Out of the ones I tasted, I would order them: Pimento Mac & Cheese - cheesy goodness, pasta on the softer side, but still acceptable Black Eyed Pea Salad - a nice refreshing take on beans with a good hit of vinegar. Pairs well with fried chicken Cole Slaw - a pretty standard, but solid slaw Bacon Cheddar Grits - very cheesy, a little thinner than I was expecting Hattie B's knows what they're doing and are cranking out good food. Love the food and I think it's reasonably priced.

Finally learned to appreciate the famous "best fast food burger" Big Apple! After two summer visits and as many detour to Five Guys Burgers and Fries in Madison Park (with its famous long line), what happiness it was to find one in the food court (the basement dedicated to fast food) of the sublime Grand Central. Five Guys Burgers and Fries (with a fried vegetable patty) is insane, the Smoke (bacon and peppers) is excellent, as a simple hamburger. Fries on top. Do not add the cheese. My husband and I stopped for a quick lunch on our way to our daughter's. We don't have a Five Guys close to home. We ordered our meal and looked for an available CLEAN table. The entire back of the building was empty, however no tables were clean and the floor was disgusting! The food was pretty good, but I felt uncomfortable in my unkempt surroundings. WOW!!! As good, if not better then the awesome burger you get at your buddy's back yard BBQ! Just with more topping to choose from and some of the best fries out there. We got two single cheeseburgers, a double cheeseburger, an order of animal fries (fries with American cheese, caramelized onions, and their special sauce on top), a small soda, a large soda, and a milkshake for $28. While the sauce for the burgers was good, I was disappointed that they don't have mayo at all. I've never been to a burger place that doesn't have mayo, even in packets. We waited about 5-7 minutes for our food to be ready and decided to eat outside to avoid being pestered by flies. Ironically, we didn't see any flies outside. They must've all went inside. I will say, the burgers are very good. The patties are thin and are done just right. They had a good taste and a single was more than enough for me. I snagged a few of the animal fries and they were interesting. I wouldn't order them myself but I would share them again if the opportunity presented itself. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with the meal. I would go back but they'd have to address the issue with the flies or I don't think I'd eat there again.

This particular location has some issues with upkeep and service. There are always plenty of folks in the kitchen, easily four each time I have visited, and not one of them seems helpful for the most part. The lobby is usually in some sort of disarray with trash on the floors and tables, along with full trash cans. Just an unappealing spots to grab food in, or at least eat in. The food itself is always top notch, so I have to give props where due. Prices have increased a bit recently with some sandwiches pushing $13 for regular and a medium/regular fry being over $4. I go back and forth on if it's worth it, and to date...it still is, but it is a special treat spot for at this point!
