First Watch Clear Lake was packed this holiday Friday morning and we did have a little wait to get our table. It took a while for our waiter to take our drink orders and it seemed like a while before the drinks came out. We ordered the Honey Butter Biscuit Bites for an appetizer. We loved them especially the honey butter. For our entrees we ordered the Market Hash which was excellent and the Lemon Ricotta pancakes also delicious. I had the Tri-Athlete which I loved. My wife did not like her Salmon and Veggie Fritatta and felt the eggs were overcooked. My daughter's Healthy Turkey had no turkey in the omelette. I also ordered the Purple Haze to drink which was nice and refreshing. Overall the food was okay, but the mistake on the turkey was disappointing. They did bring out a separate side of turkey when we told them to make up for the error. This was the first time we had a bad experience at First Watch but it soured our taste for that place.

Good breakfast, good mood. Service and atmosphere: This is clean and well organised restaurant with plenty of room for many guests. The staff were friendly and polite which made the service and atmosphere very enjoyable. Food and drinks: The menu was well structured. It was easy to read it and make quick food choices, which were pretty good I must say. I appreciated that you can choose dishes made with locally sourced and organic ingredients. I could definitely taste the quality of produce used. I opted for pesto bowl with quinoa, veggies, grilled chicken and added eggs. I was not disappointed. You have to try their fair trade coffee. They also offer alcoholic beverages. Pricing: $$ not overpriced and well worth it.

I'll always choose this location over any other I have been to. The customer services is top tier! Food is amazing! Highly recommend this place. I always go for the biscuits and gravy, SO GOOD!!!

First time reviewing, but have been here a couple of times before. Bacado- great protein dish, just not a lot of flavor. However, the potatoes are always Eggs Benedict was good, but not great. The new thing we tried was the lemon iced cinnamon roll. Super stingy on the icing, and my preference is gooey, soft cinnamon roll. This was crisp on outside and not gooey on inside. Their juices are really good, and the superfood bowl is excellent, if looking for a healthier brekkie. Service is always iffy here, we have sat for 15 minutes until someone comes for our drink order. Greatest thing is they ALWAYS have superb music playing, not the typical stuff.

It was my last morning in Texas before heading back home and we were looking for a good looking breakfast joint and this place was our first and only choice. We arrived closer to noon and the restaurant was less than half full but the hostess asked for the name and number to enter me into the waitlist but was seated right away. Here's what I ordered for myself: **Farm Stand Breakfast Tacos: Delicious! Generally not a huge fan of chorizo but the tacos were amazing! The addition of fresh avocado slices and their housemade pico de gallo was the perfect touch! The beans on the side were also very delicious! (5/5) **Bob's Red Mill Buttered Grits: Not the best grits I've ever had but certainly not the worst. (3/5) Forgot the name of our server but the guy was amazing. He checked up on us very often and provided excellent service!

First Watch was absolutely wonderful. The omelettes and coffee are phenomenal. This is my favorite place in Clear Lake for brunch (by far). The servers are always wonderful at First Watch. Marisa took unbelievable care of us today and was professional and super helpful to our group members who had never been to eat here before. The ambiance is relaxing and busy (but not too loud or chaotic). I'll definitely be back here soon.

The food is ok. Been here quite a few times. Seems over priced for what it is. The seats a lot uncomfortable. The service is ok. Not my favorite place. I'm sure I'll be back but I can think of a few places that are less expensive and taste better

The cookie was baked to soft perfection. I went with a friend who thankfully knew to join the waitlist about an hour before we planned to arrive, which made the wait very manageable. Had we not known that important little tip, we probably would've been waiting close to an hour. Overall, it was such a pleasant experience, and I'd definitely go back again.

Let me preface this review by stating that I have been to this establishment multiple times & had…read moreglowing, amazing service each time. However, my last experience with this establishment left a horrible taste in my mouth. Therefore, I am giving them an extra star for the previous experiences. On May 17th, 2026, my best friend and I had been looking forward to coming to Water Oak all day and had our taste buds set for the occasion. We were famished and had quite a day up until arriving. Upon entering the restaurant, we were very briefly greeted by the a Hispanic man who I assume is the manager and told that they were "no longer seating for the day". I glanced around and saw that every table inside WAS seated, however there were many tables outside that were empty. I asked about the patio stating that us where we preferred to sit anyway, and was met with that they were also not seating the patio at all for the rest of the day. However, there was a group of 3 women seated outside on the patio at that exact time. I didn't say anything, simply turned and left. After having "one of those days" hashing out something so minute with a person who clearly didn't want us in their place of business was not something I was about to do. Keep in mind, we came on a Sunday afternoon. Prime brunch time. We arrived at the restaurant around 2:30PM, and their website says they don't close until 4PM. I am a biracial black woman and my friend is white. I noticed a significant amount of White and Latino patrons, but a shocking lack of Black people. With Houston having one of the most diverse populations in the US, it is almost impossible not to see at least one individual of each ethnicity in a place at any given time. I am definitely not one that likes to pull the race card, because oftentimes that is not the issue. However, as someone who is familiar with the service industry I understand Sundays can be extremely overwhelming. And I am cognizant that not everything is that serious. But, I am also aware that a lot of people in the industry discriminate against people of color, with stigmas that we don't leave enough gratuity or we "don't fit the vibe of their establishment". And those 3 women seated on the patio? All White. After reading recent reviews, it seems that management is discriminating against people of color, more specifically Black folks. This is an extremely disheartening and sickening realization to make, seeing as I have given well over $1,000 worth of my money here but also enjoyed many meals without issue. To management: It breaks my heart to have to write this review and to be honest, I wouldn't have written it if I hadn't seen others posting about similar experiences in addition to also feeling discriminated against. I highly suggest that if you are "not seating" after a specific time, you announce this via social media or alert potential patrons with a sign or something of the sort. & obviously, there is such an issue with treatment towards POC that it is a noteworthy problem via your Google & Yelp reviews. You will have a much bigger fish to fry on your hands if you continue to let this issue go on unrectified. I would be willing to return if I felt things were to be changed for the better in the future! Hopefully this review sparks a much needed conversation and brings attention to an area which needs work.

At the time I drove into Houston to find dark chocolates so I was thrilled to see Tifa had opened up nearby and I bookmarked it to try out as soon as I had a chance. My birthday is today so as a treat to myself I grabbed my cousin and she came with me to try out Tifa after dinner. It was perfect. Plenty of parking as it's near a bunch of great dining spots. It's bright and smells amazing inside and you're greeted warmly with kind words and the biggest most beautiful smile from the owner as you walk in. I was overwhelmed from viewing all the amazing things they had on their website so I went in with a game plan, chocolates/truffles only and taste test the gelato. My cousin surprised me by buying my 7-piece chocolate box which included an eggnog dark chocolate truffle, peppermint bark chocolate, dark chocolate pumpkin, wild strawberry dark chocolate, tiramisu dark chocolate, raspberry dark chocolate, and an amaretto milk chocolate. I also grabbed an Element rose cardamom dark chocolate bar. The owner securely kept our chocolates for us at the register and we moved forward to join the gelato line to try all the gelato samples we wanted. (There was no line at all when we first arrived I should add). I tried several of the gelatos. All were amazing. My favorites were the stracciatella and Casablanca bloom. My oh my, they each had the perfect and most incredible blend of flavors. Their lemon gelato was also so refreshing. I'll definitely be back to buy a scoop of each and perhaps with some drinking chocolate over them. I've gotta try that out since I've never had it before. They have so many ways to flavor their drinking chocolates, you start with dark, milk or white chocolate and can add any of their wide assortment of flavors and believe me they have a very wide variety. They also have lattes and such as well. The staff was super kind and helpful. I try to stay away from too much sugar but Tifa is a precious gem and is definitely a spot I'll return to again and again. Thanks so much Tifa staff and happy holidays!

Glad it did! First, the wait time - we showed up on a Sunday morning, right after some kind of race in the area. They told us the wait would be about 45 minutes to an hour, and we waited 55 minutes. No big deal - at least their estimate was accurate. But beware if you're on a time crunch on a weekend at brunch time :) Great hash! I had CHRISTINA'S TAMALE CAKES (Benedict), and loved it. It was top two of my meals in this visit to Texas. The carnitas were flavorful, the poached eggs were perfect, the corn bread base on the tamale wrapper was awesome. If I could improve the dish - and that would be hard to do - I would ask for a bit more of that delicious green chile Hollandaise sauce on top, which I would buy by the jug if I could. The smashed potatoes were excellent - very well seasoned and oiled and salty to go with the sweet from my main dish. My companion loved her hash dish and I scooped up some of her sauce to eat the last few bites of my cornbread. Loudness - This place was LOUD. They had a DJ spinning some great music choices - but I couldn't really converse with my wife during breakfast. I am well aware that I sound old and crotchety. I love the clubs - but this was like being in a club during brunch. Hygiene - The hostess at the front desk station was on her phone the entire 55 minutes we were waiting. My wife dropped a pair of tongs on the floor from the Bloody Mary bar. Another lady picked them up, and told the lady behind the station that it had fallen on the floor. She didn't wash it - she just stuck them back in the jar where people are grabbing the food for their Bloody Marys. In hindsight - I don't know if I would have taken advantage of the endless toppings on the bloody Mary bar.

The food was highly overpriced. I ordered biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs... $14... Biscuits…read morewere very large and hard, gravy was very thick and cold and scrambled eggs were overcooked. Our waiter took our order and never came back one time in 57 minutes, until he brought the bill. My friend ordered some kind of hash with two over easy eggs ... $21.00 The hash showed up as some potatoes with a chunk of meat and one over easy egg with one over hard egg. My friend ask for some Tabasco or hot sauce and they brought him something in a cup that appeared to have soy sauce in it. Again I will say this : highly overpriced, mediocre food and very poor service. i've never written a review like this in my entire life. But I truly felt obliged to say that this is a place that I will never bother to go to again.
