pairing. The greens were lightly coated in a lemony sauce which tasted so good with the savoriness of the ham, eggs, and hollandaise sauce. My husband got the chickichanga which he thought was delicious. We got a pancake to share on the side which was also very good, but we ended up taking it to go because we were so full from our entrees. Their hot coffee was decent, and their water tasted really fresh. It was pretty busy when we went but they were able to sit the 2 of us pretty quickly. The ambiance was just like any other normal brunch atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back to this first watch when our family comes in town!

    Chile Chorizo

I always go to First Watch on weekends after I do my sunrise run. I've been on all their locations in Virginia Beach and this is my 3rd time here in Landstown branch since they've opened. Service is always great in all locations including here in Landstown. Love the ambiance as well. Food is great and I like that they have seasonal items to offer besides the regular items. This morning I tried the Chile Chorizo omelet for the first time and I like it. The only thing is I wish there's more chorizo in it. I gave this feedback to my server Makayla and she was quick to offer some more chorizo to add to my omelet. It just went from 4-star to 5-star.

The works omelette with seasoned potatoes, yum!

This is one of my favorite brunch spots. I usually go to the one at Summit point in Chesapeake, but I had to try this one since it's new. They have the best coffee of any breakfast brunch location in the 757. Their food is great with fresh ingredients the service is wonderful, I just love the people there. I didn't have very long of a wait at this location.Very happy today!

Although we sat outside (because we were dining with a dog), we never had to wait too long for the waitress to check on us. Every 5-10 minutes, she dropped by to make sure things were going well and to refill our coffee. Since The Egg Bistro has a HUGE breakfast menu, I'm sure everyone should be able to find something that they will/might enjoy. For my dining pleasure, I tried something new and went with the Bennie & the Grits. This dish piqued my interest because I never heard of grits cakes in the four decades of living on this planet. For about 20 bucks, the dish included three fried grit cakes with ground sausage, grilled shrimp, more sausage, two poached eggs and a side. Although the serving size was HUGE, I was not a bit fan of the dish. Note, I didn't think the dish was prepared badly, I just didn't get the concept of the fried grits (this from a grits lover); however, everything else with the dish was pretty good. If you are a Bloody Mary lover, you might some interesting varieties of Bloody Marys here. Additionally, I really appreciated that The Egg Bistro ranks the Bloody Marys based on spice level. Overall, I definitely would not mind visiting this location during a future trip to Va Beach. The only (very) minor issue that I had was that the outdoor seating is right next to the parking lot so you might experience some exhaust fumes/smoke while eating if you chose to dine outside. Again, this would not have been a (very) minor issue if we were not dining with a dog.

Plant Bingo at Sage Kitchen was a fun evening overall. Check-in was smooth, and the staff did a…read moregreat job explaining how the game worked and what to expect before everything got started. The game itself was lively, well-paced, and everyone seemed to have a great time. The patio where the event was held is beautiful, and it was spacious enough for the crowd. The only downside to the seating was that some guests ended up behind a wall where they could hear the caller but couldn't actually see her or the plants being awarded. One suggestion that I think would make the event even better is the prize structure. When there are ties, the winners have to play rock-paper-scissors to determine who gets the plant. While that's part of the fun, I felt bad for the people who won their bingo card but ultimately went home with a donated T-shirt, soil, or plant food instead of a plant. Even a small, inexpensive plant for the runner-up would make the experience feel more rewarding, especially since the event is centered around plants. The food and service were a bit of a mixed experience. I ordered the California Club with sweet potato fries, and it was delicious. However, the menu was more limited than expected, and we were told some of the regular menu items (including the tacos!) weren't available during the event. Our server was genuinely pleasant and did the best she could, but she appeared to be covering more tables than one person reasonably should. Service was slow, and we had to remind her about our drinks after our food had already arrived. It felt more like a staffing issue than a service issue. One thing I didn't care for was the payment process. We were only brought a credit card slip with the total to add a tip and sign after our card had already been charged. We had to specifically ask for an itemized receipt to review the charges. I would have preferred the opportunity to see the bill before my card was run or at least have the option to use a different payment method. The event advertising was also a little misleading. The description said, "Join us for 20 rounds of bingo, raffle entries, plant prizes, tacos & drinks!" Based on that wording, it certainly sounded like tacos and non-alcoholic beverages were included with the ticket price. Instead, everything had to be purchased separately, and we were told the tacos (which are on the regular restaurant menu) weren't even available during the event due to the limited event menu. Clarifying that food and drinks are available for purchase would help set better expectations. Despite those issues, we genuinely enjoyed ourselves. I was fortunate enough to win one of the plants, and it's beautiful. My suggestions are simply things I think would make an already fun event even better for everyone. The energy of Plant Bingo, the beautiful patio, the organized check-in, and the friendly atmosphere made for an enjoyable evening, and with a few improvements to the prize distribution, staffing, payment process, and event advertising, it could easily become an even better experience.

I recently attended plant bingo hosted at Sage Kitchen located inside the Anderson garden Center…read more  I was promptly greeted and directed to the check-in table. The check-in process was seamless; my group received our bingo cards and the flyer outlining the 20 game plays, and we appreciated the flexibility of the indoor and outdoor seating. The service was both friendly and efficient. We were required to start a tab; I was unsure if this is standard policy or specific to the event, but either way it worked out well. I ordered the Baja bowl: grilled chicken, black beans, corn, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and avocado served on cilantro-lime rice topped with tortilla strips and Aji Verde sauce. My bowl was delicious, fresh and portioned just right. The plant selections for the prizes were great, I actually won a Pothos Yellow Flame. I do have two suggestions: 1. Consider having extra plant prizes available for tie-breaking rounds instead of playing rock-paper-scissors. If you win you deserve a plant. 2. It would be helpful if guests were provided with a copy of their bill to verify for accuracy before their card is charged and the tab is closed. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the event. I look forward to returning to Sage Kitchen soon.

I ordered the Williamsburg Bagel, which consisted of lox, plain cream cheese, tomato, capers, and red onion. I originally wanted it on an Everything bagel, but since they were out, I went with a Garlic bagel instead. Even though it was a tad bit crowded, my sandwich was ready in about 5 mins. I've had the Williamsburg Bagel before so I was excited to enjoy it again but I wasn't a big fan of the thick-cut red onions they added on there, and I actually love onions! Unfortunately, I ended up taking most of them off. I also wish it had more cream cheese, the thin layer on the bottom just wasn't enough for me. That said, the bagel itself was fresh and overall, the sandwich tasted good. At almost $20, it did feel a little pricey for a bagel sandwich, but I enjoyed it. My husband and a friend came here on a Thursday morning to order 6 items and they were gone for almost an hour (it was a 10 minute drive from where we stayed). They come back with a bag of "bagels" (if that's what you want to call them) drenched in ketchup. Our orders were extremely simple: BEC w/PK on a plain bagel Egg and cheese on a croissant BEC w/PK on an asiago bagel Taylored Ham, egg & cheese on a bagel Toasted everything bagel with lox & cream cheese Here is everything that went wrong: 1. The bagel store didn't offer BACON, so we ended up substituting for sausage. The sausage patty was probably the size of my kid's palm- that's how small it was. The eggs were overcooked and had no taste, but don't worry, they'll make sure to smother the entire bagel with ketchup to make up for it. 2. TOASTED bagel with lox & cream cheese- bagel was not toasted, and there wasn't any lox available. 3. Egg & cheese on a croissant- the place didn't have any croissants... so had to substitute this for a roll 4. It was the chef's second day in the kitchen. Bagels alone wasn't great quality..it was edible enough, but extremely chewy and stiff, especially after taking so long to prepare the orders and with two people working in a place that is seemingly popular with the Yelp Community, the amount of time it took this order to be ready was a little ridiculous. I ordered the same thing back home the following day and it took less time to make here in NJ than it did here on a non-busy day with just my husband and friend as their sole customer at the time.
