Good food and good service. The ambiance is ok until the band starts and then it's like every other place with a band. I maybe old but not deaf. It's like nobody in the restaurant can tell that the music is blowing the windows out or that everybody in the restaurant has a coat on cause it's so cold. Our group of ten stopped here for lunch on the way to a church retreat at Lake Yale. We were seated right away, having arrived about 1:00 PM for lunch. Menus brought and drink orders taken. I was pleased to see fresh oysters on the menu. The waiter said they were good size so I opted for a dozen. Immediately my wife yelled "No! Steamed!" and everyone laughed - but I ordered raw anyway! Lol. They were very good, fresh, briny and fair sized. Only issue was horseradish was mild and lacked a kick. My wife chose the Shrimp and Grits, which she stated were delicious. One of our friends ordered the Fish and Chips, which she said were also excellent. With the oysters I also asked for a bowl of Clam Chowder. It was tasty but thin, not what I expected, as most are. With my Yelp check in I received a free cup of soup, so opted to try the "Swamp Soup." This was a mixture of chicken soup, ham, kale and black eyed peas. To me, it missed the mark. Rather bland and flavorless. Service was excellent, food was enjoyed by all. Next time I will be less adventurous. read more

Joan C. anticipated every need including voluntarily providing water with lemon after ordering Margaritas. Our service was exceptional! Note to the staff on how impressed I was seeing many of these servers assisting each other, a sign of great teamwork and management. Today we ordered the Friday catfish special with fries and slaw. The catfish was perfectly prepared and delicious. Fries also tasty and hot. The coleslaw was fresh but could have been a little sweeter as they were short on flavor. Leonora was our waitress and attentive. My husband's salad came out well in advance of our entrees. Our drinks were refilled. The bathrooms were very clean. This looks like a bit of a hole in the wall and was not busy when we arrived right at 11, but more people were trickling in as we ate. The inside smelled a bit fishy, but the restaurant seemed clean if outdated. Overall, we will definitely be back again. The menu had a nice variety and everything was tasty. read more

This room fit the bill and it turned out to be a wonderful place for friends and family to gather to remember our brother. Chef Troy and I talked several times in the week or two leading up to the event and decided on all the details. He was very kind, creative, and accommodating and did things exactly to our wishes. The catered menu was great, promptly delivered, and delicious. Ginny was our server, super nice, and she did a great job managing the room. We got very disappointed with the food. Fish dip was ok, this cup of bowl was the smallest cup that I ever had, and the flavor also ok, nothing special. Fish and chips, too much flour and very greasy and the coconut shrimp same thing. Environment nice. Waitress just didn't care, took long to serve us, with no more than two tables inside. read more
