I have a Cl600 (known for electrical issues as well as ABC suspension expenses) and Tony has been awesome to work with. He fixes what needs to get done and tells you what repairs you can wait on. Light on the dash bothering you? He's a master mechanic and can turn it off. He's always friendly and spends time with each customer and has saved me thousands (literally) and I'll never take the car to any other shop, period!! Late in the Fall, my car started having problems. The battery light came on, and it died even after getting jumped. My brother highly recommended Five Star Auto, and spoke very highly of its owner, Tony D. I got it towed to their location in Newport Beach in the afternoon, where I met Tony. He quickly ascertained that my alternator had died. Not only did he get the part, and install it all before they closed, but he also called to let me know when it was done. I'm sad to report back with a 1 star review for Five Star Auto. I just got my service B and had some cosmetic repair done, and Five Star is the only place I have been going to since Fletcher Jones, 6 years ago. Right when I get my car back, after I even had them up charge me on rear brakes, it has a bolt in the rear tire!!!!! I of course take it back immediately and I state I'm disappointed to pay $600 for repairs and get my car back in subpar condition. Then some older man LITERARY steps in front of me and puts his hand in my face and starts yelling at me!!! I have been coming to them for years and I am a young woman who worked in the car business and that was some BS male dominance they tried pulling on me. I will no one be a patron of this establishment and will stop sending referrals. And if you're a woman don't go without your man .... please see my first comment below on how I thought they were great.... don't look for good customer service if you're a woman from this place. The only place I take my Mercedes-Benz to get worked on! This is the best place to take your car for repairs. They're ethical and their work is superb! Jerry/Tony are great! I drive over 50 miles to get my Benz serviced here (I've been coming over 7 years). These guys are TRUSTWORTHY and not looking to just make a buck off you. They know what they are doing and keep my Benz running in tip-top shape. Their prices are very good & within reason. The dealer prices are exorbitant! I'll never forget a time I had come to 5 Star for routine service, Jerry serviced the car but sent me to the dealer to have them replace something still under warranty. When I went to the dealer, they diagnosed car and tried to get me to do $2300 worth of (work I needed). I laughed at them, because I knew that the car was just fully serviced at 5 Star! I took my car to a small shop in Old Towne Orange. The mechanic advised that he knew how to work on my Mercedes Benz, but after he completed all the work. There was a safety light that wouldn't turn off. That mechanic told me that I would have to take it to a Mercedes Benz dealer to get the safety light turned off. So, after getting my work done at this mechanic that claimed he could fix my car. He obviously was not able to fix everything and caused a problem. It was very annoying and frustrating. I mentioned this to my co-worker; who also has a Mercedes Benz. She told me about the mechanic that she takes her car to. She then introduced me to Jerry at Five Star Autocare in Newport Beach. I've been going to Five Star Autocare every since. I've been taking my car there for about 5 years. I absolutely love Jerry, Tony, and the staff. They are all so very helpful. I put a lot of miles on my car. So, I have to get maintenance on my car more often than usual. I have never had any problem after they work on my car.
