I've been to Five Guys in Pleasant Hill and had an okay experience. We decided to try this location once it opened. It isn't that they are nasty but I just do not get the hype. I would much rather go to in n out any day! Anyways, we ordered our burgers with our desired toppings which is pretty cool that they have so many to chose from. The burgers themselves were okay nothing you can't make at home . My biggest complaint is that there buns cannot handle their burgers. They almost always fall apart instantly. Not only do yet get soggy but they're cold. Maybe toasting them would help keep the burgers together. Food was mediocre, service was alright but in n out still beats them. read more

Employees are getting lazier and lazier at paying attention to the orders. Consistently putting out orders with missing ingredients, ingredients not even asked for, and simply undercooking things. They opened a new Five Guys burger where Hollywood Video used to be. So I decided to try it out since I have seen them in the LA area but never had the chance to try it to compare to In-N-Out. I ordered the regular cheese burger as comparison. The regular is a double and I put everything on it. While waiting for the burger, you can get their peanuts free. The peanuts were good, just the right amount of salt roasted. Back to the burger, they take a little longer than the other place but the burger taste just as good too. The food tasted fresh but I waited 25 min and it wasn't THAT busy. Idk maybe they were short staffed or something but I don't really think my burger was memorable. I probably wouldn't return because I don't want to wait 25 min for a burger that isn't gourmet. I had to ask about my order I think they forgot it to be honest so I really wanted to ask for a refund but I've never been to a five guys. They didn't leave a lasting impression on me and I think HD BURGER AND MORE has a wayyy better burger. There are quite a few places to get burgers in this area. I would say this a good spot for kids because they have peanuts and the atmosphere is just a bunch of tables and chairs in an open area so if you had 10 people in your party all you'd have to do is combine the tables yourself. The floor was clean but the cashier didn't really have any real customer service experience. The interaction was blah, and I really just wish a manger was around to canvass the restaurant to ask people how things were. I may have not been so harsh with the review. I would say if you like burgers do yourself a favor and drive a mile down the road and holla at Haroon and Dena, the owners of HD burgers and more. No, I'm not paid to write this review. Never been to a five guys so this was my first experience. I got the burger and fries. The burger was crumbly meat and not very thick. It was better than a fast food chain, but I felt sub par for a $5. My wife and friend enjoyed the fries, I thought they were soggy and tasted like most other fries, nothing special. We did get alot of them. I think the best part was the soda machine that dispensed every coke product. Our friend ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. It was super cheesy on sour dough. It tasted like every other grilled cheese sandwich I've had on sourdough. The staff was nice enough and they had two girls running around keeping the place clean. So for a a coke fries and burger at $11 dollars, I was disappointed, but it did taste ok. read more

After a movie on Saturday I decided to take my lady to have a great burger.....this is the place for a great bacon cheeseburger....food was great...the only problem was the place was filthy....crumbs and food covered the floor,many of the tables were dirty....there were only 3 customers eating and no one else...also there were 4 employees....someone could have wiped the tables and swept the floor while it was a slow period....the place was not clean....I hope my next visit will provide a cleaner environment....JP read more

Ok yes I love this place. It's better than Habit. Simple menus, easy to order, large dining area, clean, the people are nice aaannnddddd it's got an app that lets you very easily pre order and pay. Great burger place in the far corners of Brentwood. Delicious build your own burger location with lots of potential to create meat monsters if you're willing to pay for it. First off I have nothing to do with this company .. I have no friends or relatives that work their .. Been there twice .. I went in on Saturday .. Ordered a burger fries and a coke .. $18+ dollars .. A bit pricey .. While waiting I noticed all the articles on the wall about great food and huge portions .. Got my food and proceeded to drive home munching on the fries .. Got home and still had lots of fries left .. Good burger lots of great fries I was happy .. Went back the next day and went to the front counter .. A black (my only way to reference who waited on me) guy was there staring at me I asked you ready for my order ? He mumbled something .. I ordered the exact same thing .. Burger fries and a coke .. Got my coke and waited for my food .. Got my bag of food and there was a medium cup of fries no more .. The day before the cup was overflowing with fries .. I literally got twice the fries the day before !. Not this time ; one medium paper coffee cup of fries .. It was less than In and Out burger .. And the black kid put the fries in because I watched him .. Don't know what his problem was with me and now I'm wondering if they messed with my food .. I can go to In and Out burger twice for the money I paid and get just as good a burger so I won't be back for a while .. 18+ dollars is a lot of money for that little amount of fries .. In these trying times of 40+ million out of work and small businesses hurting I would think that you would take better care of your customers , especially at your high prices !. If this is an independent owned store this guy is hurting your business .. I have nothing to do with In and Out Burger either .. Well, been along time since we have been in! I remember why. Tonight the three people working said they were overwhelmed when I asked them to address the two soda machines that only had diet orange soda. There were only three parties that ordered and another party of three that were eating. Not sure how they were overwhelmed. I also notice that the ketchup cups needed refilled, when I got the new cups the ketchup was empty. It seemed this crew was not well prepared. When my food came out, I had asked for four of my burgers for in house dinning, and one for later. Well in my Togo bag was all five of my burgers. This past Sunday evening, My grandson and I wanted fast food and tried to decide between The Habit and 5 Guys. 5 Guys won out based on their normally tasty, hot and generous serving of French fries. My grandson picked up the order within the 10 minute time frame. When we opened the bags of food, The burgers were thrown together almost as if they had given us an order cancelled or not picked up by another customer. The French fries were not golden brown but disgustingly dark in color, not burned but obviously cooked in dirty grease, eeeeewwww! Check your order before taking your food out of the restaurant and make them correct it if you are not satisfied. I ordered $86 of food online for the curbside pickup. I actually selected the 25% tip option because I am trying to support others during this difficult time. I arrived exactly at the time the webpage said my order would be ready and called in to let them know I was here. There was no answer. I went in and saw five of the most miserable people working there. I went to the take out pick up counter and stood there, woefully unacknowledged despite two employees standing maybe five feet away. Finally, I asked the guy working if my order was ready. He tells me, we are busy and it's gonna be 20 minutes. I told him I sent in a curbside order to which he just shrugged. I asked him if that was even a thing and he told me we don't do that here. It's the COVID-19 thing going on, I get it, people are miserable, I have a lot of patience. 30 minutes later, I go to ask what's up with the order I had submitted on line nearly 50 minutes prior and the guy looks at me and tells me he hadn't even started yet. There is literally been like four other people in the restaurant since I came in. Look this is CA. My idea of good service is probably out of alignment with reality and I tell myself that all the time. But this was my kid's birthday meal, so I am now starting to get pissed off. 10 minutes later, my food is ready and I check the order and it's wrong! And the short (like 5'04") white dude who looks like he hasn't showered and is sort of balding gets an attitude with me. And I don't want to get all Karen but that's it. I ask to speak to the manager. He goes, we don't have one. I told him that if that was the case, find me someone who can refund my tip money. He goes we don't have anyone and then walks into the back! I asked another employee if she could find someone who could refund my credit card and she said that person was in the back. She went go get them. I stood there and waited for 5-7 minutes, no one shows up. This was after all my kids birthday dinner and it was probably already cold. I filled an online complaint and the manager called me back and was like, yeah we were busy and oh that guy, we get a lot of complaints. Five guys have the most legit, juicy and messy burgers around. Yes, the colors reminds you of IN-N-OUT but they offer so many toppings for your burgers; mayo, mustard, mushrooms, pickles, tomatoes, pickles, onions, etc. There's a whole list that I dont even want to type out because it's just making me want a bacon cheeseburger right now. That's more topping then you get on a Big Mac! You have the option of getting a double patty! So good but so many regrets, I could only eat half. Cajun-fies, top notch! I had only been to five guys once before but had a good experience that time. So I brought a friend who has never been there for lunch the other day and I was completely embarrassed. The gal at the register for some reason, just would not answer any questions. She got our orders completely mixed up. When we sat down to eat... Both burgers looked like they were made yesterday and had been sat on before sending them out to the customers. The buns were a mess the burgers were just as bad. The cheese on mine had been melted to the point of almost being a liquid. And the fries I'm sorry to say absolutely sucked. All for $40 with the tip. The Habit or In and Out Would have been so much better. I'm sorry... But presentation even in fast food makes a difference. The food that we were served looked like... Well... Never mind.
