I went for the lemon pepper wings, chicken tenders and fried rice. The wings were seasoned well just on the small side while the chicken tenders were a pretty nice size. This place for the first time eating there is disgusting. Never again order this type of food in the evening. I can definitely tell that the grease they used was old and the wings was Over cooked and didn't taste like lemon pepper seasoning. It gave me a headache and stomach ache. The pictures outside of the restaurant what hype me up but what I experience didn't match what I saw. My advice to the staff to make sure you change your oil frequently and not serve your customers old food when they chose to order in the evening. read more

This place has some of the best gumbo I've ever had. Everything here is fresh and you can clearly notice the difference in things like their French fries and fried catfish. Everything just has a perfect crispiness to it, especially the chicken tenders. the wings here are also very very good. mango habanero is the flavor we always order and they're super tasty. Food here is simple, yet very flavorful. They also have this thing where they keep tabs of the amount of money you've spent in the store, which you get points for, and can eventually use to buy other things. Just in the two times I've been there, I've already saved enough points for a free gumbo lol. Oh and btw, on Tuesdays they have boneless wings for 40 cents each. Can't beat that. Just moved to area and found this restaurant near the house. Food and value are great. So far we have tried catfish, boudin balls, fried oysters, fired shrimp, Korean wings, and gumbo. All great except gumbo. We like our gumbo bit more Cajun. Will continue to get food here. read more

I really enjoyed this restaurant and I think this may be our new fried fish to go place. The advantage alone of the very inexpensive choose your own side and fish platter makes this a great deal for our family. (We are a picky family and all want different things). Between all of the platters we tried the catfish, tilapia, oysters, and shrimp and all were tasty. The shrimp was a little over done but we also got it to go so that makes sense. No complaints really about the shrimp honestly bc once it was dunked in either the amazing remoulade or cocktail sauce it was just perfect. For the sides we had hush puppies, coleslaw, and onion rings. The hush puppies and onion rings were on point and devoured in minutes. The coleslaw was a little too sweet for our taste. Also as noted above we had this order to go and it was packed to perfection. So why four stars instead of five? Honestly if I could give a 4.75/5 I would! It was that good. But I was just hoping for bigger filets of fish. Especially with the tilapia. That's my only complaint and it's really not a big deal at all. We will definitely eat here again. read more

I got the teriyaki beef fried rice and the cup of gumbo. The cup of gumbo is a fair amount for a cup size. Definitely not big enough to be a whole meal. It does however have three types of meat in it: dark shredded chicken, sausage, and shrimp. The garlic bread that came with it was good. The gumbo was good too, had a kick to it which I appreciated. I still put some hot sauce in it though. The teriyaki fried rice was great, cheap, and a decent portion. The fried rice was well cooked, not too mushy which i also appreciated. I loved the sauteed carrots and onions on top with the meat. They do not skimp on the meat here. The beef wasn't as tender as I would have liked, but for a 6.99 price- it was pretty dang good for my belly and my pocket. They have cool deals every day. Fish and Chicks is one of my favorite local spots. When my boyfriend and I first discovered it, we would eat it multiple times a week; the manager even began recognizing our faces LOL. We lived walking distance so that didn't help, but since moving we don't eat it as often. However, I've been craving it and can't wait to return! Food is always hot and fresh. I have not had 1 complaint since my first experience in 2018!! That's unheard of. I will be returning soon to soothe my cravings. read more

The fried food was good. I like the batter they use. But but I'm giving a bad review for customer service. The cocktail sauce is horrible (not at all like cocktail sauce which is easy to prepare) but that's besides the point. My side was red beans and rice, i tried one bite literally and it was trash, just really nasty tasting, not like typical red beans and rice. So I asked the manager if I could get a replacement side because I really disliked the taste of the beans. He asked "did you touch it?" I have had three unique experiences with Fish & Chicks. The first time I blew it off, but on the today it was a little hard to use that same mindset. My issue with Fish & Chicks is how the food is delivered to individuals eating in and those with takeouts selectively. Today, at 2:15 pm, the establishment was not busy, three customers total; one eating in, two (including me) with take out. As orders were completed they were delivered to the other customers and when my order was ready, I was called to the counter to retrieve my order. While I try not to look at situations like this from an ethnic standpoint, it is hard not too as this is not a one-off. My order was more expensive than the individual's take-out before me, so I cannot put it on economics. Perhaps it is just best that I move my business somewhere else, where service is provided to everyone in a fair and equitable manner. I stood at the counter for a while without even being acknowledged!! The guy stood there looked me straight in the face and continued his conversation. He was taking an order, so I understood that part. I waited for another few minutes just because I know about to go orders and filling them is crucial. However, you should always acknowledge your patrons. Even if it's a smile and the 1 finger you put up to signify that you'll be with them in a minute. (I accept that when on the phone.) The gumbo is not gumbo. More akin to chicken soup with shrimp. Not bad just not gumbo. Everything else we've tried has been good.
