This is what crab sandwich dreams are made of! I know there are a variety of places to get a good crab sandwich in the area but I have to say, the one at Fisherman's Cove is by far my favorite! The dill mayo with it, takes it over the edge. The only thing I would change is a slightly toasted bread instead of warmed but it was still amazing! We also got the fried oysters, which are plentiful! You get so many! And the chips were also incredible. The service was quick and everyone was so nice. I loved that there was indoor seating. I don't know if my expectations were too high but the flavor and taste I didn't think were worth the $28 price tag. The following day I got a crab sandwich at Spud Point Crab Co next door. I'd give spud point a slightly higher rating as I felt their crab sandwich tasted better and was cheaper at only $20. The restaurant is situated next to a dock, giving great fishing town vibes. Nearly all tables full for the Saturday lunch period. Take caution that there is only one restroom. Ordered the halibut and chips (great flavor and three massive pieces of fish), the fisherman's Stew (loaded with seafood, delicious tomato base), and our table tried all four of the BBQ oysters options. We appreciated that all the flavors had unique flavor profiles (favorites was the chorizo and the rice vinegar/jalapeno) and were served right off the grill at the front door. Amazing friendly staff. I went to Bodega Bay for the first time. I was definitely looking forward to eating delicious seafood. Came across Fisherman's Cove on the way back from a hiking trail. For around $80, this meal we had wasn't what I expected or wanted. There was a really long line on a Saturday afternoon. I've been coming to fisherman's cove with my family since I was a kid. Their oysters and Portuguese fish stew always had me coming back for more. Until today, not due to their food but due to their poo service. After I ordered our lunches I found a table outside while waiting on my family who were getting their dinner from Nextdoor at spuds. When my family came back we were rudely approached by their oyster griller and told we couldn't have outside food at their establishment. We weren't eating it but we were told we couldn't. It was our dinner for later. Meanwhile there was a family two tables over from us eating spuds food with all of their food scattered upon their table. When I told the man at the grill if you're going to have rules they should be for everyone as I was leaving he said he didn't know. As we were walking to our car he acted as if he was going to speak to them, shrugged and walked away. If you have rules, they need to be enforced for everyone. Again, we literally just brought it over as that was our dinner and what I'd ordered from fisherman's cove was our actual lunch to eat there but their staff didn't care. The other table was full of outside food and were told nothing about it. It was extremely disappointing especially since we come multiple times per year to enjoy their food. Service needs a course in how to deal with patrons. I would also like to add that I then tried to make my meals to go but was told they wouldn't do that with oysters so I'd have to eat them there. After being "scolded" for something we weren't actually doing- I had to sit there and wait for the rest of my food and then down it because my family was so uncomfortable that they left the restaurant and decided to leave at what would have been their dinner for lunch elsewhere because they didn't feel comfortable in this environment. Due to today's issue Fisherman's Cove has lost our business and we will be going to Spuds and Fishetarian across the bay. It's a shame that this is how Fisherman's Cove employees treat their patrons- especially ones who frequently patronize their establishment. Like I said, I've been coming here since I was a little kid, multiple times in the summers and off season/during the week when business was slower. Hopefully their owners realize that this is something that needs to be handled and fix how their staff treat customers. The guy working the register was great. He asked me if I needed my order for here or to go and I asked for half to go and oysters for here as the rest of my family was coming in shortly to order. So when I asked one of the female servers if I could get my oysters to go I was rather surprised to be told that they could t make oysters to go. read more

My friend and I were in Occidental CA. Wanting to go to Bodega Bay 1/2 drive for lunch at the Fisherman's Cove, the place that people rave about. Now I know why LOL. A really cute place with both indoor, patio seating and stools by a counter to look out at the bay. We arrived around 3:30 PM and got super lucking with parking. A car was pulling out as we entered. When you walk in, it's like a country store, that serves food. Menu is on the wall along with a board with specials. You order and pay at the counter. You are given a number that your food get delivered to wherever you are seating. We decided on the Calamari and Chips, Dozen Raw Oysters and a couple of ice cold Lagunitas IPA. I tell you these oysters I had were so fresh, fairly big, creamy and delicious. The calamari, light, crispy and perfectly fried! Our first visit and we loved it so much we returned three more times in a week! The location is very scenic being across the street from the docks and on near Bodega Head. There is plentiful seating inside and out and the place is bright, exceeding clean (including the spacious restroom) and very welcoming. The staff were all very friendly and helpful each time we visited. There is a small parking lot and plenty of street parking. The food is prepared to order, super fresh, hearty portions and very tasty. While we loved everything we ordered, our favorite was the Halibut and Chips. Nice light batter, great fries (crispy outside and soft in the middle) and the homemade tartar sauce was imaginative and delicious! We also enjoyed the Halibut Tacos, Lobster Roll and both raw and grilled oysters. The Tri-tip looked great too. We initially drove over here to eat at another place but walked in here first. I was pleasantly surprised by how well kept the interior of the restaurant was and the open kitchen. Everything smelled amazing and each dish I saw, being delivered to tables as I waited to order looked so tasty. The crab sandwich was perfect. The bread was warm and toasted perfectly, it was crispy on the sliced interior of the sandwich, like it was pressed on a flat top. The crab itself was delicious. The crab meat was cold and well dressed, in a dill cream sauce that allowed for the clean fresh crab taste to come through and texture against the warm bread was absolutely perfect. The prawns are not to be missed. The breading is light and fluffy, I kept thinking about how fresh the prawns tasted for hours after we ate them. I was also very surprised at how tasty the tar tar sauce is. The only thing here that was odd, was the raw sliced carrot that was randomly served with the crab sandwich. I felt it was an odd accompaniment and could have been pickled , roasted, shredded, anything but just long ways sliced and dropped on the basket next to the perfect crab sandwich. read more

Our favorite fish and chips spot in California! The local halibut fish and chips are incredible. Lightly battered and full of flavor. The chips are also well seasoned and crispy on the outside with soft potato on the inside. The BBQ oysters are huge and delicious. We like the butter and garlic flavoring. The fried oysters are also done really well. They get pretty busy on the weekends and their parking lot is tiny, but can park along the road and walk there. They have 1 bathroom but across the street there are 2 public restrooms to use if it's too busy. Also you can order online or call ahead if you don't want to stand in line. read more
