Fantastic food, friendly service, phenomenal atmosphere. With a varied menu and a long libations list, all of which delivered, I really can't say a negative thing about FitzWilly's Pub experience. Don't let the tiny entranceway fool you. We have passed over FitzWilly's many times before. But the fact is, inside is a terrific, exposed brick atmosphere with elements of its former self in brick archways and cozy alcoves. From the clam chowder and onion strings to the lobster sliders and the Jack Daniels tips, the food and drinks were all excellent. With an attentive, friendly waitstaff and a quirky, two-floor setting, this place is All-American comfort food in a comfortable environment. Grabbed dinner with the family based on the very popular patio. Standard pub offerings with made with fresh ingredients but nothing that really stood out. We had the shepherds pie , boneless wings , salad and a turkey sammy and there were no complaints but a good amount of leftovers. Spent a week at Northampton. We had casual dinner here on four of the six nights at Fttzys. Bar food yes - however one step above Chillis type bar food. Excellent service beers are cold, local and poured quickly. Pro tip-- parking is available behind the bar for about 75 cents per hour. :) read more

We drove into Northampton looking for dinner on a Friday night before settling in to our room at Hotel Northampton for a night of March Madness and stopped in at Fitzwilly's. We were seated after spending 5 min in the conversation area. We had friendly service and our food came quickly. Baked haddock, fish tacos, and grilled cheese were all delicious. This pub stopped seating folks around 20 minutes before closing but there were stools open at the bar so we sat down and were greeted by Rob, the bartender, who told us we were welcome and gave us menus to make our food pick. We ordered the fish and chips and were glad that we only ordered a solo plate. We ordered food and drinks and Rob saw we were going to split the order and immediately got us another plate. This is customer service. Rob came over and we made small talk and were made to be very comfortable. I definitely recommend visiting this fine establishment. read more

This place is fine. The frozen peah daquiri is delicious. We ordered the herb crusted salmon salad. It was okay with small portions and weird unexpected flecks of wasabi. I ordered the seared ahi tuna salad which was actually very delicious and the wasabi vinagerette was good with bursts of wasabi coming through. Good but not sure we would stop by again. read more

3.5 Stars Food: The food was pretty good. I had a Reuben, which was nice and tasty and had plenty of meat. It was a little too moist on the bottom from all the extra meat (and the sauerkraut prob. didn't help), but was delicious anyway. Oh, and it came out screaming hot...def. burned my lip on the first bite. The fries (or at least the ones I stole off a friend's plate) were nice and crisp on the outside but soft in the middle, like I like them. I would pass on the potato salad, it was just too bland. Drinks: The drink menus had plenty of options. I had a tall #9. The strawberry daiquiri a female friend had tasted virgin though, and thus just super sweet, so we had to have them "spruce it up a little." What a shitshow! I placed an order to go and gave my name and number, was told to show up in twenty minutes. I go in and my order was never placed in the system. NO apology, NO discount, NO rush service, NO offer of a cold beverage while I wait. Forty five minutes after placing my first order, I finally ask the hostess, what time it is and get ready to ask to bartender the status of my order. I look at the end of the bar to see a bag sitting there. Sure enough, it is my order. The bartender saw me sitting patiently waiting, could she not have told me? I have been coming here for at least 5 years and on Feb 20th we went to celebrate my son's 22ed birthday. Like always asked for their gluten free menu.. knowing that things there aren't technically gf because of cross contamination in the kitchen. I Can say I've never had a problem before...Before all that happened on friday, I never ever ever got sick from the food because from my understanding when you inform your server of food allergies you'd take it seriously. First off I let my server know. I placed my order which was the short rib tacos. Made with corn tortillas to make it gf. As the food came out they had 4 taco shells and all the meat shoved on top. The 2 bottom tortillas are now fully soaked through and was instructed to take the meat off and construct the others myself. The extra meat on the other corn tacos which was hard to do, do my partshel blindness. So it got everywhere. As I began to eat it. I started to not feel well and asked about the corn shells for the meal. They fried it. Fried it. Yes fried the corn tortilla to flah cook it. As I began to cry because As a person with celiac disease this means for me a very hard and long recovery process. The waitress herself was mortified with the kitchen's mistake. And when the manager came over she was yelling and being condescending ... who and what manager does this???She was arguing with everyone at the table. Telling me I should read the menue before eating here... I sure did. I didmy part and told you I had celiac disease. Anytime I've been there it was never ever an issue but this time... I was humiliated. Being yelled at and being told it's not their falt.. it's just gluten sensitive... Well if that's the case then why would you use the fryer... why wouldn't your server say well even though that's on the gluten sensitive menu we still fry it making it not good for those who are sensitive. Any other time this place was accommodating. The manager was so rude and condescending even the waitress admitted that she was extremely unprofessional, rude, and none of this should have happened. I feel so upset to be embarrassed, talked down to and left feeling ill and not only that the woman manager has no clue that not only did her behavior which was deplorable and for those people who may suffer from anxiety and PTSD it would and did have traumatic experience because of her behavior. She made what was a very good day into almost a week of extreme pain and severe celiac attack from being there. I was so embarrassed by her behavior I dont think I can come back because she was so aggressive to the point I cant trust you all to help keep from 1. being emotionally attacked 2. Do you care how embarrassing this experience was. 3. How can you fry from a gluten sensitive menu.. when in the past yall said that the fryer is used with wheat products. So technically it's now not even okay with people who may have a sensitivity. 4. How can I feel safe eating there now when you have a manager who was so aggressive with the situation I ended up having seizures after we left due to my high anxiety. They are brought on from extreme stress. We had to ask her to leave our table because she was making the situation unsafe for me. What was supposed to be a birthday celebration for my son because this place used to make you feel like family now just made all of us feel like we cant go back. Side note* I used to go there 4 to 6 times a month with spending at least 50 bucks each time. I no longer can come here and feel really sad about it. I wish it was solved and handled better. Thank you for the gift card but I wont be using it since I wont be back becauseI dont want to be treated like I am a peice of crap and pay for it. It's just sad this place used to be great to your customers. But after this you just lost me and my family as customers. Just wish all of this didnt happen like the way it did because I used to love love love this place. We stopped into Fitzwilly's while we were desperately searching for a cocktail. The outside decor assured us that we had found a place with a full bar. The staff was friendly enough, we only had a couple cocktails, but they generously let us play with the Trivia Pursuit cards they leave on the bar. Sad to say but one of my favorites & a Northampton staples has lost there charm. I always make a reservation a day ahead of time & usually get seated anyways by the noisy kitchen door, but I deal because the food is great. Tonight same bad seat but the appetizer comes out with the food! The staff is also rushing us the whole meal giving looks to hurry (while there are open tables, not that it matters) but it is very uncomfortable when we were rushed to order in a matter of minutes no ambience or chance to talk, shovel your food down and get out. The food is still good but you don't have time to enjoy it.. This used to be my go to place, now I'm am so disheartened with the service & fast food atmosphere. I've had longer, nicer sit down meals at Dunkin...skip this one until they go back to there old customer service priorities. read more

Stopped in for lunch, great food and atmosphere! We had pot stickers, fried chicken with mashed potatoes and a BLT. Everything tasted fresh and it was nice and hot. Food took a little long to come out and it wasn't very busy. All in all, a good experience! We didn't have any adult beverages but it looks like they have a great selection of beers on tap. I've been here on a couple different occasions even before Covid & it's always been a Meh experience. Waitress are so nice and attentive, but the food is never up too par. It's sad cause I wanna like it so bad.. Every time i visit i try to put the past behind and order something new. I'm just never satisfied and i love food so it's never a problem ...Tonight i order the BBQ HALF CHICKEN w Baked Beans & Mac & Cheese.. as well as the bake potato soup which was cold the first time around.. our server however was so polite and was on it.. the chicken was not good at all. Had a weird flavor kinda like freezer, no where near Smokey... not tasteful at all. So, after a drive down memory lane through Amherst and Northampton we decided to stop at Fzitzwilly's. Now, this restaurant has been around a long time and it was a place that my parents would take me after picking me up at UMASS so many years prior. Memories of sitting with my dad having a burger and really looking forward to a good meal because I was a broke college student and UMASS wasn't the Mecca of college culinary standards it is today, So, it had been many years long past that I had last been to Fitzwillys. these are pre Yelp years. Well, I wasn't disappointed and had a really nice meal and the service was good. The Salads were well prepared and just what I wanted, my days of burgers are few and far between these days. The restaurant looked much like it did so many years ago and it was one of the few places that I could go to and feel transported to a different time. The service was slow at best, with the waitress often distracted. It was like flagging down a cab to get her attention. When the food came it was good, however when the bill came there was a $5 we did not have on our bill. Again had to flag the waitress down to get her attention and point out the error to her, to which she replied she meant to put it onto the bill of the table behind us. It's been years since I've been here and I was very disappointed. The food was nothing like it used to be. We ordered appetizers and within 10 minutes they brought out our entrees - before the apps. When they took the food back we knew exactly where it was going...under the hot lamp. The apps were mediocre at best. Over salted soup and mediocre wings served with old celery. The main entrées were both over salted and my husbands pork belly dish tasted burnt. We didn't finish more than a couple bites of our dinner and went to get ice cream instead.
