The only reason why it's 4 stars and not 5 stars is because I always asked if they were installing only OEM parts and they guaranteed me they were but I came to find out they were aftermarket parts and not original Mercedes Benz parts. I was referred to Pacific Coast Benz (PCB) by an acquaintance so I thought I would give them a shot. My MBS motorhome needed a new differential cover because it got bent on the bottom after someone tried lifting it with a floor jack. The local dealer was the one who spotted it during an oil change, but their quote to fix it was ridiculously high so I opted not to do the repair last year. It wasn't really leaking that I could see, but there were signs of seepage. After meeting Tom and Victor I had full confidence they could replace my cover. Parts were ordered, I arranged a time to drop it off and Victor got right on it. Tom and Victor are brothers, both very easy to talk to and you could just tell they were honest guys. I've recently become the owner of a CLS550, and after doing some research and having a few less than positive interactions with Fletcher Jones, I decided to come in to see Tom, Reed, and Viktor. When I pulled into the driveway, I immediately liked what I saw: no frills, just work. The waiting/office area is open, clean, and doesn't require you to pay their rent. Tom takes care of the phones and computer stuff. Reed and Viktor are in the other bays taking care of your machines. I've been in for regular maintenance (oil, transmission, 40k miles) as well as having a washer bottle replaced and the auxiliary radiator replaced. The prices quoted were lower than anything you'd receive from the dealer and the workmanship, attention, and general feeling of humanity are strong here. Going into a Mercedes showroom and dealing with those monkeys is never a pleasant experience, so I'm very happy with PCB and the guys who run the show. The guys are all really down to earth and know a lot about Mercs. They're fun to talk to as well if they're not too busy and the waiting area houses some interesting models. If you're shopping around for a talented team of guys to watch over your Merc, I'd suggest paying PCB a visit. The honesty and attention here are much appreciated and encourage me to send others this way. They're also very knowledgeable about Sprinters too which is a huge plus point. after the report on all the work my 87 300 e needed? I thought oh well at least I know now that sinking 10 k into this car wouldn't happen so I went to the boneyard got the parts I needed and worked on it myself.I'm a good mechanic! the mechanic s didn't really even want to work on it at all .it did look mint inside and out though so i went at it. replaced the cis fuel system all the injectors seals cap wires plugs tensioner pulleys belt relays and yeah the water pump! yikes, the meanest job I ever did in my life! long story short? the transmission seal was leaking and I just gave up on it! the car was too small for me anyway so I just sold it cheap and let it go. tom and vic are honest! fletcher or 5 stars would have bankrupted me, if you can afford the Benz go for it! they are expensive to repair properly and not all Benz mechanics are out to rip you off i spent 200 hours working on the 300e so? no, I don't want to be a Benz mechanic. read more

As a general rule, I leave mechanical engine repairs to the Mr., but I had a chance to meet Tom when we picked up our Sprinter Van and talk with him about a second Mercedes that has a warning light. I found him attentive as we described the problem with a genuine concern to understand and help us with repairs and how to best get the car in for repairs. I felt Tom was honest as the Sprinter Van blew a fuse and we were not charged for unnecessary expensive repairs and diagnosis. This is the second time, I have to stop by Pacific Coast Benz for minor issues. The 1st. time was about 3 to 4 months ago. The little light above the drivers side sun visor burned out. Now, both brakes lights went out. I am leaving to New York for a 2 week vacation, so I wanted to take care of the tail light issue before I left. So, I decided to stop by Pacific Coast Benz, again. Viktor Camaj met me outside, I didn't even need to go in. He greeted me, asked me what I needed. I told him. He asked to open the tail gate takes the tail light cover off. Removes the burned out lights. Puts new ones and sends me on my way. I asked him, how much it was for the 2 tail light bulbs. He told me not to worry about, it was on the house. I insisted, but he said, no. I don't remember the last time a mechanic didn't charge me and arm and a leg. for simply looking into the hood of the car. This is the reason I keep coming back to Pacific Coast Benz. They see you for who you are, "A VALUED CUSTOMER" They don't the say it, they mean it. Actions are always louder than words. Put off this review for a bit because I was mostly pleased and I'm pretty sure the unpleasant part of my experience was a fluke. Nevertheless, here's my experience: In March 2014 I purchased a used '98 SLK, knowing that it had a salvage title and needed a little work, including replacement of collapsed engine mounts. When I dropped by Pacific Coast Benz they quoted me a reasonable $650. I agreed to let them do it the following day, as well as perform the 100K service that was due soon. Altogether, they completed $1,526.34 worth of service for me that was completely to my satisfaction. Here's the rub. My rear brake lights also needed to be replaced, and they told me it would be $500 to replace them both because of defective design. At first, I authorized it over the phone. After I reflected that evening I kept thinking how "defective tail lights" sounded familiar. I checked the CarFax report for the car, and in fact, my little SLK was eligible for the tail lamp recall and so I told Pacific Benz to forgo that work, having Fletcher Jones install the the tail lamps a couple days later for FREE! My complaint is that a mechanic specializing in Mercedes Benz's should be aware of the recalls as to avoid exploiting their customers. That being said, the recall was from 2006 and even Fletcher Jones said most SLK's have already had the recall completed. Also, I had Fletcher Jones check out the other work I had completed by Pacific Coast Benz and they said the work was really well done. read more

I love my Mercedes, but I could never afford to keep it mint if it were not for Pacific Cost Benz and the honesty of all who work there! I made a mistake by putting a cooler in the back seat . On the way back from Vegas I simply did a stupid thing, as the ice turned to water and my driving made it spill. A lot of water leaked down though the seat and messed up a tire sensor, that caused a lot of errors. I had no idea a few days later as why my car was messed up. any other dealer would of taken advantage of my mistake surly... but not Tom and his team as they did the right diagnostic and fixed the issue the first time very inexpensively. Highly Competent, Honest, reliable, and at much more reasonable prices compared to a Mercedes Dealer. I took two Mercedes R350 for a Pre-Purchase inspection and Tom, Victor, and Frank were extremely meticulous to test both vehicles with their computer test system as well as visually for all parts functionality, while performed a final Test Drive with me. They were instrumental helping me in my purchase decision with a very detailed Inspection analysis report and accurate repair estimate that helped me negotiate a very fair price with the Sellers for both vehicles. Found them by luck when I was out of long distance tows from AAA and car wouldn't start. I called to ask if I could have car towed there and they said no problem and they would let me know what was going on. It ended up being something "simple" for them to figure out since they only work on Mercedes.. the price was fair and they had it fixed within a day. Added bonus is your car is locked behind gates or inside when they are closed . I will be bringing my car back whenever it needs repair! I just wish they worked on other German cars too! I have an AMG that I love and these guys are the best! And so HONEST. It makes driving my car that much more fun.
