Where's the BEEF? Reluctantly ordered again from here recently because the person who wanted the pizza wanted it from five star. I remembered my previous poor experience and advised against it. My pizza was around $25 and had onions, black olives, banana peppers, and ground beef. There was hardly any onion and me and my guest couldn't even see the beef that is how skimpy they were. There have been a couple of nights during this C19 pandemic where we just didn't want to cook, so we've pulled up Door Dash and ordered from Five Star Pizza. And each time the food has been phenomenal. We have ordered the same thing each time. A bacon cheeseburger pizza and the garlic parmesan wings. The wings are great; they come floating in a wonderful butter lake filled with garlic and herb goodness. Perfect to dip your pizza crust in. And the pizza, well it is just truly magnificent; big chunks of bacon on top of a perfectly cooked crust with gooey mozzarella cheese that leaves strings as you pull a slice from the pizza. Other than being in a run down strip mall near a bar and their drivers smoking out front, the food was really good and the young lady who took my order was super pleasant. Got an 18 inch (XL) pizza with pepperoni and cheese and ten wings for me and the kids. When I turned around, all the food was gone. The pizza has a good flavor and the wings were tender and well flavored. This was my favorite pizza joint until recently, after roughly ~5 years of ordering. Not because of bad food, rather because of two unfortunate experiences. It is apparent that their delivery zones change based on who is working and what night you call them. An order placed on 08/25 ends up getting cancelled 15 minutes before anticipated delivery citing that "we've never delivered to your area". No contact made when I submitted a feedback ticket on their website. An order placed on 09/02 delivers with zero issues. A friendly conversation with the delivery person who has made countless deliveries to my house was just as puzzled. Order placed on 09/09 is never made. After two hours of no delivery, I call the store to be told "we tried to call you 6 times to let you know that we don't deliver to you" and "sorry you didn't call us sooner to figure that out". Kind of funny how i was able to try this place out, I was driving for uber eats and i couldn't find the customers house and they weren't responding so the order was canceled and i got to keep the food. I ended up giving the pizza to someone who needed it more than i did but from what i heard it was absolutely amazing. I did keep the garlic knots and they were honestly THE BEST garlic knots i've ever had. The service i had as a driver matched their food, phenomenal. I did have to wait for a few minutes for the food to be ready in the restaurant but they super kind and helpful. I felt very welcome there and will definitely be coming here again, intentionally next time! . There are loads of pizza places in Jax. If you were to compare five star pizza to all of the others it truly can't hold a candle to V's, Vino's, even the loop. The crust is thick and kinda dry. Their garlic rolls were warm, but it didn't taste like real butter and they weren't too garlicky tasting either. We're trying some different pizza joints, but this one isn't one we would recommend. They could Improve on their quality of their ingredients and their dough could be much crispier. Can't comment on the restaurant itself as we just ordered for delivery. read more

Just moved to the area and received a coupon for a free one topping pizza in the mail. Can't go wrong with that! We ordered a regular cheese and banana pepper pizza and a garden salad. Their pizza is just right and on top of that they have this garlic butter sauce (think Papa John's but a million times better) that is out of this world. These guys are generous with their toppings and quick. This is not the best pizza in Jacksonville by any means but if this is your local shop it's not a bad place to order from. It is a step above your Domino's, Papa John's, and pizza hut. It is a step below Whole Foods pizza which I rate at a 4 star due to the higher quality of ingredients on the pizza at a similar price point. Overall service was also quick and friendly enough. The pizza here is pretty tasty. They even have a 24" pizza to serve a big group. They do not go skimpy on the toppings and they taste pretty fresh. The restaurant is a small store front in a very busy shopping center. Once inside the restaurant it's pretty cramped. There are only 2 tables for a a seating capacity of 4. The staff was friendly but unprofessional. They were having personal conversation and using unprofessional language. The rating is in the name. I'm glad they didn't call themselves 7 Star, because then I couldn't give them a proper rating. But if I could, I'd give them 7 stars. These mofos use some really good cheese. I recommend getting an extra large extra cheese pizza. Also, you should get some garlic knots. But with the garlic knots, get a billion napkins. They drip a lot. WORTH IT! I have never eaten their chicken. I don't like chicken on pizza. Just cheese. Chicken and pizza are good, but they don't belong together. Service is great and the amount of food you get for the money is phenomenal. Be ware - it's a togo or delivery place- you can't really eat in the restaurant but that's okay. I typically get a cheese pizza and garlic rolls - cheese pizza has PLENTY of cheese without adding extra. The garlic rolls are nice and garlic-y but be prepared for a good amount of oil...but hey, they're an indulgence right? Service is decent once you're in the store but the phone service could be improved. I often feel like I have to repeat myself multiple times. Got a flyer in the mail thought I would try it out the delivery was quick approximately 40 minutes the pizza was marginal. Dough was OK. Toppings were not evenly distributed across the pizza we had the steak and green peppers, if you'll look at the picture you'll notice it's missing a whole lot of steak and all the green peppers are thrown in bunches. We've been ordering pizza from Five Star for about 3 years now and honestly have never been disappointed. They're quick with delivery and orders are always correct. The ingredients they use always taste fresh and the crust is perfect so when we think pizza we think Five Star Pizza. Our go to pizza is the deluxe but their spinach and feta pizza is outstanding so I'd highly recommend it. We just order it without the spinach and the kids always make sure any leftovers are eaten the next day for lunch. I normally order online which is convenient but occasionally I'll call and the customer service is always top notch when I do. In fact, for Christmas this past year we got a card from them with a gift card in it! We were floored and very appreciative especially at a time when it seems customer service is a bit of a lost art. Make sure you order the garlic rolls too, if I drowned in a pool filled with their garlic butter I'd die a happy man. There are plenty of pizza joints in Jacksonville to choose from but we rarely get pizza anywhere other than here. Every pizza tastes as good as the last one we ordered so the consistency is there and to me that's the hallmark of a great place to eat because a lot of places aren't consistent with the quality of their food.
