This place was amazing; food, service, atmosphere. I wish I lived near by so I could eat here on the regular.

We made a quick breakfast pit stop here on our drive to OBX. Overall it was solid, only complaints were that our corn cakes were a little dry (disappointment) and our biscuits were a tad under done (yet still buttery and delicious). It was worth the 10 minute detour off the highway. read more

Ordered the two corn cakes and honey butter with two eggs and bacon along with their brunch special of biscuits and gravy with two eggs and garlic potatoes. Service was okay at best, she wasn't really friendly or talkative. Asked us what we wanted and was back in less then five minutes with our food. After ten o'clock, the place is less crowded. The food was alright, the egg and corn cakes were cooked to order, but their bacon was cooked before hand and thrown on the plate. So were their biscuits and gravy. The hubbs and I both agreed that the saving grace of this place is their DELICIOUS warm and flacky biscuits, everything else was alright. The cashier lady was really nice, and we wished that she was our waitress. Anyways, they do provide a military discount, although I can't remember how much that discount was, it was a really good one. =) read more

Great little diner in James City County (i.e. the Williamsburg "suburbs"). Had a delicious blueberry pancake and the loaded hash browns (w/ cheese, peppers, and onions) - both were great. Extra points for having a large a la carte section that allows you to craft your own perfect breakfast! Nice to be able to get _less_ food than at the chain restaurants. The food is what you might expect from a "greasy spoon" restaurant. Some is okay, some is just bad. The service is horrible! We've been there three times and it's always the same thing. Starting with the rude hostess who tells us to wait for 15-20 minutes, which turned into 45 minutes one time and 30 the other. Then the waitress comes and asks, "what do you want to drink?" No hello, no smile, nothing. She was rude throughout the meal, and very abrupt, and difficult to understand. Somehow, we kept getting the same waitress all three times. One time, we heard her telling the table behind us that she had been there for years, which made me think her attitude didn't bother the owners. It bothered us, so we won't ever go back. And we're not going to try out the other restaurant owned by the same people in this town (Honey Butters) because they clearly don't care how rude this waitress is to customers. The restaurant is the size of a matchbox. Okay, not really, but it is incredibly small and when they fill every table it gets very loud. They are very busy on the weekends. The food just isn't that good. read more

Love it. Cheap and amazing breakfast. The portions are enormous. Definately a cardiac on a plate. The cheese omelets are oozing with dairy goodness. The biscuits and gravy are peppery and tasty. This dive looks like a hole in the wall, but it is definitely worth stopping! Biggest issue is deciding on what to get! I had the special of the day... a bagel with salmon, capers, cream cheese, lettuce, and tomato. It was all made from scratch and was heavenly! I couldn't stop there, so I got some blueberry pancakes! I was really not at all impressed with this place that had such good reviews. The service was SPECTACULAR, which if it had been bad I would've been worried since I was the only one in there. The food was so plain and ew that I'm not sure how exactly I scarfed it down. The macaroni and cheese, I would never have known it had cheese in it if it wasn't yellow... I ate maybe two or three spoonfulls before giving up on that. Ate the Buttermilk Catfish but ended up scraping off the buttermilk breading, and the green beans were the only decent thing I had. read more

This is a great local restaurant. Every time we visit Williamsburg we make a point to eat here. Do not miss this place, just save me a seat.

My husband and I went here for breakfast on a Saturday at 10a and were able to be seated right away. He had the omlette with the chili and I had a special dish with cornbread pudding topped with cheese. The portions were generous and the service was friendly. Would definitely go back. I wouldn't think this would be a great place for large groups as their seating was mainly booths. read more

This cafe is actually the type of "diner" that old schoolers dream about, reminiscent of 1940s, 50s, 60s diners. It was exactly what we were hoping to find as visitors to a new area. Great food, great prices, great service. All food arrived at the same time and as ordered. Bomb! Pancakes, one is enough. Add limitless coffee and it's A number 1 for this old schooler. The french fries are forgettable...think Ore-Ida with season salt. However, the rest of the food was great. We had a burger, cheese steak, salad, etc and all was good and priced reasonable. Definitely worth trying. read more

This place is fantastic, the meaning of "don't judge a book by it's cover". I went in having low expectations and was completely blown away. The service was excellent and seated us immediately, our order took about 15 minutes to make, and was for sure much greater than expected. The food is not too expensive, and tastes great. read more

Great down home cooking and friendly help, even though my partner pissed off our waitress (he called her on someone else's review here referencing the fact that they've gone to frozen hash browns and lost their home fried potatoes...it was quite funny actually; she says "Are you ready to order now or are you still playing on the Internet - his head was buried in his Android)...Our beverages were always filled and the food/soup/salad was fresh and enjoyable. A much better experience than any chain or fast food restaurant in the area. I'll come back, but with different friends next time (lol) read more

Super cool atmosphere--50's diner-esque with great service and friendly waitresses. Tiny place with lots of locals, so twenty minute wait coming in. We had the big breakfast and biscuits and gravy. *Huge* portions of food. Pancakes and sausage links were notable, the rest of the breakfast meats were kinda bland. Well the food didn't make me sick so that's a plus. There was an odd smell to the place and the service was a little lacking. It seemed like a typical greasy spoon. Food is great. The young girl that works the tables is extremely sweet and helpful. Our server on the other hand didn't even say hello to us. She greeted us with are you ready to order. This was the best breakfast I've had in a long time. I had the banana pecan pancake which had WHOLE SLICES of banana in them and nice size pieces of pecans. That was just awesome. And I say pancake because I could never eat more than one. They were bigger than my face. I had hash browns and cheddar grits and could not finish it all. You get good size portions of everything for a great price. We will definitely be back every time we come to Williamsburg. There is honestly nothing bad I can say about it. And they are now apparently open for dinner too. : ) read more

This is the best diner meal that I have had in a long time. I had the shrimp and cheddar grits with the stewed tomatoes and the collard greens, shrimp done to perfection and the cheddar grits were just the right consistency.
