What a pleasant surprise. I tried the Fitchi and it was even more heavenly than it looked. I'm not sure how they made this simple meat pie taste so good but it was fire. The pastry was light, flaky and browned on the outside, buttery and moist on the inside. It was almost like a soup dumpling in the sense that once you bit into it, there was just enough broth on the inside, along with the meat, to be quite delightful. I ordered this delivery so I can't speak to the service or environment but their delivery packaging was great. It's always a plus when your delivery doesn't arrive in a soggy bag dripping with what ever your ordered which sadly happens quite often from a lot of places. They called back and said they could not refund our money but would bring us cash? Shady! The number on the order goes to an unmanned line in Canada. We disputed the charge in our card. We had a great experience at Fitchi House! The owner is from Turkmenistan and a Fitchi is a traditional dish. It is like a pot pie crust and inside is a ground beef and onion filling. She gave us a banana pepper infused vinegar to add to it. I enjoyed it, but the hubby didn't. The pizza was super good. The crust was tasty and not too thick. The toppings were fresh. We had chicken with Alfredo sauce and the chicken club. I would recommend both, but definitely try the chicken club. I haven't seen it at other places, but it is tasty! We crawled into Fitchi House desperate for some sustenance and it definitely surpassed expectations. We split some fried chicken (not my usual go-to, but it sounded right for the late-night mood) and a fitchi that came with a Yelp check-in, popped a squat and our food came out less than ten minutes later - chicken first, then the fitchi. And it. Was. Glorious. Definitely some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. We got their hot kind (I think the other option was barbeque) and the sauce was amazing and messy and tangy and perfect. And, we didn't walk away with that kinda nasty, greasy bloated feeling one can sometimes get from indulging in fried chicken - it was like something your mom would make from scratch. And the kitchi was great, too. Homey and hardy with a great blend of spices in the meat, plus a flakey crust and wonderfully soupy interior. The inside is cute and small, perfect for a casual bite with a friend or two. The service is also very friendly and attentive. I think if we hadn't come so late at night, parking might have been difficult to find, but it's Wallingford so that's to be expected. So this place is pretty unique. They serve central Asian meat pies called fitchi and a turnover called samsa. They've got different fillings like beef, chicken, cheese, or veggie. They also sell Italian style pastas and pizza. I had a fitchi combo and my friend had a samsa combo. When we walked it it was around 10pm and there was maybe one or two other people waiting. We waited for nearly an hour for food. The fitchi has a stiff and dense crust as it's similar to a thin hot water crust. The samsa has flaky layers and I'd probably get in the future. The filling was tasty. The weird thing is the combo meal comes with these baked spring rolls served with sweet and sour sauce and a salad comes with it too with pizza cheese, black olives, lettuce, and ranch dressing. I was thinking the sides would be central Asian as well but the combo was a bit weird all together. The spring rolls are not great. They're dry because they are baked and not fried. The wait of an hour though when it wasn't busy was outrageous though. Overall it was a bit of a disappointment though this is a new business and a family business so hopefully they'll improve the speed of service with time and add better side items read more

The fillings are the same for each, and the dough seems to be the same as well. Our favorite was the beef, which was very flavorful. The chicken is pretty good, but has cheese inside, too (I think), which I didn't like as much. The vegan was a mix of spinach, tomato, and mushrooms, and would have been delicious if it wasn't so disgustingly salty. I'm hoping this was just an anomaly and that they don't completely oversalt the veggie filling on the regular. We did have some leftover and were pleasantly surprised that they reheat really well and don't get soggy at all. Man, I hate to do this: this was the worst pizza I've ever had in my entire life. I ordered the Greek Gyro Pizza, and I tipped the driver $4 without tasting the food. The pizza dough was the texture of a Korean steamed bun. The cook clearly just took olives out of a jar and threw them on the pizza dough and stuck the pizza in the oven.
