I don't get what the rave is about this place. The burgers are just okay. I'm not a huge. What I do like...the fries!! They do it right by cutting their own and frying them up fresh. Why doesn't every place do it this way? It's so easy to put a potato in a cutter, pull the handle and there you have it; instant french fry. Back to the burgers...they're fried, which most people will tell you helps to preserve the juiciness of the burger by allowing a sear. Okay, I will buy into that, but why not get the good sear and then finish it on a chargrill? Yeah, that's how a great burger gets made. I do love their long list of fresh toppings. Their jalapenos are fresh cut and not pickled; I love that! I also like the way they cook their dogs. They split them and then fry them on each side. Okay, it's still a hot dog, so it's not great, but they're pretty good. Service is upbeat and friendly at most locations. Price, I don't feel like I'm getting a solid value out of it. The fries, yes they pile them on, but the burgers themselves I don't feel are worth $5-$7 each. There just isn't anything special about it and when I leave having paid $12 for a fast-food burger and fries I can only give it 3-stars. Try it and decide for yourself. read more

Was looking for a burger so we stopped here. Big mistake. The little burger is just like a burger you can get anywhere. Nothing special about it but the price, almost $6 for what amounts to a Steak n Shake single. I got the double which was a quarter pound for over $8. On top of being wildly over charged for an average burger it was 98 degrees outside and their air conditioner was broke or turned way up. This location just opened so I am going to cut it some slack. I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger and I received a Cheeseburger. Really not a big deal. In addition I also had a small fries and a soda. I believe the bill came to $10.50. My goodness do they give you the french fries! The burger came out very very well done to point it was almost burnt. So I will have to go back and see if this is the norm or just a bad night. Some people would have returned the food and asked for a correction. I chose not to because of the time it took me to get my food. This is a fast food made to order. So the wait can be a bit much. If I'm craving fast food this is the only burger I'll buy. Sure, it's more expensive and slower than places with a drive thru but it's also a lot better. The burger - a (cheese)burger is two patties and a little (cheese)burger is one. Simple enough. Load on the toppings. Don't control yourself! Why should you when all the toppings you could want are free. I even get extra tomatoes. Yum. I will say that I like all the toppings because the beef itself isn't all that flavorful. A tip for those you are ordering to go, order the bun on the side so it's not soggy when you eat it. The fries - the best fries ever. Crispy, a little greasy, flavorful.... mmm. Drinks - yay selection! Coke Zero! Sweet and unsweet tea! Mello Yellow! Mostly just excited they have Coke Zero. Oh and free peanuts. Cool. A couple of notes - they aren't stellar at always getting the toppings right. Check your order or pay attention if you're getting food to go. Also, a note for those that are gluten free... during lent avoid Five Guys on Fridays. Normally the grill for buns is separate from burgers but during lent the burger side gets invaded by grilled cheese and therefore gluten. read more

Great location right at Ballas and Olive. I used the online ordering the last time. Worked awesome, they made it just like I asked. Menu is VERY simple. Burgers, Dogs and Fries. What you see is what you get. Regular fries easily feed two people. I prefer the cajun fries, they make your lips buzz a bit, but it's a good burn. I always order the Bacon Cheeseburger with Mayo, Mustard and A-1 Steak Sauce. It's marvelous. read more

The quality of the burgers is significantly better than fast food or food-service quality bar burgers. The price is high, allegedly because the quality of the meat and ingredients is better - whether they are, and whether that justifies the price would require more research than I am prepared to do. I also like the low carbohydrate option of getting a lettuce wrap for your burger, which I have tried with skepticism, but they pulled it off well. The prices are rather high, which is to be expected, but perhaps a little beyond what you might expect or what is reasonable, so I'd give them 3.5 stars if possible. VENT: There are a number of absolutely useless reviews here complaining that the burgers are greasy and that the options "unhealthy." The name of the place clearly denotes that it is a burger place (as opposed to a turkey burger place?) and the alternative to greasy burgers is dry, overcooked burgers, so it is somewhat baffling that people went to a burger place and complained about the delicious beef fat on their sandwich. read more

Feeling 3.5 stars. Fairly fast. Build your own burger. Good spot to stop for lunch. Employees are friendly with good service. 1 minor criticism is that some of the BBQ sauce got onto the top of the top bun. I don't mind messy burgers in general, but I prefer condiments to be between the buns, not outside. This certainly is not a dealbreaker for me. The cheese is kind of off-putting for me, not sure why, but it has a Kraft-like taste to it. Fast service, but screwed up my order. I ordered a bacon burger (not bacon cheeseburger) and it came up as that on the register, but to ensure they got the right thing I further confirmed by saying "Please make sure there is absolutely no cheese on that." Guess what ended up on my burger? Cheese. Additionally the bun was soggy and the fries I ordered were very cold and obviously old, and they came in a very small portion, not like I've received at other locations. Fair burger, but it is nice that they offer additional toppings without an extra charge. The fries are not as special as one would believe due to all the advertising. As a grill connoisseur, I have a problem with someone using a spatula to smash the ground beef into a pancake size burger. While this may help a low paid grill jockey cook his food at an even temperature, well done only per company standards, 30 seconds too long make for a dried out burger. Love their burgers. Normally I drink a soda but this time I just wanted water. I don't like those tiny cups that many places give out with water, so I always ask for a regular sized cup which is always given free of charge. But not here. Said they'd have to charge me for the bigger cup so I declined and left and will not return unless they loosen up on water drinkers. Ok I've been trying to get to a Five Guys for about 2 months now. Finally I made myself go have a late lunch on a Friday. What's all the fuss about? They're just ok. They taste like my Aunt's pan fried fresh burgers. Yes the food is made to order, yes the quality is very fresh and the staff was completely unequivocally nice. I will not be making a trip out of my way for this burger. If I want something like this I'll go to Chuck A Burger. For that matter Sybergs has one of my favorite burgers & fries. Five guys is a great go-to for a fresh handmade burger. Tons of topping options. The double cheese burger is a lot of food so come hungry. I really like it. Made form scratch burgers and fries. Reminds me of a couple small greasy hamburger joints from my youth. These places went out of business because they couldn't compete with the chains. At $10 for a burger and fries 5 guys isn't really competing with the chains. First time, last time. First: We both had double meat burgers, no cheese, that were large enough, but the meat had no taste that we could detect. 2. The fries were OK and lots of them, but nothing special. 3. They were bagged in a small bag with the burger at the bottom which was very inconvenient to get to the burger without diving through the fries with your hand. 4. Since I ate there recently and sent a review into the company expecting a response, and they didn't give a damn, I thought I'd write a review of my experience at the creve coeur location and it won't be pretty. After a long week, i stopped in for a burger and fries to take home and enjoy - well, it was far from ANYTHING enjoyable. I watches them prepare my food - the burger patties they put on the bun were clearly dry. It wouldn't surprise me if they were precooked and just sitting there waiting to be served to someone. The add-on's, bacon - BURNT, grilled onions - MUSH, jalapeños - RAW - why in the heck would you not put them on the flat top and brown them up? The bun - literally a mushy mess. The French fries - GREASY, LIMP and would have benefitted from being dipped in viagra! Hands down the WORST food and burger I have ever eaten. And the sad part??? The first time I went there, it was horrible! So no one from the company or management has bothered to get back to me AFTER I requested a response - so good luck Five Guys - You're gonna need it! read more

The self proclaimed best burger by the signage on the wall left my stomach wondering. I didn't have to think very hard to remember countless burgers that were 10x's better.
