Last year, after someone backed up into my front end, AAA recommended a couple of shops (of the two body shops who looked to specialize in older cars/restorations, ACR actually seemed like they wanted to help me out) ACR did an awesome job on my 1973 Datsun 240Z. These guys are great! My girlfriend scraped her wheel on the freeway when someone got in her lane on the fast lane. She swerved to avoid getting hit but caused her to hit her front wheel on the center divide. Was gonna go through insurance but damage wasn't that bad that we thought it might be more financially smart if we looked into a local repair shop to repair the wheel. I gotta say, I was wowed. The shop was super clean, and the team was great and helpful. They even offered me a ride to wherever I needed to be! Now that's above and beyond because I've never been offered a ride at any other body shop. When I got my car back, they even took the liberty of washing the exterior of the car, which I drove in dirty with a lot of dirt and water marks. A couple months ago, a car rammed into the driver side of my Subaru (while I was in it) and mysteriously ended-up practically on top of my car - in Alameda, which is has a 25-mph speed limit. My poor car was hurled forward and propelled into the car in front of me, as well as into the street light on its passenger side. I think the accident legit made it into every passerby's Instagram story; even the cops were taking personal photos because they'd never seen an accident like that in Alameda, lol. Needless to say, there was 360-degree damage. My insurance company recommended Fix Auto and I almost (almost!) wouldn't mind getting into another accident if Fix Auto could fix my car again, lol. That's how freakin' good they are. Fix Auto followed all COVID-19 safety precautions and they were incredibly responsive, friendly, and transparent throughout the entire process. These folks are automative artists! I brought in my leased Ford with deep red metallic paint that had been GOUGED in the front by a vandal's knife or key. The damage extended onto multiple panels and looked all but unrepairable. As the end of my lease term approached, I was concerned that the damage would cost me big time, even after being "repaired." I had a brand new with 700 miles on a GS500 Lexus, I backed it into a truck lift gate and as a result tore a 5 inch gash in the drivers side rear and broke the tail light...not bad but broken. What I'm still trying to understand is the first estimate was $2,469.22 and the final repair bill was $3,395.00 and the rear taillight was not replaced and is still broken. The excuse was "oh that left rear light is $650.00 and we thought we would save you that money." I made the mistake of paying the bill and then and only then after they drove the out, once I saw the taillight was not replaced for $3,395.00 drove home with a knot in my got because I was not happy at all. The two other estimates from different companies included the taillight replacement. During the repairs receive a call that the first estimate is more because we need to paint the door, this went on and on. I can't see why in the first estimate should have been the first thing they should have written down. So now I need to shop for a rear light and have that replaced. Tom read more

Hit and run on my new G37, i don't even have my license plates yet. *Tear* Was recommended to go to ACR. Spoke to Jose, VERY PROFESSIONAL. I was able to drop my car off that same day and he gave me a lift back to work. =] Although the repairs took a little longer then what it was quoted. It was understandable because I wanted them to spend as much time covering the damaged areas. They was nice enough to give me a rental for the mean time and dropped it off to me at work. My paint got chipped from a falling tree during a bad windstorm. Jorge at Alameda Collision Repair did the paperwork and he seamlessly worked with my insurance company all the way. I got my car back in 2 days, and it looked like the damage to my car never happened. My car is a 2016 and so I was so sad when my 'new' car got damaged. It is now perfect again. My car was spotlessly clean inside and out, when I picked it up and just great service from everyone. It is customer service at the highest level. Their office and customer areas are very clean and welcoming too. Often the car offices have scents of motor oil, gas, etc. but this was like waiting in an office that wasn't an auto repair. The staff that I dealt with at this facility was polite and professional to a point. I took my Audi Q7 in for an estimate and according to myself and several other people, my Vehicle had minor scratches, a bottom panel had been disassemble but unharmed, so all that was needed was the panel to be clamped back on which in my opinion could not take more than 10 minutes. I have pictures of the damage and am looking to post them here. The appraiser , Kyle came back from the computer and said, there's a lot of work to be done, I said to myself, what do you mean , I only have minor scratches. I looked down at the sheet and saw an estimate amount of nearly $3,600, that was a total outrageous amount given the work needed to be done, when I post the photos judge for yourself. I wasn't going to accept this quote as gospel, so I went to Maaco in San Leandro who had done a good job before painting my Corvette. The same job there with a quote of $1400. I'm not in anyway trying to trash anyone, but fair is fair and the price quoted at Alameda Collision was beyond fair, I was paying out of pocket and had I sent the photos and paper work to my insurance company, I am sure they would have sent me elsewhere. read more

I can't say enough about this place. Really great service and they deliver on results. I got my car back on Friday and my wife was amazed. She said the bumper and side of the car looked brand new. (and then of course started asking if she could get scratches on her car worked on...) They did a great job. The bumper was the same one, they got all of the scratches and scuffs out. The fender, they worked with Geico and convinced Geico that replacing the fender was wiser. Prices are very fair. The initial estimate seemed high to me at first. Even Geico's adjuster was in the same ballpark, and after the work was actually done, there was more that required replacement and repair--so the initial estimate was lower. This past experience where the guy sideswiped me (and then lied to both insurance companies and claimed it was my fault) still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. #AlamedaSpirit ACR helped ease the pain and frustration of the local dentist taking me for a ride. I don't normally take the time or effort to write reviews for companies I do business with, but in the case of ALAMEDA COLLISION REPAIR I truly felt compelled. I drive a black 07 Infinity that I take meticulous care of. When I park the car, I do so at the very edge of the lot to avoid door dings, as a result the car has remained in perfect condition, with exception to the FOUR hit & run/no fault accidents I have fallen victim to in the last 2 years. The first time I went to a shop recommended by insurance company right here in ALAMEDA for AUTOBODY work ... BIG MISTAKE! It was a fight with the shop just to have the correct parts used in the repair. They were cutting corners by using aftermarket parts that didn't fit, once they had the check from the insurance company, I was truly at their mercy, and had to return the car again and again before it was even close to right. The next time I took it to ALAMEDA COLLISION REPAIR, and worked DIRECTLY with Arthur, the owner, who took great care to make sure the repairs were done right. I was extremely happy with the outcome. Not only did it look great, but they delivered it when promised, and seemed to go the extra mile to make sure I was happy with the end result. Then a few months later I had a minor situation, and because it was geographically more convenient, I elected to take it to a MAJOR AUTOBODY shop in San Carlos. Again, I was extremely unhappy with the quality of work. When I brought the car back to have the drips, runs, and blemishes in the finish fixed, the guy at that shop acted like he couldn't see what I was talking about! I felt insulted, after all this is HIS business, I would expect him to be able to pick out those imperfections much easier than I could. After returning the car several times, although each time there was slight improvement, I could still see many imperfections. I finally gave up. Then (again) last month some a-hole hit my car while it was parked, causing over $6500 in damage! This time I took my car back to ACR, again worked with Arthur on the initial estimate and eventually the supplemental claim. After ACR had gotten the car taken apart, they discovered additional hidden damage, which I expected would mean a delay, but that was not the case! They finished on time as promised, and the car looked perfect! As it turns out Arthur was on vacation for the tail end of the job, which initially worried me, but Bernadette was every bit the service oriented accommodating professional I could have hoped for. Frankly, I find that is not often the case when you go from working with the owner of a business, to working with the staff, especially when the boss is away. Thank you ALAMEDA COLLISION REPAIR. This place is AMAZING!! They are fantastic with EVERYTHING! From the customer services to the speed to the communication with the insurance companies to the finished product. THEY ARE FANTASTIC! But if you're not convinced, read on... I was rear ended on the freeway during stop and go traffic for the first time. Stuck with a lady trying to skip out on paying her end of the money, I was frazzled and upset. I went to Alameda Collision Repair based on their Yelp review and I wasn't dissapointed. I pulled in, no appointment, my estimate was done in less than half an hour (pictures and all!). I got a call as soon as the insurance company approved the estimate and they already had the parts on order as well as an appointment for drop off within a couple days. Each step of the way they were in communication with me. They didn't mind my numerous questions and they PERFECTLY matched my 1998 BMW Z3 hot red paint! It was like new! So then six months goes by and WHAM! My coworker smacks my car. As soon as the other insurance company made an estimate, it was 2 weeks and I was back driving my little red sports car down the road. They recognized me and my car the second I pulled in. Paul helped me and he was AWESOME!!!! So then 3 days goes by and WHAM! A random dude hits the exact same spot they just repaired. Needless to say, I cried. Paul was amazing again. He saw me pull in and jumped up to help. He was supportive especially since I was so frustrated. He was so efficient with the estimate and after working out the kinks with the other guy's insurance company, Paul was calling me up with a time for drop off. I selected Alameda Collision Repair purely because of it's convenient location in Alameda off of Park St and I really lucked out. They are friendly, professional and most importantly do amazing work. I brought in my Infiniti G35 that was rear ended and was worried about them being able to match the paint color, but they pulled it off perfectly. They were even able to repair certain panels (perfectly) instead of replacing them as two other shops wanted to do. An added plus is that they are right near an Enterprise rental car (walking distance) if you need alternate transportation while your car is with them. read more

I took my car to Alameda Collision Repair after a high-speed collision caused about $5,000 worth of damage. Because an out-of-state trucking company was paying for the repairs, an independent appraiser had to write up an estimate. The appraiser took 2 weeks to respond initially and then failed to show up once the car was at the body shop. Arthur at Alameda Collision was great throughout the whole ordeal--my car ended up being at the shop for about six weeks, much of that time waiting for the appraiser to answer calls and emails. They didn't charge a storage fee, and they kept me updated during the process. The car looks amazing--you would never know that it had been hit by a mack truck and bounced off of a concrete wall. The reason I gave four stars out of five: unfortunately, when I picked up the car, the sunroof was broken. There wasn't time to take it back in to be fixed before I moved across the state, so now I have a sunroof that doesn't work. read more

Had a BAD experience. This is the second time I took a car to ACR and the quality of work was good, HOWEVER, when I went to pick up my car, there was a SCRATCH on my car that wasn't there when I dropped it off!! The guy checked to see if it was a superficial smudge he could rub off with his finger, but it didn't budge. I thought at least this is caused by a business that can correct it, but it means I am without my car for another week. I thought wrong. The guy from ACR went on to say I brought the car in with that scratch. Then he went to his chart, and showed me the X where they marked the areas with scratches. I was thinking are you f*#&%g kidding me? I inspected my car thoroughly that day to see if there were any smudges I could ask they buff out and that was definitely not there.....and I did not see them mark that area either when they inspected it during the drop off. To make matters worst, they ask you to pay the bill and authorize your insurance to pay them before they bring your call up.....rookie mistake on my part. Note to self and everyone: Wait till they bring your car and you inspect it thoroughly before paying, otherwise there is less incentive for them to correct any mistakes. So I said this needs to be corrected, or else I am going to dispute the charge on my credit card. Think that helped as an incentive for them to work with me. The ACR guy said he'd talk to the rep that was handling my car tomorrow and in the meantime, they will see if it is something they can buff out. An hour later, they called to tell me they were able to buff it out. Whew. I'd like to think they just had some kind of a mixup, otherwise it would mean they are SHADY! So I learned a few things from this experience that would be good no matter where you take your car. 1. The day you drop your car off, take pics of your ENTIRE car before you bring it to the shop. Don't just take pics of the area to be repaired. 2. Get a copy of the paperwork where they marked the scratches. so if they change it after, you have proof. They did not provide this copy to me and I didn't think to ask. 3. Don't pay the bill until you have thoroughly inspected your car. Think most auto repair shops always ask the bill to be paid before they retrieve you car...insist to inspect it first. Hope this was helpful. read more
