It's been awhile since I wrote a review due to what's been going on. I am in San Jose for a family emergency and I decided get my father some takeout. I have been to five guys several times and I thought it was time to write a review. My father and I both had the little cheeseburger which Were very good. We both split a large fries which were awesome. My father had a chocolate milkshake which he really enjoyed. I had a sip and it was pretty darn good. Due to the coronavirus, we had to do take out. I usually eat in because I have found that if you take a burger to go... the bun gets soggy. Well... I really could not do that. I was surprised the bun held up. Enough of that... back to the service. The staff were extremely nice and courteous. My food was ready on time due to I ordered the food from the five guys app! Made it easy. I know the staff is under pressure and risking their health due the virus and I wanted to say they were awesome. I really appreciated their service. I tip my hat to the managers and staff. My family, BF and I love this plc. esp this location because they have shakes. Some locations do not have the milk shakes. Burgers are standard american. I love getting a single patty burger with the standard toppings (lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup, mustard, onions and I add jalapenos). I also love to get a peanut butter chocolate milk shake, it tastes like a pb reeses cup.You know the produce is fresh when the jalapenos are the lime green color and are crisp and NOT the muddy soggy green (which is canned, yuk). This location is perfect and there is ample parking. Pretty clean inside. Service is good. I only had one bad thing happen here. I had ordered fries and the girl didn't put it in the actual order and I didn't think to check my receipt and food as I had left home. So I had no fries. I was totally fine without them because I don't need the extra calories, lol. But their fries are good. I would also suggest a whole wheat bun option. read more

Of the roughly 10 Five Guy locations I've been to in several states, this is my favorite. It's well-kept, has friendly service, and always serves up consistently good burgers and fries. It's also in a nice shopping center and is surrounded by other new, clean restaurants and shops. Parking is never a problem also. read more

This franchise has really gone down hill. Walk into the store stand in line and wait to be greeted by this heavy set guy with a major attitude. I get the Corona virus has reduced your customers and you don't have a lot of work to do and want to hang out with your friends behind the counter but the customer comes first. Act like you want your job explain you aren't accepting cash before the purchase is ordered and make a sign big enough for people to see and post it somewhere visible not down on the counter at the opposite register. Got a regular fry and drink total was $17.88. Place used to be affordable. Sign on the wall says 2017 most affordable burger high quality San Jose times. How is $4 for a fry $2 for a soft drink which by the way fix your machine. You were out of everything and the coke I settled for was flat and pure syrup. The burger said 8.99 on the board how was it $11 plus dollars? The burger was undercooked. The Fry's were charred and slimey as if they had been recooked through out the day and soaked in oil. This was a horrible experience and I won't ever shop at 5 guys again. Not just because the price but the lack of customer service and poor food quality. I should never have to say this but McDonald's tastes looks better and has decent customer service compared to this location and my over all experience at any given five guys. read more

Pros: Hands down the best fast food burger place in my opinion. The "peanut oil everything" is a great gimmick. Anyone with an allergy should know better than to come here. I love five guys, whenever I'm craving a burgers this is my go to place. I used the frequent the location at the plant, but bow that I moved to this side I town I finally had the opportunity to try this location out. The customer service here is great. The gal at the register was very bubbly and patient when a person in my group wad indecisive. As far as the food, it's just as good as the other locations. Only thing is, that is was very crowded when I came. There was a long line and no where to sit. I always like to eat in, so my food doesn't get cold by the time I get home. This store closes at 9pm not 10pm like it states on yelp. I called at 8:50 several times to place a pick up order because i live across the street and no one answered even though it states the number to call for pickup orders due to covid. I get there at 8:59 and no one is paying attention so when it hit 9pm they said they were closed. The one star is for the customer service being terrible and not to mention there is a tall girl who dropped my burger the last time i was here and instead of making a new one, they just wrapped it in a different wrapper. The fries were fried in old, stale, burnt oil. I showed them the fries and asked if all their fries are like this (my first time here) and she said, "Oh yes, with the extra overflow added?" I said no, with over-used frying oil. She didn't seem to understand. She replaced them. The new ones were the same. I don't know how cooking another batch in the old oil was supposed to change anything. The burger (mushroom and onions) was not very good. I took a few bites and brought it home for my dogs. Ordered 2 burgers and a medium-sized fries to go. We live very close by and on the 3 minute drive home, the bottom of the bag was soaked. We found out later it was relish dripping out of one of the burgers. The burgers tasted good and I can tell the ingredients are good but they wrapped them in aluminum foil, which causes them to become a soggy mess in only a few minutes. This place's burgers remind me of In-N-Out, but with much bigger burgers. The fries are just OK, nothing to write home about. I suspect that the dine-in experience would be much different. This place is worth a second try but next time we will dine in and I will try a shake. Unfortunately, they blast music like every other restaurant around here. Had an abysmal experience on every possible level. I door dashed and received my food over 2 hours later and cold. Cost of dashing, I get it, but the store also got my order wrong. I took it back and was told they would replace it no problem so I waited 10-15 minutes then the shift leader/manager showed up and told me they weren't going to give me a new burger. The door dash went to almaden for my order and I would have to go there to get a new one. After waiting that long on an even longer day I was willing to just go home with my messed up burger. I asked for my burger back and heard one of the employees say to another that it was in the trash. The employee went toward the trash to get my burger and only stopped when I complained. I told the lead they threw away my burger and he just told me they couldn't replace my burger. No apology, just told me he could call ahead for me but I'd have to go to Almaden for anything. Went in around 2pm on Sunday, there was no line. I ordered a little bacon cheese burger and asked to get all the toppings except tomatoes and mushrooms but the cashier just could not wrap her head around that. She kept repeating that "all the way" meant certain toppings and not others, but you can add the other toppings. So once again I repeated I wanted to order the burger with all the toppings except tomatoes and mushrooms. It went back and forth until I had to list each and every topping that I wanted one by one. Bun, meat, cheese, bacon, lettuce, pickles, grilled jalapeños, everything other than tomatoes and mushrooms. The second burger was a little bacon cheese burger with lettuce and grilled onion only. In addition to the two burgers we ordered a large Cajun fry and a large soda. I got my food Togo, got home, and the entire order looked awful. On the first burger, tomatoes. There was only two things I didn't want on the burger; tomatoes and mushrooms. Took the tomatoes off only to unwrap the burger a little more and the entire bottom bun is mush, the tiniest piece of wilted lettuce, the cheese was not melted,just the whole appearance of the burger was unappetizing. On the second burger there was no cheese. We didn't eat any of the food and immediately drive back to get a refund. The manager in the black shirt had her phone on the counter and was texting so I had to ask another employee to get her attention. I told the manager that my order was incorrect and I would like a refund. She held out her hand without saying anything so I handed her the bag of food, that had the kitchen ticket taped onto it, she then rudely asked me for just the receipt. She started to walk to another counter so I followed her where she then asked me for the bag of food and asked what was wrong with it. I started to tell her the cashier had trouble when I ordered and began to repeat what I wanted to order. The manager opens up the burgers and fingers through them to look at the toppings and asks " you don't just want these remade?" I will never be back to this location, none the less even bother with five guys ever again. I told the manager I did not want the order remade and then the manager asked me " so you want the soda refunded to?" As if getting my entire order wrong, having a terrible product, and having a rude manager wasn't enough of a hassle to deal with. I told her I'd pay for the soda no problem. When she processed the refund she must have done it wrong because when she asked to me to insert the card the machine would immediately ask me to remove the card and the manager told me I had "insufficient funds". I had to remind her that she was issuing me a refund! She tried twice more to refund my card before she asked me if I wanted cash. DO NOT GO TO FIVE GUYS read more

My bf and I were hungry and got pretty tired of eating mexican food. We always by pass Five guys because I never thought that it would be good. I ordered the bacon cheese hotdog topped with grilled onions grilled green peppers and tomato with Fries. As I took my first bite I was amazed like there was so much flavor! I would def say this hotdog is in my top 3! I'M NOT really one for burgers j love dogs and this one amazed me. I wanted to stand ion the table and compliment the chef lol. The one thing I noticed was how the the patties were smashed into the cooking surface as if this was their outlet for all of their pent up frustration. Five guys used to be good years ago but now they are not great. They had way too much employees. Overall this place is just overrated.
