Hard to believe first time trying Five Guys.. there used to be one near Long Beach but never went in. I think it's because this is for the hamburger, patty melt lover which I am neither. They are also known for their milkshakes.. However, I was given a gift card and decided to try the veggie sandwich and fries. The veggie sandwich consisted of mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and lettuce on a soft bun. It was delicious. The fries were plentiful and a little mushy but enjoyed immensely. Kind of a subpar experience. The burgers are dry here, because they squeeze all the juice out of the burger and keep pressing down on it. Supposed to just smash it once and let it sear, probably. Also had an awkward moment where they didn't have milkshakes after charging me for it. Had to wait awkwardly for a refund, basically held hostage so I couldn't just go elsewhere. And definitely no offer of a substitution or anything. Worst part, the person who looks like the supervisor also took my card with his greasy gloves, then went back to prepping with the same gloves. I love five guys but this location was disappointing. Hubs and I was hankering for a burger and was excited to have five guys. I ordered my normal burger via the online app and also a chocolate shake with malt powder. First time ever they forgot my jalapeños in the burger!!! I always look forward to the crispy raw jalapeños in the burger which give it the perfect crunch and spice. The burger was bland and soggy without it. This was also the first time I ordered a shake. I been craving an old fashion shake with the nice thick consistency. Not the same when they use a blender. They made the shake when I picked up the order so it should be perfect right? NOT. The shake was not mixed enough maybe? Lumps of the malt powder in the shake. Kind of gross to have to spit out lumps when trying to drink it. I tried to cheer myself up the other day by coming here to order some fries. I opened the bag in eager anticipation only to see one tiny cup of fries, with no extras at all in the bag. A picture's worth a thousand words here. What happened?? I've been to numerous other five guys recently and they always, ALWAYS dump extra fries in the bag regardless of the size fry you order. Besides that, 4.50 is an absolutely insane price to pay for this minuscule amount of fries. This cup was so small I would still be thirsty if I were drinking water out of it. The staff are friendly, warm and welcoming. They were well staffed. It seems that they increased their prices on the menu. The dining area is large enough and it does have adequate seating. Five Guys is typically not my go-to burger spot but it's the only decent burger joint in the area of Little Neck and Douglaston. This location is very accessible, right off the Long Island Expressway on the westbound side. Plenty of free parking in the lot that's shared with the other stores in the strip mall. I personally find their burgers very greasy..and sometimes very overcooked..lol I do like that they don't charge extra for all those toppings on the menu. And their cajun fries are legit. I like how they put the burgers on the bottom of the paper bag and then dump a heaping pile of cajun fries. Overall, not a bad choice once in awhile when you're craving a burger. read more

Meat shouldnt be squished/pressed but I guess five guys has a training method for their burger patty. Cashier told me I could add any toppings so I went all out lol. So I wen to Five Burgers for the very first time on 1 condition. I was super hungry! The minute we walked in, I knew we had made the right choice. I watched the faces of the customers as I walked to the back of the restaurant to get on line. Everyone was happy with their burger, fries or fries and hot dog. Seriously elatedly (if that's even a word) happy. Those who didn't have their food yet were snacking on the free peanuts. Upon speaking to the cashier it was evident I was a first timer. She asked would I like a little burger and my reply was, "Do I look like I eat little burgers?" Poor thing had to explain to me that a little burger is a single. I laughed and asked for the works (sans mushrooms, yucko). The burgers are made fresh to order and the wait was about 10 minutes. It was worth it! My burger was juicy and hot! I came here to grab lunch before I went to work. I wanted only fries because I don't eat beef and they didn't have a turkey burger or chicken sandwich option. They do have a veggie sandwich option, however I just wanted fries. The place was VERY clean and organized. The staff was very fast and had good customer service. I asked the cashier questions about the portion size of the fries and she was very honest which I appreciated. I ordered a small fries which was perfect. Essentially your choices are a cheeseburger (2 patties and toppings) little cheeseburger (1 patty and toppings) or a hot dog. They also have grilled cheese and vegetable sandwiches as the token vegetarian items, but to be honest, I would seek those options elsewhere if that's your thing. Your vegetables or sandwich might end up being fried in beef fat which is ideal in my opinion, but bad for you. As for the beef, the patties are all fried to order on a big flat top griddle. The french fries, skin on, are done perfectly and you can choose from regular or cajun seasoned. They have baskets upon baskets of blanched potatoes and then they are fried to order. Nothing at this place sits under heat lamps, which is ideal for fast food. If you can finish the regular cheeseburger, which is really a double, and a small fry, I truly commend your eating ability. I could never imagine getting the large fry because when the serve you, they fill up a cup with fries, put it in a bag, and then toss even more fries on top. It's easily enough for 2 people. The staff were all extremely pleasant, and they even asked if I wanted my onions grilled or raw on the burger. I thought that was quite nice and thoughtful of them.
