I was fiending for a burger and went to five guys for lunch. i always get the "little cheeseburger", which is the size of a normal cheeseburger and fries. It's so good that when I'm done, I always want another burger... I should probably keep that to myself but the food is that good. read more

This one is a bit past Chinatown, but the few times I am been there, I have had to avoid the bums that sit inside with a coke and eat the free peanuts. I am a vegetarian, but I love a good grilled cheese from a good burger joint. 5 Guys was great for this because you can get everything you want on your bun...including: lettuce, tomato, mushroom, relish, onions (grilled or regular), pickles,and much more. The fries on the other hand we okay. Make sure you get a large and split them, because there are way too many to eat. Also, one more tip. I really like Five Guys burgers. They have a simple menu and do it all right. I love the burgers with the toppings I want (pretty much everything). I like the fries. I like the peanuts sitting out to snack on. I don't think you can go wrong with a Five Guys burger, unless you are trying to watch your calories. read more

This tasted no better than BK or McDonalds. It was just plain bad. It gave me a stomach ache. The worst part, I looked at the calorie count online. One burger with no mayo, bacon or cheese with a side of fries is 1600 calories. No wonder I felt sick. I wouldn't eat this garbage again if you paid me. read more

Food was great as usual, however it was one of the filthiest restaurants I've ever seen. Floors one slip from someone suing. Bathrooms...just say no, even though they keep them passcoded. When you are craving a MEATY burger and the normal fast food staples just won't do, then you should run to a 5 Guys. I didn't know what to expect from my first visit here, but it paid off and left me in the perfect belly-filled food coma. I got a cheeseburger with tomato, pickle, and A1...delicious! I also split a regular order of Cajun fries which hit the spot just right (a regular order of fries is more than enough for two people). Not only did the fries have a nice touch of spice, but I also got to soak them in malt vinegar! The burger was very juicy and delicious as well as the fries. The only minor complaint I have is how little A1 was actually on my burger...but other than that I approve! read more

I went there over lunchtime to get a burger. After it was ready, I found that there was no where to sit. They had 95% of the tables closed off. You couldn't ever get to the bathroom if you needed. Someone was working in the ceiling. I told a guy at the counter about the problem and he kept telling me to sit at one of the 5 counter seats (those were the only seats not blocked off). I kept telling him that they were all taken because they were. I felt like throwing my burger at him! I told him they should do that kind of work when the store was closed. I had just finished running the Army Ten Miler through downtown DC and was ravenous. Like that Dennis Leary, bring me a live cow and I'll carve off what I want and ride the rest home kind of ravenous. I don't really eat hamburgers that often except when I go home to Native Seattle for Christmas and make my annual pilgrimage to Dick's. Somehow though, Five Guys just seemed like the right place to go. A half pound burger, Cajun fries and a chocolate shake later I was in some kind of food based delirium. My food starved body seemed to absorb everything. God damn these people know how to make a burger. Everything about the place was fantastic. Simple menu? Check. Fries crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful within? Check. Thick silky milkshake blended on the premises? Check. Huge juicy burger with fresh crisp lettuce and tomatoes and all the proper accoutrements? Check. This place is a winner. I went to the one in Chinatown but I've heard through the grapevine that they're all quite good. If you crave a burger in this town, Five Guys wont let you down. read more

I'm from California, so I've been looking for a replacement for In N Out since I moved to the DC area. My friend suggested Five Guys and I have to say I'm pretty pleased. It's no In N Out -- which still is my favorite fast food establishment -- but it's pretty damn good. The burgers are big/tall and juicy. I love that the normal size is a double (singles are called little) and that you can choose which toppings you want on your burger -- all of them are free. There isn't "animal style" but you can get pretty close with the ketchup, mayo, and relish. The regular fries are super big, so I wouldn't recommend getting a large order unless you're sharing with friends. I always get the cheeseburger when I go -- haven't ventured out to the hot dogs or bacon burgers yet. I go here pretty often when I'm walking around doing errands or shopping. It's definitely better than your average chains (McD's, Burger King, etc.) They also have free peanuts to eat while you're waiting for your food -- pretty awesome. read more

Good solid burgers and fries, but a bit pricey (burger, fries and coke was about $12). In-N-Out on the west coast has equal or better food, smaller portions, but about 1/2 the price or less. Probably a good option where In-N-Out doesn't exist. Staff was friendly, and restaurant was clean. read more

I stopped in to this location on 6/10/11 a couple of minutes before they were going to close for the night. They took my order, fixed me a fresh burger and cooked up a fresh batch of fries as they were closing up. Everyone was friendly, no attitude whatsoever, and the food was delicious (and indulgent) as always. It's nice not to get the evil eye when dining out late at night. read more

I believe this location was the first Five Guys that I've been to. I recall having a mushroom and onion burger with bbq sauce, the exact type of burger that I continue to order at the NY locations!! Don't get me wrong. I love 5 Guys, but I went to this location on a Sunday afternoon and it was horrible. The fries weren't fresh. They were burnt and looked like they had been fried twice after they had gotten cold. The bun on my burger was also stale. I've been to this location during the week, and it's great.
