We found this place waiting for our car rental time to come up. The prices are great for the fish tacos but a bit high for the big meal but you get a LOT of fish! We could have shared one meal between two people. We opted for the cajun seasoning on Mahi Mahi and the fish was just right. My friend had two tacos (one shrimp and one cajun Mahi Mahi). We liked it enough that we had it again on the way back home. We just checked our luggage and walked over while waiting for our flight. After picking up visitors from the Bob Hope Airport, we saw this fish grilled restaurant in the plaza right next to the airport. I have tried many similar restaurants. I ordered my favorite dish, the grilled white fish plate. Everything was great, except they do not offer the dish without charging extra for the grilled zucchini. Placed a togo order, waited for 15 minutes, no sign of delivery yet, People come and go. I am waiting and waiting 20 minutes passed and I could see nothing is cooking at the grill. I had to approach and check my order. My order was delivered to a wrong person and it had to start again - frozen to table takes another 10 to 15 more minutes. Had an appointment so had to cancel the order. The customer service needs a big improvement. Scant regard to customer is the receipe for downfall. I had the fried fish dish. It was as good as the fish market! The other selections were also good. I want to try their grilled fish next time. The tacos look good too. If you are waiting for your flight and don't mind a little exercise, walk over from the terminal and get much better food selection than the airport. read more

I've been going to this restaurant since the day it opened , it's a nice little place over by the Burbank airport, I have tried numerous things on the menu which came to my surprise it is Great from day one I keep going back there and each time it seems to get better which I don't know how I can my favorite is the calamari also I have tried numerous other things that shrimp fried shrimp oh boy super good the best if you could get it I think very fresh very appealing even though it's a take out kind of food place it , sometimes I call in my order and then go pick it up and it's ready when they say it is also when I brought it home to my house which I live a few miles away from it's always hot which is a surprise most takeout food when you get it home is lukewarm I've always had really special hot food with even the fries hot, so I suggest you try this place it's kind of number one in my book I never put out something and less I really like it and trying to tell you where to eat it's clean the people are courteous and I've never had a problem there and I hope you like it to read more

Everything was way better then we expected. Large portions, and about half the price of a similar meal. I had the fish and chips which came with four large pieces. The kings head in santa Monica is slightly better at around $24 ; here at Fish Dish it was $8,00 and better than everywhere else. I've been looking for a semi-fast food chain that has fish and oh boy did I find one! I don't know how they do it but the cajun salmon fish is amazing! I'm not a big fan of the fishy seafood taste. Let me start by saying I love fish dish. I've been coming here for over 2 years. I've noticed a decline in the speed of service here but usually it's just because they tend to always be busy so I never complain about it. However, I called at 2 to order 2 burritos and was told 10-15 minutes. I get there 25 minutes later and they still aren't ready. I'm told it'll only be a few minutes. Another 15 minutes goes by and I'm still waiting so I ask again. They don't know where my burritos are. They gave them to someone else I guess. So now I have to sit for another 20 minutes waiting for new ones to be made. So I had to spend my entire lunch break waiting for food that I then didn't even have time to eat or enjoy. After basically waiting an hour for my food I wasn't offered a discount or refund or even a free side, you know anything to try to make up for the fact that they messed up. Extremely dissatisfied, and it'll probably be a while before I bother coming back here now which is a shame because I really like the food. Update: after all of this I finally go to eat my food and the chips are stale too. Way to go fish dish. read more

Been going to Fish Dish on Hollywood Way for over 4 years. It has steadily declined in both service and food quality. The staff ignore you while you stand there waiting for someone to take your order. They just chit chat to themselves. Finally taking my order and had to repeat it 4 times. Food still came out totally wrong. Ordered fish tacos and received shrimp tacos. Where they really there to serve me food? Or was it a social club amongst themselves?? Completely clueless. I decided to try this place due to all the good reviews. I had the salmon burrito, and half of it was raw cabbage. I wouldn't ever order a burrito again here, it was bitter and I even found bits of the core in it. Couldn't taste the fish. On subsequent visits I tried the cod plate, and it's a solid fish and chips option as long as you get some sauces to go with it. There isn't even a hint of seasoning on the fish itself. This was easily the worst restaurant I have ever had the displeasure to experience. Upon entering, a gluten free menu was requested from the manager. He appeared stumped, but declared that they, "didn't have one." It required many repetitions, but the manager answered several questions and even had the griddle cleaned. Following an approximately ten-minute wait, our food was served. Before it was set upon the table, the large piece of bread was noted. I explained that I had ordered it without bread due to the allergy, and was not able to simply remove the bread. The manager immediately had the dish re-made. The second attempt arrived, without bread. This time, however, it was served with white rice. Brown rice had been ordered. To my dismay, the cole slaw was absent. At this point, I approached the food prep area to take a look at the food ticket. The cashier had properly input the order, but the kitchen repeatedly made it incorrectly. The manager refunded my money, while once muttering a less than enthusiastic apology. During the time he refunded my credit card, I finally tasted the Ahi Tuna. The menu lists it as to be served rare. Most unfortunately, it was served medium, with most of the flesh white. Singlehandedly, the most apathetic attempt I have witnessed. I come here at least every couple weeks, tonight the food was good ( 4 stars) but i have to say I'm disappointed in the last 2 times I've been here. The tables remain not cleaned after someone leaves. The cashier was not friendly, different from when they first opened- maybe the newness has worn off. This is a great place for fish. You get to choose how it is prepared and your sides. The portions are good too. We ordered salmon with the garlic butter sauce, brown rice and grilled asparagus w/tomatoes. The salmon was cooked to perfection! They also have tacos/burritos so great options! I love Fish Dish, I recently just wrote a review for another fish dish location in North Hollywood, but this location is awful. The food tasted the same as anywhere else, but the Customer Service and timeliness was AWFUL! I ordered around 12:40pm over the phone and was told that my food would be ready in 10-15 mins. So I arrived around 12:55pm to pick up my food. Not even close to being ready. I waited 25 mins after arriving to get my food. So it approximately took 40 mins to get my food. I wasted over half of my one hour lunch break waiting for my food that I called ahead for. And when I mentioned to an employee there that this was ridiculous her comment was "well, its busy." Okay, I get busy, but do not tell me 10-15 mins if it is 30-40 mins. I would have budgeted my time better than that. No apologies, no sincere words of regret, nothing. I will not be coming back to this location, ever again. read more

good customer service. ambiance was good too. kinda hard to find. its near the airport but dont pull into the airport, its the parking lot b4. i got the hawaiin bbq with rice, boyfriend got the salmon taco's. eh they were ok. he didnt enjoy them as much. fish didnt taste fresh to him but my dish was great.. so maybe next time will have to try something different on the menu for him to see if it tastes better. def will try it again to see if it'll bump up to a 5 star for us! read more

Everything is fresh and prepared in a minimalist, straight forward fashion. They don't over season or over sauce to mask the taste of lousy fish, it's really simple honest food. Fish tacos are great, but so is anything with the rice. Choices between cajun or garlic butter preparation, both are good. It's a little strange that it's right next to the airport and doesn't suck.
