Chicken Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl
Jarek M.

Good breakfast, good mood. Service and atmosphere: This is clean and well organised restaurant with plenty of room for many guests. The staff were friendly and polite which made the service and atmosphere very enjoyable. Food and drinks: The menu was well structured. It was easy to read it and make quick food choices, which were pretty good I must say. I appreciated that you can choose dishes made with locally sourced and organic ingredients. I could definitely taste the quality of produce used. I opted for pesto bowl with quinoa, veggies, grilled chicken and added eggs. I was not disappointed. You have to try their fair trade coffee. They also offer alcoholic beverages. Pricing: $$ not overpriced and well worth it.

I love First Watch. Every location that I've been to has been consistent with quality of food and service. I took myself on a brunch date and ordered my usual farm stand breakfast tacos (without chorizo). I wanted to try a juice too and the tangerine dream juice looked interesting to me so I wanted to try it. It was so delicious and refreshing. I hope it will be on the menu permanently and not as a seasonal item.

Bacado Omelette

First time reviewing, but have been here a couple of times before. Bacado- great protein dish, just not a lot of flavor. However, the potatoes are always Eggs Benedict was good, but not great. The new thing we tried was the lemon iced cinnamon roll. Super stingy on the icing, and my preference is gooey, soft cinnamon roll. This was crisp on outside and not gooey on inside. Their juices are really good, and the superfood bowl is excellent, if looking for a healthier brekkie. Service is always iffy here, we have sat for 15 minutes until someone comes for our drink order. Greatest thing is they ALWAYS have superb music playing, not the typical stuff.

Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos

It was my last morning in Texas before heading back home and we were looking for a good looking breakfast joint and this place was our first and only choice. We arrived closer to noon and the restaurant was less than half full but the hostess asked for the name and number to enter me into the waitlist but was seated right away. Here's what I ordered for myself: **Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos: Delicious! Generally not a huge fan of chorizo but the tacos were amazing! The addition of fresh avocado slices and their housemade pico de gallo was the perfect touch! The beans on the side were also very delicious! (5/5) **Bob's Red Mill Buttered Grits: Not the best grits I've ever had but certainly not the worst. (3/5) Forgot the name of our server but the guy was amazing. He checked up on us very often and provided excellent service!

The food is ok. Been here quite a few times. Seems over priced for what it is. The seats a lot uncomfortable. The service is ok. Not my favorite place. I'm sure I'll be back but I can think of a few places that are less expensive and taste better

an update to my previous review a few years ago - we decided to try First Watch for brunch on our day off. i was hoping for some gluten free pancakes or waffles- but they don't offer those. they do however have the option for gluten free toast, quinoa breakfast bowls that are gluten free, and most of their omelets seem gluten free as well. they do have an allergen menu available here https://firstwatch.com/nutrition-and-allergens/ i had the upgraded egg sandwich, with gluten free bread and a side of fruit. it was ok, but nothing to write home about. next time i'll try an omelet with a side of gf toast. the presentation left a lot to be desired but us gf beggars can't be choosers i guess. they don't have any specialty hot coffees, only iced coffees. drip brew is the only hot coffee. they do not have splenda or sweet and low, only sugar and stevia. my partner had one of their fresh juices, the blue booster - which featured blueberries. it was delicious. the service was greatly improved from the last visit, although we were seated directly below a speaker that had music so loud we could barely hold a conversation. they had some gluten free goodies at the check out register too. we might try again for lunch.

This is our second location dining at First Watch ( Charleston West Virginia ) & our experience was the same both times, perfect. We were seated promptly & ordered the Roast Beef Havarti sandwich & the Avocado Toast as well as their famous Million Dollar Bacon. Our meals were quickly delivered to us & everything was very, very good. If you're staying in the Houston area and you're heading to the Johnson Space Center give First Watch a try, because you will not be disappointed.

Food was good, but rather overpriced. You could get just as good of a meal and more food for less money at IHOP.

The cookie was baked to soft perfection. I went with a friend who thankfully knew to join the waitlist about an hour before we planned to arrive, which made the wait very manageable. Had we not known that important little tip, we probably would've been waiting close to an hour. Overall, it was such a pleasant experience, and I'd definitely go back again.

Let me preface this review by stating that I have been to this establishment multiple times & had…read moreglowing, amazing service each time. However, my last experience with this establishment left a horrible taste in my mouth. Therefore, I am giving them an extra star for the previous experiences. On May 17th, 2026, my best friend and I had been looking forward to coming to Water Oak all day and had our taste buds set for the occasion. We were famished and had quite a day up until arriving. Upon entering the restaurant, we were very briefly greeted by the a Hispanic man who I assume is the manager and told that they were "no longer seating for the day". I glanced around and saw that every table inside WAS seated, however there were many tables outside that were empty. I asked about the patio stating that us where we preferred to sit anyway, and was met with that they were also not seating the patio at all for the rest of the day. However, there was a group of 3 women seated outside on the patio at that exact time. I didn't say anything, simply turned and left. After having "one of those days" hashing out something so minute with a person who clearly didn't want us in their place of business was not something I was about to do. Keep in mind, we came on a Sunday afternoon. Prime brunch time. We arrived at the restaurant around 2:30PM, and their website says they don't close until 4PM. I am a biracial black woman and my friend is white. I noticed a significant amount of White and Latino patrons, but a shocking lack of Black people. With Houston having one of the most diverse populations in the US, it is almost impossible not to see at least one individual of each ethnicity in a place at any given time. I am definitely not one that likes to pull the race card, because oftentimes that is not the issue. However, as someone who is familiar with the service industry I understand Sundays can be extremely overwhelming. And I am cognizant that not everything is that serious. But, I am also aware that a lot of people in the industry discriminate against people of color, with stigmas that we don't leave enough gratuity or we "don't fit the vibe of their establishment". And those 3 women seated on the patio? All White. After reading recent reviews, it seems that management is discriminating against people of color, more specifically Black folks. This is an extremely disheartening and sickening realization to make, seeing as I have given well over $1,000 worth of my money here but also enjoyed many meals without issue. To management: It breaks my heart to have to write this review and to be honest, I wouldn't have written it if I hadn't seen others posting about similar experiences in addition to also feeling discriminated against. I highly suggest that if you are "not seating" after a specific time, you announce this via social media or alert potential patrons with a sign or something of the sort. & obviously, there is such an issue with treatment towards POC that it is a noteworthy problem via your Google & Yelp reviews. You will have a much bigger fish to fry on your hands if you continue to let this issue go on unrectified. I would be willing to return if I felt things were to be changed for the better in the future! Hopefully this review sparks a much needed conversation and brings attention to an area which needs work.

At the time I drove into Houston to find dark chocolates so I was thrilled to see Tifa had opened up nearby and I bookmarked it to try out as soon as I had a chance. My birthday is today so as a treat to myself I grabbed my cousin and she came with me to try out Tifa after dinner. It was perfect. Plenty of parking as it's near a bunch of great dining spots. It's bright and smells amazing inside and you're greeted warmly with kind words and the biggest most beautiful smile from the owner as you walk in. I was overwhelmed from viewing all the amazing things they had on their website so I went in with a game plan, chocolates/truffles only and taste test the gelato. My cousin surprised me by buying my 7-piece chocolate box which included an eggnog dark chocolate truffle, peppermint bark chocolate, dark chocolate pumpkin, wild strawberry dark chocolate, tiramisu dark chocolate, raspberry dark chocolate, and an amaretto milk chocolate. I also grabbed an Element rose cardamom dark chocolate bar. The owner securely kept our chocolates for us at the register and we moved forward to join the gelato line to try all the gelato samples we wanted. (There was no line at all when we first arrived I should add). I tried several of the gelatos. All were amazing. My favorites were the stracciatella and Casablanca bloom. My oh my, they each had the perfect and most incredible blend of flavors. Their lemon gelato was also so refreshing. I'll definitely be back to buy a scoop of each and perhaps with some drinking chocolate over them. I've gotta try that out since I've never had it before. They have so many ways to flavor their drinking chocolates, you start with dark, milk or white chocolate and can add any of their wide assortment of flavors and believe me they have a very wide variety. They also have lattes and such as well. The staff was super kind and helpful. I wish I had caught their names so I could recognize them here but since I did not if you worked at Tifa around 9PM on Dec 13, 2025 huge kudos to you! You are great at your job and provided me and my cousin exceptional service! Much appreciated especially during the holiday season and a day before my birthday. I try to stay away from too much sugar but Tifa is a precious gem and is definitely a spot I'll return to again and again. Thanks so much Tifa staff and happy holidays!

The selection of gelato flavors that you'll find are so unique, and have richness that you can tell were hand mixed. From talking with the owner, Sanaa, she told us about her story in how she got her shop set up, her design and vision, and the motivation behind the shop. She told us that this is supposed to be a dessert cafe, not just a gelato shop. At the front, they have their selection of chocolates, which I unfortunately did not get to fully explore this time around, but seemed to have been popular at the time we were there. Immediately adjacent, the gelato and sorbets are found, which Sanaa explained to us come from a database of 360 total flavors that periodically rotate about 1-2 every week, with a selection of 24 on any given day. At the end, they have their baked goods, from cookies to brownies. They also sell coffees and matchas among other drinks. We tried the gelato this time around, and plan on trying some of the other items, such as the matcha, the cookies, and maybe some of the chocolates. The gelato selection alone needs time to explore fully, but we ended up settling on the Casablanca, which was recommended by Sanaa as her hometown flavor, the s'mores, and the cookie monster. These three flavors were all 10/10s, I was shocked. The texture of the gelatos, first of all, were all on point, from the temperature, to the aeration, and the incorporation of the mixins was perfect. The flavor of the casablanca resembled that of a cinnamon sweet cream, and was very good, a personal favorite. The s'mores was also very good, and was not overly sweet. Lastly the cookie monster was so good. The three flavors overall were great and I'm going to have a hard time picking whether to get these flavors or try some of the other great ones, such as strawberry matcha and cookie butter which caught my eye. All in all, I am pleasantly surprised we stumbled across this exceptional dessert spot. I will be frequenting this place and recommending it to anyone thats in the area, truly a hidden gem.
