Probably the easiest 5 stars I've ever given. Where do I even begin. I'm visiting Kauai and my friends (locals with incredible taste) recommended this place and I've eaten here 3 nights so far. It's an absolute must if you're visiting anywhere in Kauai. Firstly, absolutely amazing vibes. Really beautiful relaxed locals energy. It's open and bright and has a little market/Deli with such great local products, I bought all my gifts to take home here. Secondly, one of the best service experiences I've ever had. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, and attentive. When I came in during a rainstorm, they immediately passed me a towel to dry off and helped us get seated. Our server Lele is an absolute gem and even if the food hadn't been total perfection I would have come back just because of her! Warm, welcoming, and friendly, Lele gave us incredible recommendations, guided us through the menu, and even great suggestions about things to do while in town. She made the whole experience really special . Finally, the food. Delicious. Local. Seasonal. Flavorful. They have new specials every day. Since I came in multiple times I got to try a bunch of things and every single one was crave-worthy and delicious. The salad dressing on the house salad is one of the best I've ever had. The French fries are...big statement here...probably the best I've ever had. French fry preferences are a very personal thing, but these hit the mark for me. The ahi bruschetta was a perfect light refreshing meal. The fried chicken sandwich and burger had me thinking about them days later. The chowder soup was perfectly creamy and full of umami flavor. The drinks were great. If you don't come here you're seriously missing out.

Ahi fish and chips and kale salad - always a must when I come to Fish Bar. Along with the kind servers, fish is always the freshest. One of my favorites when I come down to Kapa'a!

Cute bar/market/restaurant in Kapaa. We popped in for happy hour and tried out multiple Offerings. I loved my gin cucumber cocktail, the single patty burger, the fries were to die for. Servers were busy but checked in often enough. I'd recommend and this spot was recommended to us!

Stumbled upon Fish Bar Deli after getting a recommendation during a chocolate tour nearby, and I'm glad we did. I ordered the Bowl Lunch with white rice, mac salad, daily poke, fried chicken, and college sauce--it was really tasty and perfect for grabbing on the go. The flavors were well-balanced and everything tasted fresh. The place was packed when we visited, so we couldn't snag a table for our large group, but that's a good sign of how popular it is with locals.

We had lunch here before and it was fantastic. Today was over the top. To start this review, every single person that worked there was so nice and cheerful. Everyone just really made us feel like they were happy we were there. The bathrooms were super clean and looked like they belonged in a day spa. Now to the food... We started with a new drink, seasonal obviously, I don't recall the name exactly, but it was an Eggnog, marshmallow martini, with house made roasted marshmallows. It had a little nutmeg, it was perfectly delicious. It left me wishing I had ordered it instead of my drink! We had the diner burger which was a flavorful juicy medium cooked double burger. We had it with their house made bbq sauce instead of the regular no. 1. The bun was like a melt in your mouth round thinner version of Hawaiian bread, minus the sweet. Just the right amount of bread, everything about it made us want to lick our fingers!! We got a side of fries, and they were so salty, hot and crispy, I asked for their house made black garlic aoli for dipping, amazing! We ordered the beef skewers and the smoked kale Cesar salad, which was so incredible Together. The salad was fresh, with just the right amount of house made dressing. Not to garlicky, just the right amount of acid, and generous fresh grated parm. Yum, yum, yum. I could eat this every day! See you tomorrow, LOL

Shocked that I haven't left a review for this place yet! I always make sure to visit FBD every time I'm on island. Every staff member is so kind and welcoming and their food is outrageously delicious. I buy plane tickets just for their fried tuna belly. The happy hour deals (5-6 pm daily) are definitely worth it! Some of my favorites are the tuna belly (duh!), rainbow salad, purple potato salad, and the fish sandwich! You can't go wrong with ordering, although, I will say the tuna melt and ceviche was less than spectacular for my taste buds. All of their cocktails are also very impressive and high-quality. Their market side and restaurant side are always kept in great condition. The ambiance in the restaurant can get very loud since it's a lot of people crowded in a rather tight space. If you're not into crowds, you can always order to-go! We'll be back FBD :)

An excellent stop for lunch! Had the ahi bruschetta and the ono club sandwich. Both outstanding! The bruschetta was two pieces loaded with tons of fresh ahi topped with fresh greens and Mac nuts and a honey dressing drizzle. The smoked ono club was super tasty served with crispy, delicious French fries. We also tried the tequila, mezcal and gin drinks that were excellently balanced and prepared! Definitely a must try!

We come here multiple times every time we're on Kauai! This is place is located in Kapaa and is also the cutest little market that is fun to explore when waiting to be seated. Our favorite things to get here are the fresh island fish sandwich, fried ahi belly, OG vegan kale salad, and the purple potato salad. The best part is that they say on their website "Scratch-made bread, locally caught fish, home-grown greens & veggies!" which is exactly what we want especially when on the island! It also says on their website "Friend to all. You'll feel like a part of the family by the time the meal is over. Our mission is to create a warm atmosphere where all are celebrated." That is exactly how we felt every time we came here and were taken care of by the amazing staff! The place is small for dining in (mostly bar seating) and you can't make a reservation as they only allow walk-ins. We'll probably order more takeout going forward because a drunk idiot came up to my gf and I and made us feel very uncomfortable (such a creepy loser!), but the food will always keep us coming back along with the incredibly nice employees! I didn't catch everyone's names unfortunately, but all the women who work here are so sweet and friendly. Lele was super awesome and made us feel very welcomed. She was working in the kitchen one night when we placed a takeout order and she brought it out and said she made it special for us. So dang sweet!! It's little things like that that keep us coming back to this woman-owned business! Every single lady we came in contact with was kind and accommodating. THANK YOU TO ALL THE BEAUTIFUL WOMEN WHO MAKE FISH BAR DELI SO SPECIAL! WE WILL BE BACK!

This place is good. The dining area is kind of small and narrow. Not a good place for a bit group; anything more than 4 will definitely be a challenge. The service was good; the staff works very hard and hustles. The food was fine, the ahi bruschetta was tasty. The two slices were on the big size for a pupu (appetizer). The ahi was good. The best was the greens with the parmesan was the best thing on the bruschetta. The drinks and interesting and made well. I felt they were very creative.

Wow this place is a gem. It's all good. Drinks. Beer. Food is on point the deli in the front is like Italy meets se Asia. The bartenders are so amazing. This was my first visit I'm coming back daily until I go home. We had the poke and deviled eggs. Unreal how good it was.

I happen to search lunch stops on Instagram and came across Lawai'a, I actually made 2 stops, the day before and the day of flight. Cute little store, very popular and busy parking lot. Lawai'a Fish Co. reminds me of Tanioka's back on Oahu. This business got so much seafood goodies along with snacks, desserts, Wow! One stop shop for everything! I also saw a post for cheap eats and had to see it for myself, hehe, the table in front has pre-packaged bento and I spot one that was $6. hard to believe nowdays. I didn't get the plate lunch which looks good too or the poke variety, we had lunch plans so first visit was spicy poke for the other half to try, the tofu poke, and $6. bento of fried ahi limu for me. I am not a fan of poke and don't eat anything raw, so jealous of my hubby and kids to love it so much! I was happy that hey have a fried ahi bento available for only $6. We/I really enjoyed bento, hubby mentioned the spicy ahi was great and that tofu poke salad, WOW. I loved the taste, comes with tofu, sea asparagus, and onion, so GOOD! I stopped by the next day to grab 2 containers of the tofu poke and the ginger fried poke $6. bento. This place is a GEM for sure, very busy, I cannot wait to be back!!

First, loved how local it feels and they sell a variety of poke, bento, cooked plates and even desserts! They also sell whole fish so you know the poke is fresh. I grabbed a pick 2 fish bowl with yuzu hamachi and chili garlic ahi. Loved the hamachi with was dressed with sea asparagus for a nice savoriness. You don't see hamachi poke often but it's one of my favorite types of sushi. Chili ahi was good as well and definitely had a kick. We also wanted to try tako (octopus) and got the kimchi tako which was nice and tender. Surprisingly the kimchi was pretty spicy too. Overall great spot for poke and I'll definitely need to come back if I'm in Kauai in the future. I'm still thinking about the hamachi poke a couple weeks ago.

(On a Wednesday afternoon, there were about 6 people in a place that holds 60.) I finished my beer and paid for it. I chatted with some people at the bar, one of whom was the owner Dave, he was super nice. Also some regulars, and the bartender Keala. I went outside to help my wife carry bags from the farmers market to the car, and went back to my table. The bartender came over and asked if i want another beer, i said no. Then she said, i have to order another beer or leave. And she starts insulting me, saying this isnt college, i have to "move on out". So i left. This is the only time I have ever been insulted in a bar. I have friends in the service industry, i know they sometimes have to deal with rowdy drunks, so i chat and smile and leave a nice tip. To be treated this way, in a nearly empty bar when i wasnt taking anyone's chair, the bartender had to leave the bar and cross the entire place just to insult me. I go to bars to have a drink and a nice time and relax, not to get harassed and insulted by the bartender. I will never go back to this place, sorry Dave.
