LovinLocal I stopped by for dinner Saturday. It wasn't crowded, store was clean and the staff was friendly. I ordered my meal to-go: a little bacon cheeseburger with mayo, lettuce & tomato; a regular fry & milkshake. It was $17.89 When enjoyed the shake on the way home but when I started on my burger I found that onions & pickles were added. I rarely like onions on my burgers. And the fries weren't done. They flat out left the A1 off the burger and then when we went up to get some sauce, they literally ignored us. Good quality ingredients. That's their strongest point. Their burgers are pretty big and there's not too much of a variety. If you order a combo you're going to get fries and there's more than you'll probably be able to eat. Their soda machine is pretty cool you can make all sorts of combinations. The moment we walked in i noticed a few good...and not so good things. First of all, just to get it out of the way, there was a lingering oder the whole time we were there. Im pretty sure the trash cans just needed to be emptied but im not going to lie, it totally took away from me being able to enjoy my first five-guys experience as much. But other than that it was pretty cool! There were these huge 50lb bags of potatoes stacked along the wall so you know they cut the potatoes fresh. And while waiting for your order you could just snack on some roasted peanuts by the counter. Yeah! Free peanuts!!! Woo-hoo! I ordered the double baccon cheeseburger and it did NOT dissapoint! Super tasty and moist, was full of flavor. Easily one of the best burgers I've had in a good while. My friend ordered an Oreo shake with his food. He ordered it without whip cream. You know, because he doesn't really like whip cream. (By the way, did you know you can put bacon in any shake here!) Anyway, it came out with whip cream so when he told them there was a mistake they just let him keep the first one and made him another. So you know what that meant for me??? FREE shake! I do love their hamburgers and fries, the thing is the management there doesn't have two neurons to rub together, if you place your burger oder together with the fries when the fries are backed up they will still cook your burger typically always backed up on fries so must wait for fries minimum 15 minutes that equals to a very cold burger, you figure by now they get more friers or wait to cook the burger but no such thing, they are expensive so I will either order burger or fries, wish red Robin would be closer to me I never go back to five. read more

My husband and I stopped by this place with our 9 year old daughter to check out this majorly hyped up spot. At 2 pm it seemed as though we missed the lunch crowd. There were 3 people ahead of us in line so I figured maybe a 5-7 minute wait considering there isn't that much on the menu...10 minutes later still 2 people ahead of us because the ONE cashier is STILL busy taking an order over the phone.WTH? I checked out Five Guys at 2pm on a weekday. Walked in behind one other customer; ordered a regular burger and fries. After a while I got antsy. I checked the time stamp on my receipt. It had been ten minutes since I had been paid. Still no food. The customer before me also hadn't received his food. Behind the counter one of the cooks was clowning, clapping and hooting, while the other cooks watched, idly. Five minutes later, fifteen since I had paid, I received my food. The burger was at the bottom of a grease stained paper bag, beneath over a pound of fries. I had to either eat the whole batch of fries, dump them out, or tear the bag apart to get my burger. I opted to tear apart the bag. A part of me wonders about the waste of having that many fries as part of the smaller of two sizes. Who needs that many? Would my $12 meal be cheaper if there were less? And is there something just vaguely wrong about that much food waste when others go hungry (I'm no bleeding heart; I typically vote red, and I was still troubled by this much food waste)? At the very least would the wait for the food be quicker? I don't know. I thought the burger and what fries I did eat were good but not worth the annoyance of the wait or the cost. This place is an indulgence to say the least!!! Timing will dictate the type of service you will get and well if you see a line, just turn around and try another day, it's really not worth the wait. The burgers are pretty delicious, you don't need to go big since you can get everything on there at no extra charge. I got the double patty the first time round for the Hubby and it's was ridiculous, he could barely eat it without the thing falling apart! As for the fries, holy moly, the servings are pretty crazy and so is the seasoning. They had 40 minutes to close and they were power housing ! The establishment was really clean like spotless. I watched the team and that communication was on point like I wish any work force had that . The women who was the grill master was calling out times, relaying info to "Peyton" the cashier , as vise verse . It was fast and officiant. The gentlemen that handed my food to me was going over the orders and making sure the grub hub guy had his meal . These other people had theirs , would read it back and then helped me understand what a "Malt Shake " was since my husband asked for one and I had no idea what that is and or Taste like he's from Wisconsin and I'm from South Carolina soooo I've never heard of it !! Well, I gave this place a shot since I did not like the one north of Seattle. I went after the lunch crowd so it wasn't all that busy. I ordered the cheeseburger and Cajun fries. The burger itself was good. I actually have no complaints about the yumminess of the burger. The Cajun fries on the other hand were disguisting... It tasted like it was rolled in lawrys seasoning and even more salt. I only had 3 fries before I just tossed the rest out. Service was ok... They were doing their job... No more no less. I stopped in here because I had heard all the buzz. I walked in and saw all the peanuts, which was interesting. There were 2 cashiers and about 6-8 cooks. I looked at the menu and felt it wasn't easy to read. It showed me three burger options, I think. I ordered a cheeseburger ($6). I thought maybe since the menu wasn't that explanatory and they were a new restaurant that the cashier might help me out. Not so much. In fact, two of them stood there chatting for quite a few seconds before they even looked my way. After I said cheeseburger, she shouted back "two patties". I thought, what? I didn't order two patties. She asked what I wanted on my burger and I didn't realize I had to specifically order each thing. I ordered mushrooms and onions. After I ordered I heard her shout out "one patty" and I wondered how the other person got one patty and I got two? I had been wanting to go to Five Guy's for months now, but I couldn't justify the stress on my already battered American arteries. On this day I happened to be next door ordering at pizza at Pizza Studio (don't judge me) and I thought I'd get a double bacon cheeseburger for an appetizer (don't judge me) would be incredible. The burger (with lite lettuce, mayonnaise, ketchup, extra pickles, grilled onions, and raw onions) I ordered was incredible. Easily the best burger I've had in months! It easily reminded me of why Five Guys is the upper echelon of fast food burgers if not thee best of the fast food burger segment. The burger was hot and fresh and of melt in your mouth level goodness. Even the staff was most attentive and friendly. The only reason why I deducted 2 stars here was the price. The price is horrendous for a non-restaurant setup. The Bacon Cheeseburger here (double bacon cheeseburger with your choice of a bevy of toppings) cost $9 +tax not including fries or a beverage which is "INSANE." Throw in some fries ($3 - $6 + tax) or a drink ($3 - $5) and now your at movie theater prices just to get a burger and fries. For one person your looking at $15 and thats going cheap and getting their "Little Cheeseburger" and a small fry. You can only imagine how much it would be for 2 - 4 people; so expensive you might as well go to Applebee's or the Ram where the seats have cushion. The most outrageous priced thing on the menu however is the milkshakes which come in one size and at a whopping $6 +tax! Yes SIX DOLLARS for a milkshake!!!!!!!! Just one milk shake for 6 dollars! Nevertheless, the food here is amazing and I truly believe this could be a perfect establishment if they weren't trying to discriminate between NFL players and plebeians through their pricing structure. Way overpriced and over rated for what you get. Service was very slow. There's lots of signs around the store about their burgers being the best, but that's all it is.......HYPE. Flavorless buns and fake cheese do not the best burgers make. The fries were very greasy and came in ridiculous portions. Might as well call those portions large, gigantic, and heart attack. Given the cost of potatoes its a cash cow for the restaurant. There's a Carl's Jr. on the other side of the mall, and their six dollar burger looks much like Five Guys, but costs much less. McJack 'n the King, this is not! Most of the 5 Guys menu is in the name: Burgers & Fries. They also serve fountain drinks (by way of two fancy new touch-screen controlled machines at this location) and hot dogs, but that's about it-- no onion rings, chicken nuggets, milkshakes, etc... but damn, they do the burgers & fries right! A 'regular' burger is a double; the 'little' burger has a single patty. There is a long list of toppings to choose from, bacon and cheese are the only ones that cost extra. It takes a while for the food to be prepared since every burger is made to order and so far every time I've been to a Five Guys it's been really busy (the free peanuts in the dining room make a nice appetizer, though). The fries are so fresh that they were whole potatoes just minutes before being handed to you in a greasy paper bag, and they taste like it! They're even better with the Cajun seasoning, in my opinion. I'd suggest sharing one order of fries for two (or more) people: the servings are huge! The dining room is a simple fast food no-frills affair plus a small outdoor seating area. The only decorations seem to be a lot of framed articles and awards telling you how just how awesome this restaurant chain is (or how awesome it was 5 years ago somewhere on the East Coast, depending on the document). This is the latest location of Five Guys and I am happy to see them opening so close to my hometown. Lakewood Towne Center has been a 'dying' mall/shopping area despite having some mid-size retailers trying to pull it up (Target, Old Navy, Bed Bath Beyond, etc). Five Guys is always great for a burger and fries although the price is going to run you more than a McDonald's and the wait is going to be a few minutes longer as they make things to order. Don't forget to grab some peanuts while you wait. The burgers are super greasy (which is what makes it taste so delish) and the small fries is ample enough to share! Enjoy Lakewood. Oh man... this place is good. Their burgers are so fresh and juicy. Yummmy. I get the little cheeseburger with everything + FRESH jalepenos and peppers. Most burger joints that put jalepenos on their burgers use canned/ pickled jalepenos, which is good, but fresh is always better. I once ordered their regular burger and I threw more than half of it away. I learned my lesson and now order the little burgers. Their fries are also very fresh and oh-so-good. The regular size will feed 2-3 people. I love their roasted peanuts, which is free! Free is always good! ;) I usually go during the lunch hour rush where there's a huge line of people waiting for their food. I've been here twice now since they have opened and they are very good. It's hard to please my fiance with burgers since the only fast food burger she'll eat is In-N-Out burgers and since the nearest one is in Redding, CA this will have to do. I like they give you the options of what you want on your burger, which again is nice for my picky fiance. She didn't have to ask to take off certain things. They got the order right. It seems relatively easy to order. All the items tasted fresh, usually when you order pickles they're soggy but the pickles were crispy and the bacon was good and crispy. The second time I went was around 7pm on a Friday night and it was BUSY. So it took a little while before I ordered but we're patient so it wasn't a big deal. I've had both the regular and cajun fries and enjoyed both. They give you a lot of fries. When my fiance saw how many more were in the bag her eyes got big. We got a large. We especially enjoyed the new Coca Cola fountain machines. They have many options for drink choices. We were especially happy that they have Grape Fanta (I'm a white guy btw) and many more choices. I see these soda machines expanding more into fast food restaurants. This isn't for someone looking for a dollar menu or cheapo burger. This place never disappoints. Their fries are nicely seasoned, their burgers are huge and juicy and of course they have a wide variety of soda selections to choose from. The people that work there are also very nice and pleasant. They are located in the Lakewood Town Center right next to Gamestop and across from Panera Bread. Good location as there is an abundance of parking spaces. The price is right (in my opinion) for everything considering the amount of food you get. We probably should have ordered 2 (or maybe just 1) orders of large fries, because we had tons of leftover fries! I LOVE In-N-Out, and when I read that this is the closest thing to In-N-Out we have in WA, I was ALL OVER IT!! It's good - but I'm not such a huge fan that I'd compare it to In-N-Out. It's a good burger joint, and I have nothing even remotely bad to say about the quality of the food - but I need actual "little" burgers. These things are monstrous. Not that that is a bad thing. For some people, I'm sure they LOVE it, and they can finish their burger - that's all well and good. But, I ended up trying to force myself to eat more than half of my "little burger" - I couldn't do it. EPIC FAIL. And my husband got a "normal" - so into the trash my sad half of the rest of my "little" burger went (and I hate wasting food). Went during lunch rush. Only had to wait 8 minutes from time we ordered until we received our food. I was taking my stepson there for his first experience. We ate some of their yummy peanuts while we waited. When we got our burgers, they were VERY tasty. Fresh crisp vegetables. Cheese melted just right, very well cooked meat & a nicely toasted bun. This place was my favorite for so long. I love the feel and the grill on the burgers, their huge quantities of fries. But honestly it just came down to inconsistency for me. One visit my bun was completely cold, another time my patty wasn't done all the way. They have forgotten an entire burger. It just became too many bad days. My first experience at this particular Five Guy's location was far from peaceful. It had just opened about a month or two prior and my sister decided to text me to see if I wanted to go to lunch with her here. I of course said yes. Who says no to eating food?!?! I opted to go with a big bacon cheese burger with grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, pickles, LOTS OF PICKLES, and of course A1 sauce (damn you burger king for killing the steakhouse xt a1 burgers). My sister and I waited for about 10 minutes and finally our numbers were called. Having read reviews prior to going, I knew that it was going to be wise to share a regular fry and boy was I right. The regular size of fries could feed an entire family of four. Opening up my burger the first thing I noticed was that this was REAL bacon. And I do mean REAL bacon. Not that transparant plastic you get from MCDonalds. The meat was juicy and the fries were crispy and delicious. BUT THEN... all hell breaks loose in front of the cash register. I guess some baby mama talked to the wrong baby daddy because these two guys just start going at each other into a full on fist fight. Punching and kicking each other, knocking the entire holder of water bottles into the kitchen area behind the counter. Now the fun part came next. Seeing as this place is right across the freeway from the base, this five guys location was full of army soldiers in uniform who all seemed to tackle these two idiots at once. And all while this is happening the baby mama of the baby daddy involved in the fight is screaming to leave him alone and this guy is just telling her she ain't his ho anymore. It was literally like an episode of Maury meets cops. The look on my sister's face was just priceless and you could tell she had rarely encountered any type of fighting, and seeing as this IS lakewood, I bet she was expecting some guns to go off. I've been back to this Five Guys many times and the food is always great. I haven't had anymore entertainment like the first time... but that's okay. If the music wasn't turned up so loud maybe the order would have been made correctly. Normally we like 5 guys but, our visit today at this location was more than annoying. Here is why..... 1) turn down the music, it's up way too loud! 2) our order was made incorrectly since the cashier couldn't hear what we were trying to order, even after repeating it twice. 3) arrange your tables so people can actually sit at them comfortably. 5 guys is awesome!! You choose your hamburger, toppings and sauces so it's exactly what you want. Their fries are made from local potatoes and are also yummy (make sure to get the seasoned-- much better than the regular, although kinda hot/spicy). The only downside in coming to this place is that there is a bit of a wait. BUT the wait is because they make everything fresh. Nothing is pre-made like you find at the fast food chains (which, in my opinion, is better than having that nagging thought about how long a burger could possibly sit under a heat lamp). Check out 5 guys..I can almost assure you it will be the best burger you've had in a while. read more

I have gone to Five Guys several times and I am in love with the burgers. What I love is you customize your burger with what YOU want on it. Think Subway but for burgers. However a regular burger is big enough for a man.....order the little burger if you don't want to be completely stuffed. One regular order of fries is enough Ro feed 3 people. And what I really like I'd they use locally grown potatoes....from Washington farmers! The mega drink dispenser is pretty impressive as well. They serve flavors of coke I never knew existed.
