While not a lot of sitting area, this place is well worth the wait. They said 45 minutes on a Friday night for 5 of us, but it was more like 25 minutes. Myron was a great waiter. Drinks came out perfect, but the food took a little while to get to the table. I can say it was well worth the wait. Everything was delicious. I've been to Fish City Grill many times and every experience has been good. I was glad to see that they have recently added grilled oysters to the menu. I think I like them better than the fried variety! I tend to gravitate toward the specials listed on the chalk board, but I went with a regular menu crab cake sandwich on my last visit that was tasty. Horrible experience and we will never return!! We tried to eat dinner there tonight. We had 4 out of 5 of our party. There were empty tables and 8 empty booths. They said we had to wait for our entire party to arrive. The policy posted said that they followed that rule if there was a wait. There was NO wait!! We questioned it and they did not budge. My husband spoke to the manager and she did not care. We ended up spending our money elsewhere. Also, while we were waiting for the 5th member of our party, the two hosts were talking and laughing about patrons. Very rude!!! read more

I wondered to myself why I had never stopped by Fish City Grill before, given that it is fairly convenient for me. I pop my head in the door and assess the situation. Everything is quiet on a Friday afternoon, but I was there on the early side. One or two booths were filled. There was a large bar which was very clean but far too close to the booths. Two TVs sat over the bar, muted to make way for a pretty standard set of oldies music. I was greeted as I walked in the door as well, a nice little welcome. Given that this is a fish restaurant, I get the fish and chips. Any restaurant with the word "fish" in it needs to be capable of fried cod. The online menu suggests that it comes with apple cider cole slaw. The menu at the restaurant suggests fries. That is a little bit strange, as fish and chips implies both fish and fries. This is a given. The plate comes out, fish, fries, no cole slaw. I'm a little bit disappointed, but it does match the menu in the restaurant. Then again, if you can't trust the Internet, what madness has enveloped this world? To drink, I try their "spotted greyhound" which has gin, vodka, St. Germain, and grapefruit juice. Both the gin and St. Germain were hidden in the drink. The bartender seemed a bit new, but that usually leads to a drink by the book. It may be worth mentioning if I do return. On the other hand, $7 for what amounts to a glass of grapefruit juice with some vodka in it and waved in the direction of better spirits isn't a risk I care to take, even if they're one of the few places that uses St. Germain in anything. The cod itself was surprisingly good, although the fries were awkwardly large waffle fries which had one side packed with seasoning and the other quite plain. I wouldn't call the fries terrible, but they could have stepped up the game just a little bit to catch up with the cod. Perhaps it was my dissatisfaction with the drinks or my expectation of cole slaw which may or may not have been reasonable, but I felt this place was just a bit overpriced. If the drinks were a bit better, if the fries were a bit better, or if the cole slaw was really good, I think it would be pretty decent overall. I could probably give this place a second try, but I'm in no rush. Then again, a slightly overpriced restaurant with good but not outstanding food, not so great drinks, and an inoffensive atmosphere really does fit Edmond. read more

The atmosphere is good if you are OK with a booth, and the service was respectable. However, I mostly go to restaurants for the food. Unfortunately, that's where Fish City falls short. I ordered gumbo and it was inedible. The roux had been burned and in spite of the other ingredients, all I could taste was burned flour. The waiter recommended alligator as one of the specials, and since I'd never eaten alligator before, I tried it. I still don't know what alligator tastes like, because the meat was drowned in some kind of sauce that completely overpowered any other flavors that might have been there. Maybe it was better that way, (if alligator is really foul), but I wouldn't know from this experience. My guest had salmon and said it was OK. It was also overpriced. So, if you don't care about the food and the price, it's a good place to go. read more

I've never had a bad meal here. The menu is limited but they have daily specials that are on a chalk board. That is sometimes difficult to see and seems to have the same dishes. It's always fresh and well made. My faves are the beach party (bring a big appetite), seafood combo with blackened catfish, shrimp and oysters. First time here and I got the grilled salmon with vegetables. The flavor of the salmon was very good. The vegetables were cooked in very little butter, which I liked (healthier). I will try again. My wife got the Cajun pot roast. She didn't care for it, but I tasted it and it was pretty good. Next time I want to try one of the salads. The prices are what to expect at a normal sit down dinner. Everything from the very fresh seafood, to our excellent server Erin, was wonderful. The atmosphere was fun and clean, with a noise level that allowed for great conversation within our table. Erin was right on with her promptness, recommendations, and personality. And the floor manager was kind, polite, and knowledgeable. We've been eating at fish city grill for a few years and usually enjoy most of their menu. However the management leaves somthing to be desired and I'm starting to question their food prep practices. Last night we went and ordered our food along with my toddlers favorite- peel and eat shrimp. Usually they come steamed with the back split for peeling. These shrimp were unsplit cold, kind of mealy textured, soggy, and tasted strongly of chlorine. Not cocktail shrimp. Ostensibly just rinsed from a bucket in the fridge. I inquired with the manager because I thought this was just a one time mistake or something and she treated me as if I were stupid and told me they always come this way and always will regardless of my concerns. I've been ordering this for my kid for 2+ years. That was definitely a first, and they tasted nasty. I can't be confident they are fresh or safe when they arrive gross and soggy for my toddlers meal. I didn't want my 4.99 back I wanted an assurance this wouldn't be repeated. I won't be back and can no longer recommend. Grocery store cold shrimp tasted better. And safer.
