burger was soggy, flavorless and had maybe half a piece of bacon. Fries possibly under cooked.

Well, compared to a lot of the other reviews that i read regarding this location, I think those people don't get the concept or are focused on entirely the wrong thing. If you write a review, make sure its in the context of the location and not looking to just be funny or slam someone for a ridiculous reason: i.e. "...the peanuts weren't salty enough." REALLY!? Its called Five Guys Burgers and Fries, not Five Guys Peanuts... and Oh We Have Some Other Stuff, Too. Walking in the door I was immediately impressed with the displays of accolades on the walls, no matter how big or little the publication. The other thing that I noticed and always enjoy, is that they had a listing of where today's fries had come from. In our case, a spud farm in Washington. Those little touches make a huge difference in truly knowing the freshness of product and that its not just some bag of processed potatoes dumped into a fryer. That being said, the fries are not your typical crispy crust, dusted in sugar to caramelize crap you get at Burger King and McDonald's. These are thick cut fries cooked in peanut old and then removed and seasoned. Called "Boardwalk Style," they are big and flavorful, not hindering the taste of the potato itself, and not fried and fried and fried to a stiff crisp like so many other places. They aren't soggy like others have said, this is an east coast style that people here in TX are probably just unfamiliar with. As for the burger, I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and had it topped with all the standard toppings they would allow for free- which is a lot mind you. The burger itself was wonderfully juicy and flavorful, the toppings plentiful, and quite a fair portion for the price. About one side of my burger had half-melted cheese, but if thats the only blemish, I can deal with that... well, besides the guys behind the counter oggling my date everywhere she walked or any time she had to get up. Anyway, I would say the burger's flavor and freshness lived up to the hype for me and was worthy of much of its given press. As far as for my search for the best burger in town, the only reason this won't go to the top of the list is because with my palate and what I'm looking for, the burger has all the nuances of great product, but I'm also looking for that gourmet combination. I have been to this establishment before and realized that it wasn't clean than why should I expect any different? I gave them the benefit, but this time really... the place was filthy, soda machine, tables, and floors. There were only 2 customers in there so I know they weren't busy. The guy making my burger was nice. I usually watch people making my good because you never know from my experiences at fast food places. The guy with his gloves on reached up and touched his head, neck and hat. Never changed his gloves after that. Gave me my burger said have a nice day. I had some errands to do and forgot about the burger. Got home took one bite the sandwich tasted like baby oil...I threw up cause I remembered about his hands... so disgusting!!! Dear Burger Fans, I recently began a quest for good burgers, along with my team at work. This past week, I took my fabulous work team to the Five Guys. Now, I heard about this joint because everyone keeps comparing it to In and Out Burger. Now, I have not been to In and Out Burger so I can't compare it to you. SIDEBAR - I do however, love White Castle and it's so unfair that it is not in Texas. We ventured out on a sunny Tuesday afternoon, arrived, and the place was relatively packed. Which I find to be a good sign. We got to the front of the line and to my happy delight, the toppings were FREE. Not something ridiculous like $1.75 for mushrooms. I hate that. I am just like, hey add the good stuff and quit charging me. Now one of my employee's said that her man said you have to get the double for the full affect of the burger. So while 3 people got the little cheeseburger. I gorged myself on the double. And guess what, the double makes you crazy FULL, so get the little one. Really, it will be plenty unless you are entering a sumo wrestling contest and you must reach 400lbs by the end of LUNCH! We ordered 2 regular fries, and 1 large. Truly, we could have gotten like 2 larges and been done with it. But hey, we didn't know. One flavor comes in Cajun. It's pretty good on fries and I am not Cajun, nor do I have a good tan...EVER. So I would suggest the Cajun. It's not so spicy, that your tongue will ignite on fire. We had to wait awhile for a burger, but mind you it was like 11:45am and the place was hopping. But for the record, there was like 9 guys and 1 chick, so I am not sure why it says 5 guys, because there were more. I did enjoy this place very much and would recommend it to the burger connoisseur. It is a delicious burger and it's better than a fast food burger Ala McDonald's or something. It's juicy. Plus, they have a simple menu, it's says, hey we make burgers and hot dogs, get to it! I will also comment that it is very clean, the floors were clean, the people wore gloves and weren't back there licking their fingers. Plus, you can watch them make the burger. WOW! I had never heard of this place until a coworker suggested it last week. I'm glad he did! I had the basic cheeseburger that was anything but basic. The flavor was incredible but it did get a little messier than I like my burger to be. The Cajun fries were awesome and they serve plenty of them! If I had to find a negative it would be price. I usually don't pay $12 for a burger, fries, and drink, But it is so good that I will pay it again. read more

My 9 year old grandson and I both consider ourselves hamburger snobs , we LOVE a good burger so here is our take on 5 Guys. Clean, friendly and bright atmosphere. Now the food, buns lightly toasted on the flat grill a big plus! Flat grilled patties and fresh ingredients ! But both of our burgers were not constructed as we ordered, but very tasty ! Five Guys burgers are cooked to order and taste great. You can mix shake flavors however you'd like (strawberry and banana are wonderful!!). The burger prices are around 5-7 dollars which isn't bad for such a great taste. Yum! read more

Well finally went to my first five guys and I have to say it was pretty good. We are burger snobs so this place will go into the list of places to go. Got the bacon cheeseburger "all the way" i thought it was great. I don't know what people are talking about the fries they are awesome, l love peanut oil fries. So we order 3 burger and fries last night on our way to go out to the movie. We order it to go. And when we went to eat our burgers they had mushrooms on them all of them. Checked the receipt did not have mushrooms on the order. Seeing how we all HATE mushrooms burgers they went in the trash. $30 for an order of fries was all we ate. I've been wanting to try this place and I finally did Friday night. The burgers were ok....fries are separate and an order of them would have pushed the price of the burger over 8 bucks....for the size of the burger that is too much money. The staff was polite but the thing that stands out in my mind was how HOT it was in there! Don't know if they were having issued with their a/c or what, but it was stifling in that place. read more

My first visit will probably be my last. I have heard so much hype about this place I decided to venture out. I was impressed with the Purina Dog Chow color scheme décor, displayed mounds of fries bagged like dog food which kind of reminded me of a feed store and the customer service. To sum it up, what you will get is a Burger King cheese burger priced at 5.99 with thinner cut Chick-fil-a tasting fries served in a what compares to a medium sized soda fountain cup for 4.99. As for the drinks, you are looking 2.29 for a large fountain drink. The end result was 24.95 after taxes for take-out of three burgers, two large drinks and a large serving on fries. I don't anticipate a second visit. I can have a much better meal elsewhere with the money spent. read more

When the guys are doing the cooking this place cannot be beat in Fort Worth. I'v tried all the Burger hubs and can I honestly say this is number one. The fries which I never order in other places are just spectacular sometimes I get them by themselves for dinner. The only drawback is sometimes they have women in there preparing the food and their output is like its for a little child.So if the ladies are they are doing the burgers be prepared it's not quite right. I love their fries, a lot actually and I reallllllly love that they have malt vinegar, yum! I'm actually not a fan of their burgers. I think the actual burger is far too soft in texture and in combination with a soft bun, it's just to mush for me. I do not like their cheese either. I went with the hot dog this trip and it was pretty A-OK. I don't love the whole sliced long ways and grille, but it's better than the burger. Low carb paradise. They have a Burger in a Bowl that consists of two patties and cheese. I opted for lettuce, grilled onions and mayo. Took a little longer than I expected to make but Wow! Well worth it. Excellent burgers no greasy taste and a nice mild cheese too. Served in a container with the lettuce to the side and with the grilled onions underneath. Mayo was in a little tub. I went after lunch and there was no waiting and the place offered up plenty of parking outside. Nicely seasoned burgers, fresh lettuce and the onions were very nice. I usually go across the street to the place from California with the palm trees outside. This place is faster, quieter, and the burgers are less greasy tasting. I especially enjoyed the presentation in an actual container vs a bun less burger served on paper on a tray. Great use of salt, just enough to bring out the flavor of beef. Oh they also have one of those Coke machines with the 3000 different flavors. Maybe not that many but there are a bunch! Only a couple of employees working, one of which seemed a little overwhelmed. The good, you can customize your burger any way you want and the burger was actually pretty good. The bad, the fries aren't great. They're pretty dry and tasteless. The service isn't very friendly. Our cashier was cranky and she messed up our order so we had to wait for it to be redone. Everybody else looked pretty unhappy too so.....not one of my favorite places. Won't be back! read more

Been to Five Guys twice - both times when I had a gap in my schedule and both times I was happy with at least once thing I ordered. First trip I ordered a kosher dog with sauteed onions and mushrooms, regular fries and a drink..for a total of almost 9 bucks, I believe. Food came out slow b/c of the rush, but when it did, I couldn't believe the amount of fries in there. The major PLUS about Five Guys is that they have malt vinegar and I am a fan of sprinkling vinegar on my fries...but thesefries were rather soggy, despite being fried in peanut oil, which can hold higher temps. I wonder if they ever consider blanching their fries and then frying them? They'd stay slightly crisper and wouldn't get really soggy - and I like (usually) soggy fries, but these were way too soggy! The kosher dog was great, not too salty and had a good bite, the hot dog bun was really tasty - onions were grilled perfectly but the mushrooms? Canned! They were rubbery and just not palatable, which begs me to ask - why not use fresh mushrooms? Second trip I ordered a little burger with cheese, onions and jalapenos - and the cajun fries, because I wanted to see what the hype was about those. Blech, let me tell you! They were dusted all over with some kinda cajun powder without any salt and weren't very good. I had to dunk 'em in ketchup so I could get past the papery spices (not even spicy). Burger was good, in taste and perfect size. The jalapenos threw me for a loop because they were raw cut and not pickled like you usually see and I had to extract some since the seeds were just crazy hot. Overall, I'll go back - mostly when I've got a potato craving because for the price of a 'regular' size fries, you certainly get your money's worth! Huge disappointment! I ate at five guys in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and it was amazing. Naturally I was happy to find one here in Ft. Worth, Tx. Definitely not the same! The burger patty was thin, over cooked and dry. The bacon was burned and the grilled onions were practically raw. I will never go back there again. Don't waste your money. Here in Ft. Never been to this franchise for burgers. I expected a whole lot more from this place. A friend of mine invited me to grab a bite. She was like you wanna try that place FIVE GUYS I was like sure why not? As we walked in you could see fresh Idaho potatoes stacked in the entrance, which was a good thing. Fresh cut french fries always good! We each placed our order and the cashier asked would you like fries with the order and my friend and I look at each other like duhh, so the cashier informs us that the small order of fries is big enough for two people so we go with the small. When we get our total to our surprise it's bout $20 so we pay thinkin' well that's average for this franchise? When we get our food the hamburgers contain double patties. I guess the cashier over looked tellin' us would you like a double or a single? While were sittin' down eatin' our burgers we read signs that were posted all over the restaurant of reviews where people raved about the FIVE GUY $5 BURGERS? We were like where is that location and we wouldn't have felt too bad about eatin' these very dry and regular hamburgers and as for the fries? If they would have messed them up I would have demanded a refund. All in all it wasn't those worst I've had but expected WAY WAY BETTER for all the HYPE!!! read more

For as many burger options in the immediate area one would think that to survive you would have to make a decent burger and have at least acceptable service. I found Five Guys to fail on both counts. I ordered two bacon cheese burgers to go. When we got home we realized they'd left out the bacon. No big deal, folks make mistakes. I call to let them know and they put me on hold for 5 minutes. Finally, I am told that I should call back when they aren't so busy. I tell them to forget it and that they've lost a client for life. Kincaid's and Pop's it is then! Extremely disappointed with the level of service at this location. I ordered lunch for my daughters teachers on Friday to enjoy for teacher appreciation week. I used Uber Eats for the delivery. When the food arrived they were missing 2 of the 3 burgers. This was very upsetting as this was lunch for these teachers. When I called the store the first time they said there was nothing they would do and it isn't in their hands after it leaves the store that the food arrives accurately. They indicated that the Uber driver picked up 3 orders and must of delivered the incorrect order. When I called the Uber driver this was not the case, she had picked up only two sacks and just one order from the location. So they lied to me blaming Uber. I have settled this with Uber but also disappointed at the blame game this location used for the order not coming to the school accurate and unwillingness to redeliver. Basically told me sorry nothing we can do about it. I did finally stop in and get a refund from the manager but will not be using Uber Eats ever again or eating at Five Guys!! Crazy how you can spend $70 on teacher appreciation and it backfire on your where the store doesn't care at all about the mixup. read more
