Definitely a place to checkout for a good local vibe when visiting Greensboro with a good Seafood daily specials board, and while my food selection for the evening was good I lamented not seeing the back wall special's board dedicated to "taco's of the day: shrimp" which looked amazing. I guess that means I have to go back! Good beer selection, cool atmosphere and nice waitstaff even during peak dinner time service. Only complaint I'll give it is parking can be difficult. Fishbone's is a cute little Mexican / seafood restaurant. Everyone was super friendly and helpful when we had a table of six in a restaurant that definitely was not meant to accommodate a table of six. Overall everyone was pretty happy with their meals and the food was really good. I had the ahi tuna burrito and added their special hot sauce. I think with the hot sauce it was perfect but without it would have been a little bit bland. Overall I would definitely go back if I was in the area. read more

This is a great spot. It is quaint bar with surprising good food. The menu is creative and not what you would expect from the corner bar. They have a variety of burritos, and a great seafood dishes. My wife went to UNCG, and ever time we are remotely near Greensboro we make a stop at Fishbones. We tried the oysters today for the first time I really enjoyed them. I have eaten here a half dozen times and have not gotten past the southwest chicken burrito. A great and unusual side everyone has got to try is the blackened green beans with remoulade dipping sauce. If nothing else those will keep you coming back. The service is good, however when we were there on a mid Sunday afternoon there was only 1 waitress catering to the entire bar and patio. Since it was around 3, it wasn't all that busy, but an extra waitress wouldn't hurt. read more

Such a neat little place. My favorite menu item is the salmon paired with mashed potatoes and asparagus! The craft beers are also delicious and the service has always been great. It's on the smaller side so if you catch it during a busy time, you will have to wait for a little while but the wait is well worth it! read more

I was tempted to give this place 4 stars merely on the fact that it's so small and always tough to get a table, but then I remembered that is what makes it great. Fishbones is awesome. Crab and pimento cheese dip with chips was the daily app special and it was great. I also had the daily main special which was a shrimp dish and it was excellent. The others in my party had the tuna and raved about it as well. If you're looking for good sides, cheese grits, smashed potatoes, wasabi slaw, and blackened green beans are all great. The best thing about this restaurant besides the atmosphere is the prices. Two out the door with app and drinks was under $40. read more

Found this little gem while looking for another place, and am I glad I did!! Shabby-chic and charming, there is seating inside & out on the patio. Service was efficient and friendly, but not over the top. Experienced servers charmed me through the menu & helped me choose what was maybe one of the top 5 dishes I have EVER had: Thai Beef Salad. Love this place and have now visited it the three times that I have come to Greensboro. And each time it has been multiple visits during a trip. The food is really good and not very expensive at all. Love the blackened green beans as a side! A very good beer selection and an interesting wine selection and both are not very expensive. I had been wanting to try for quite some time and am glad I finally did. Unlike most restaurants in this neighborhood, they have decent parking. We were greeted promptly and directed to sit where we liked. Nice beer and wine selection. We shared a fried oyster appetizer. The taste was good but they needed some crunch. Food came quickly. I had shrimp and grits. Again, very nice taste. Consistency was unusual. It was sort of a gumbo/etouffe/ style sauce but tasty. Grits were creamy and good. Husband got fried catfish. He was disappointed with the quantity. Only one filet for 12.99, but it was a nice quality of fish. It, like the oysters, lacked the crunch you expect in fried seafood. We enjoyed our meal and attentive service. I do wish there were normal height seating options. Recent knee surgery made the tall chairs a bit challenging to access though they were comfortable once settled. read more

Loved the atmosphere and the menu. Not sure about the food. Soup not served hot and salad was missing a few items at first. But the server/bartender rectified easily. Food definitely looks good but taste doesn't quite measure up. There's a weird aftertaste on every dish. Couldn't place it but it was there in the Asian sauce and the crab soup. First time here. Had middle neck clams for appetizer very good great dipping broth. Cioppino for main course quite good but a little heavy on the oregano. My wife ordered a Caesar salad with shrimp with Asian peanut dressing. Was served a regular salad with peanut dressing when we told the server she took the salad back and got a Caesar made with spring greens. Interesting place will probably come back and try it again. Laid back interior. Staff was friendly but overwhelmed between the interior and exterior seating. Ordered the angus steak medium with baked beans and grilled asparagus. The two filets were both cooked well done, which was disappointing but I can eat it. Steak was tender but had a most unpleasant smokiness/burnt flavor as did the two sides. Not sure what happened here. The asparagus was burnt badly and tasted equally poor - I usually love asparagus. Waitress never gave me her name nor checked to see if I enjoyed my food. Ate most of it because I was hungry but with two better choices across the street I unfortunately won't be going back. read more

But, the fried shrimp on the poboy was very greasy - and came out immediately and it was not hot - so was it back there under a warmer? Kind of weird. The flavor wasn't great, either. Discovered this jewel last weekend and can't believe we didn't find it sooner. Loved the food and will definitely return!! We ate the fried catfish on rice over black beans. Delightful taste. Went on a Saturday night and was able to be seated quickly. Husband got fish and chips and a house salad. He loved the lemongrass dressing and the salad. His fish and chips came with fries and corn on the cob. He loved it all. I got the chicken quesadilla with the southwestern chicken and it was very good and large. I took half of it home. Friends had the crab meat tacos and the Tex mex turkey sandwich. Both enjoyed their meals. We did get the appetizer of chips and salsa which was small. Nice beer and wine selection too. Cons were place is small and got very loud as the restaurant filled up. There is outdoor seating but it had been raining so couldn't sit outside. Also had to ask for one of the salads twice.
