Fresh cooked to order burgers & hot delicious fries with a side of fresh peanuts while yoy wait. There are a variety of toppings for your burger. I'm pretty simple and just get the grilled onions & mustard. If the burger is delicious you really don't need all the other toppings. It will definitely cost you a few bucks more than the regular hamburger place; however when it comes out about 5 minutes later in your brown bag with grease marks from the fries that they dumped in the bag and your burger wrapped in foil cooked hot and fresh, it's like a Christmas gift made especially for you! So I was in town and because there has been so much hype about Five Guys possibly being better than In-n-Out I had to try this place. I order the cheeseburger (the works), little fries, and a drink. I am read my bill could not believe how expensive it was. I pickup my order and take a glance, honestly presentation not all that impressive especially with the cheese not melted on the burger. My guess is the cheese is placed after the burger is cooked. Now for the taste, was really surprised, plenty flavor, but would order a little burger the next time around. But definitely not better than In-n-Out. The fries were impressive, tasted fresh, and may be better than In-n-Out. My overall experience was shocking, but I still give In-n-Out the upper hand. read more

PLEASE NOTE: This is a fast food burger restaurant. Very, very fast foody environment. No waitress or anything fancy what so ever. Very loud and bright. The reason I highlight this detail is the price. I ordered a Bacon cheeseburger, regular fries, and regular soda. This cost $16.48 with tax! Remember, I ordered a hamburger and fries, not a steak. The burger and fries were very good. Although, they warn you upfront that they overcook them "well done". Very very greasy burger. But, like I said, still tasted good. You might be thinking for the price it's huge. No, not at all. This was very similar to a Steak 'n Shake double steak burger. No big deal. For comparison a Steak 'n Shake double with bacon cost $4.79 and it comes with the fries. That's the other annoying thing about this place. No combo discount. Everything is sold a' la carte. Which is surprising because all the menu includes is burgers fries and soda. That's it. Don't expect a cookie or anything for dessert. Also, the walls are 100% covered or littered with obnoxious "reviews" praising the company in general. Most reviews are very old. I'm sure somebody wrote a positive review about every restaurant at some point in time. But they don't mount them all on the wall forever. Overall the place seems ok. Clean enough. People are nice enough, not overly friendly, but seem to be working hard. Oh, and they have huge boxes of help yourself unshelled peanuts for free. Although, after paying $16.48 for a meal worth half that, I'm not so sure I consider them "free". read more

I love going to Five Guys when I go to visit family in the St. Louis area. We don't have them where I live. The burgers and fries are a step above what other fast food places offer. That location has the new soda machines that offer several dozen different flavors instead of the traditional half dozen. read more

I am a fat guy and I love me some fast food burgers but due to doctor's orders I do not do as much fast food, particularly ground beef :(. I had always heard that Five Guys was the best but I am usually not in the area. Today I was, saw there was a Five Guys at exit 14 on I-270 and so I decided to treat myself. I have been VERY good lately - steamed or raw veggies and chicken or fish (never fried) every night for a while now. So I deserved this... I hate fish. I love the set up - made to order burgers and fresh cut fries with all toppings free and among them GRILLED ONIONS!!!! YUM!!! And there are a ton of toppings to choose from. Now I realize I am cheating so I went with a single (either single or double, w/ cheese or w/o), no cheese and all top row toppings (you have to ask for those in the second row) with Med Fries and their small drink. Got my receipt, got me some FREE peanuts for an appetizer (great idea!). But first problem I experience is that the hi-tech soda fountain is out of my brand (Coke Zero). Ok, I can overlook that. Got me a Diet Cherry Pibb (awesome soda selection but you have to be an IT guy to operate the freakin' machine). Be prepared the cost is not only HIGH, but insanely high. $12 for burger med fry, and drink. I can only imagine what feeding a family would cost! They should have a small loans counter to help the customers spread payments out over a 12 month period! So I am getting it to go and am munching my fries on the way home and the smell is driving my dog INSANE (he goes with me just about everywhere because... he's a good boy!). Tons of fries and more in the bag - love it when that happens, you think your out and the then BAM!!! More fries!!! I get home and let the dog out and unwrap the burger, wait a little bit for the dog to want back inside which won't be long because he knows what time it is! He knows I am getting ready to smash this burger. A quick pee and he turns right back around and darts to the door! I am surprised. For all of the toppings, they are all still on the burger and it is wrapped up tighter than security at Ft Knox. By now, though, the bun is soggy. Someone above suggested getting everything as side orders and assembling it when you get home. Good idea. Here is why it is 2 stars - bit into the burger and it is just as red as can be. They advertise on their in-store signage that all burgers are well done and this one was not even close. Could not eat this - E-Coli is REAL people! Ground beef needs to be well done or at least 165 degrees on the inside. Now if I could, I would give them two stars with a thumbs up because I called them up, explained the situation, and they first asked me if I was sure it was their store and after I went through their verification process (basically convincing them that I got the burger at that location), the Manager was happy to put me in for a credit for another meal (full meal - great incentive to return) at my next visit, just come in with the receipt. Good customer service, not great but good. So I will go back and I will get me another burger and if everything goes good, I will write another revue and I will give it a a better rating. read more

This last visit to Five Guys burger, the music was so loud, the employees couldn't, hear any customers, so it was hard to order. I am gluten free so I ordered one without the bun supposedly lettuce wrapped. When we got home my burger was dry and had no lettuce or anything on it, the bacon was so burnt I couldn't eat it. I spent $7 for one tiny dry patty. Too noisy. Too expensive. I'm not going to be back. read more

I agree that while In-n-Out in California and some of the other western states definitely puts 5 guys to shame, it is definitely a good burger joint for Missouri people to check out. The small burgers are still good sized, large portions of fries and I love how you can get so many toppings on your burger. Very tasty. They get my vote for burgers around the STL area. read more

My husband placed his order over the phone. He was told that his order would be ready in 8 minutes. He went to the restaurant to pick up his dinner, only to find out that no one put his burger on the grill and but no one apologized to him. We'll cross this one off our list. read more

First time here for me. Every thing served is double the size you think it is. Example large fries are about three times the size of orders served else where. A small burger is really a regular size burger. Lots of peanut oil used in cooking here. Your brown bag helps to catch the oil. Spent $20.25 on small burger, small fries and small coke on a order for two. Tables need a wipe down and a good clean up would not hurt. read more

This is my first 5 guys trip ever and let me tell you I wish I had the power to open one up where I live. This place is most definitely as advertised. The staff was amazing. I had actually already ate with the family that night but didn't know this place was there so when I drove by I had to stop and get a little cheese burger. I was so stuffed but still loved ever bite. I told the staff that it was my first time there ever and they gave me a small fry for free because they said I had to try them. Great people and great atmosphere. I hope to be able to eat there again sometime if I'm ever in town. read more

Over crowded high priced grease pit. $1.99 for a soda give me a break. 2.59 for fries whoa there. $5.99 for a single patty bacon grease cheesburger. There isn't even a double or tRiple cheeseburger on the menu. 2 good things to say about this place 1) free peanuts. 2) All condiments come included like sauteed mushrooms and onions. We were craving burgers so we tried 5guys. The burgers are a nice size, I would have bought the small size had I known the regular size was 2 patties. I liked the toppings choice. The cheese was a disappointment - plain old cheap american slapped on cold, not even melted a little. For two of us, with a small drink and sharing a small fry (large serving) was $20. Would I make the special trip again? No. If I was in the area, maybe. I f I'm eating in I would prefer not to eat out of a brown bag. The noise level was way up there, and this was with only half the tables taken. Fries are fresh cut, but not crispy. The food is greasy, like mom used to make. RE: handicapped access - the tables are close together, in a wheelchair it would be a tight fit. read more

The staff here were friendly and welcoming, and seemed absolutely genuine about being happy to be there. The ticket for my order got jammed in the receipt printer, so my food actually took about twice as long as it has in the past, but they communicated with me about what had happened and that they were aware and sorry and handling it. I work in the service industry and know that stuff goes wrong all the time. When people go out of their way to fix it and be helpful, it really stands out a lot to me. The food was awesome as always at 5 Guys, but the staff at this location bring it from a good burger joint to an excellent experience. read more

I will not return to this location! I had eaten at a different one once, and really liked it. My husband and I were in the mood for burgers, so we decided to stop by. I ordered a cheeseburger, my husband a bacon cheeseburger, and we split an order of fries. My husband got the sweet tea to drink, but he poured it out after one sip, because he said it tasted sickingely sweet. They called our number and another at the same time. I went to the counter to get our food, and I could see an employee take two burgers out of one bag and switch them with the burgers in a different bag. Then, he handed me one of the bags with the switched burgers. I took it to the table, and we opened our burger. Yep-you guessed it, they were the wrong burgers. Not even close to what we ordered, so I took them back to the counter. The guy then accused me of taking the wrong bag, when he had literally placed it in my hand. They remade our burgers, but it took a while. Longer than it did the first time around. I ate about half the burger, which fell apart and was very difficult to eat. Pickles fell out everywhere. I left with a stomachache and no desire to ever return. read more

Just went on 1-26-13 and it appears they have made their patties smaller. The single only covered about 75% of the bun. I don't think For the price it is worth it anymore. Used to love this place. It would be nice if they posted the weight of the burgers on the menu so you know what you are paying for. read more

If you ever walk into a burger restaurant and tell yourself "Well, my self-esteem is at rock bottom, so it can't be much worse", then you're really in for a ride. When I took the first bite of my double bacon cheeseburger, I had finally realized why my heart had been throbbing, and why my girlfriend had cheated on me so long ago. The friendly wait staff kindly came by and asked how I was doing, and i replied with a very happy "Do you see that half of my burger is in my face" type of look. Once I moved to eat my fries I was pleasantly surprised to see that the cooks had kindly emptied an entire batch of fries into my already greasy paper bag. The hand-cut fries easily slid down my throat and into my stomach. I was glad to see that once I thought I had finished my fries, there were still many more. I enjoyed the fact that this local burger joint lowered my self-esteem to an even lower point, one even a therapist can fix. My stomach still hurts from the copious amounts of fries I forced myself to eat, and the awful taste of it still remains in my mouth. I will not sleep tonight due to all of the indigestion the burger will give me, and I might have to go to the hospital. All together the food was good and I would go back any time. read more
