Great spot in downtown bar harbor. Beautiful inside with chery paneling and cool vibe. Service was quick and fiendly. They have an excellent selection of wines encompassing spain, France Austria , USA etc. the wife had the lobster diner. I had the fish tacos which were also excellent. This place has a really good breakfast and quick service. My husband and I have enjoyed this spot every time we try it; it's in a great location right downtown and a few steps from the park. This is a great little spot for a quick bite before you get on the trolley or do whale watching. I've had lobster benedict and lobster oscar here, and both are delicious. Sam and his team gave us plenty of water and drinks to stay hydrated . His recommendation on the chowder fries was amazing. I wanted clam chowder soup and didn't know that I would get satisfied by eating thick cut steak fries with a blend of chowder soup, chives and bacon on them. They were a hit. As for my main, I had an excellent grilled haddock ala eskovitch. This was one of the best tasting fish dishes and accompanied veggie vinegar sauce I've ever had. Spicy and refreshingly tasty. We were camping in the area and saw a review for Testa's on RV Life. We made a reservation for after a big hike in Acadia National Park (you don't need reservations but they will take them!). We were seated outside right next to heaters... score! We were promptly greeted by our Server and she was attentive throughout the night. Great service sitting at the bar, food was good too, first time having oysters on the half shell north of the Masion Dixion Line. We were in Bar Harbor for a short while and the restaurant caught my eye due to how long it's been around. Really wish I had gone elsewhere though because the food was quite mediocre. We had the mussels, oyster Rockefeller, lobster cargot, coconut shrimp, and the fish n chips. The carrot was easily the best of the bunch with the mussels coming in second, although the mussels were quite small and missing a bit of extra love. I'd suggest skipping the coconut shrimp as there isn't any coconut flavor and the blueberry sauce is overpowering. The Rockefeller is passable but not something I'd order again as they make it with too much cheese and no spinach. Lastly, the fish and chips are just okay. Most of the chips aren't crispy and haddock nuggets don't match up to a nice hunk of cod fish. read more
