I can't say enough good things about the people here and the work they do. My car was broken into in Oakland on a Monday. They took my car in that same morning for an estimate, ordered all the parts (which had arrived by Tuesday), and fixed my car in one day on Wednesday. Plus they gave me a ride to the BART station so that I didn't even have to rent a car for the day. My car came back so clean and pretty. My neighbor hit my car while it was parked on the street. He left me a note claiming responsibility and included his insurance and contact info. Quality neighbor considering the lousy situation. I called AAA Ins to start the claim process and was referred to Alameda Colission Repair as their nearest trusted repair facility to my home. Having just moved here I had no experience with any local body shops, so of course I checked Yelp for reviews. This definitely made me feel better. I called ACR scheduled my estimate appointment promptly for the following morning. Upon arrival I was greeted by Dylan Lazo for the estimate. He was prompt, courteous, and sincere about my total satisfaction. He discussed the process to establish my proper expectations, and told me he'd call to schedule the repair appointment once the required ordered parts had arrived. A week later Dylan called to schedule the repair appointment, mentioning the rental car company would be alerted so I wouldn't have a long wait that day. Nice touch. Everything went smoothly at drop-off, and I was called by Dylan a day earlier than expected to pick-up my repaired ride. They even adjusted my steering alignment that was affected slightly by the impact; pretty cool. I brought back the rental car, my car was repaired and nicely cleaned, and paperwork was all ready for my signature. I know that in a perfect world this is the way it's supposed to work out, but in reality it rarely does. He was extremely nice and professional even though he was dealing with quite a few customers. The cost to repair a huge dent and a big paint chip was so low that I did not bother to file a home owners insurance claim. They matched the color perfectly and even touched up a few other spots. Couldn't have asked for a better service. I went in with my VW Jetta after an accident that needed to be out of pocket because my collision hadn't kicked in. Other places quoted me ranging from 6000-10,000 dollars and even told me I should total my car. Miguel greeted me with the biggest smile telling me we could handle this and sat down with me to go over what was absolutely necessary to repair. I told him I was hoping to just get my car running but he did more than that and made my car look stunning with the minimum costs. He was straight forward and honest with me about parts such as whether a part could go aftermarket or if the part should be good even if it's a little more expensive. I ended up paying a little upwards $3000 with just a small dent left on my right side door, which he advised me I could fix later when I have more cash. Had to get a rear bumper replaced. Called ACR for an appointment because I was referred there by my insurer. Got the appointment and showed up. ACR looked at and scheduled me for a date to repair the bumper. I came in for the repair, dropped the car off, and got a ride to a rental car place through my insurer. Car finished as promised and the job looked fine. Everyone at ACR was pleasant and professional. The only negative was an overcharge of the repair bill by ACR, so they called me the next day and had me come back in to correct their mistake. read more

I recently visited ACR for the first time. I had a small baseball size dent in my door. Pretty small and simple to fix. Stopped in one day for an estimate. Brought the car back in the next day. Start to finish, they fixed it in about 2.5 hours and they came in under their estimate. How often does that happen? Excellent service from Arthur Mercado. Excellent workmanship on the repair. And excellent value for the price paid. This is one of those businesses that you hope to not need very often. Some poor prior body work and paint had several sections of my otherwise nice 2004 Chevy Avalanche in need of repainting to several sections of the car body.I live in Pleasanton and in asking around for a great body shop, a couple of people whose opinions I really respect suggested I take my truck to Alameda Collision Repair. While I would have preferred a place closer to PTown, the 2 referrals were so overwhelming in every way, that I decided to go in for an estimate and to check them out. From the first time I came if for that initial estimate, I was handled by Leo- the entire experience was first class. Leo is super professional, straight-forward, personable but business-like. He explained everything from why the prior paint job failed, how they would re-paint the 4 sections (both front fender/quarter panels, hood, and tail gate. In addition, the facility, which is a little tight to get in and out of on very busy Park St, is immaculate, very cool and well run. I would take any car I needed body or paint work done here. The truck came out looking great, they matched the paint to the rest of the car so you can't tell only those sections were freshly painted or that un-painted section haven't been. Sister's Ford Escape got dented in a parking lot a few months ago, on the driver's door, so we had to bring it in to be repaired. Leo took us in and took care of us - we are grateful! They did an amazing job on the repair because the door looks brand spankin' new, like it was never assaulted in the first place. They pay attention to details, down to the little spots of rubber between the door and the handle, so that the paint job isn't compromised. They do things right the first time. Brought my car here since my family did business with them before so I trusted them. My car got back into on the two doors on the driver side in between the b pillar of the car. So when I got my car back I was pretty happy until I got home and tried to lock the door and the locking mechanism was messed up. I brought it back less then a hour of having it and they fixed in in 30 minutes. I get my car back again and go to a friend house then in the sun light I see a low spot where they did the body work on the car so I brought it back again, they said they'll send out the pdr guy to come fix my car. Well weeks went by no call or anything and my car still wasn't fix making me evaluate the body work further noticing some sand marks from bad prep work and waves all along my door from probably sanding the primer with the orbital. A simple spray of Guide coat could of help and see it wasn't even. But anyways called my insurance and they contacted them then they finally sent out the pdr guy to fix the one low spot after months of it being like that. Pdr guy did do a amazing job on what he did tho. Now the current situation is the clear coat on the inner jamb began to fail. It became really sticky and when I cleaned it off the clear coat came off with some of the paint. Been very disappointed with the overall work done to my car. read more

This place is great! I worked with an employee named Miguel to get an estimate for minor paint damage done to my car and he put on a small amount of solution that cleared the problem in minutes! There are still tiny scratches that I would come back to fix but he took the time to do something a little extra and the car ended up looking almost as good as new. Beyond appreciative! I never had such a wonderful experience with any collision repair shop until I find this place on Yelp. The good reviews did not lie. They treat their customer with loyalty and respect, not to mention they get the job done quickly and is able to restore your vehicle back into its original condition. Since I am going though my insurance for the repair so I need a repair shop who can handle the insurance claim and communication for me and they were very helpful on this part. Jennifer did a quick inspection and test drive on the day when I brought my vehicle in and she explained thoroughly what will be done and how long I am expecting to wait to get my car back. She was very responsive and keep me updated during the whole process. It is always a hassle for me to go to a car repair shop but Alameda Collision makes everything so easy and their service is super friendly. After some "highly energetic" driver pushed me off the road because, he/she could not take turn in their lane and went over to my side, I ended up "hugging" the wall and I scraped the passenger side of my car. Later, I realized that I could had let him/her hit me and it would had been his/her fault, because of driving into my side of the road-, but I did not do it. At that moment, instinctively, I was trying to avoid a collision. I did not get that driver's license plate number and I had nothing I could report to the police (there were no witnesses), so I ended up covering the cost of the repair. I went to several shops at Alameda and their quotes were VERY high. I was reluctant to go to this shop, but I finally changed my mind. I honestly expected them to give me a similar quote and I thought they, too, would tell me what else they would "need" to fix. Each shop wanted to replace parts, which was driving up the price. But when Arthur, the owner of the Alameda Collision Repair shop-, spoke with me he told me that he would be able to fix it without needing new parts. He explained to me how they were going to do it and I was, at first, skeptical. I also did not want the whole passenger side to be painted, because each panel would cost an additional $300 or so. I knew that the color of my car was difficult to match (metallic cabernet), but I was willing to live with having a slightly different shade of it. At that time in my life, there were too many things happening and I could not afford any additional costs of this repair. Arthur offered several discounts and the overall price was reasonable. He was not pushing me to paint the extra panel to bland the color, and he was respectful of my financial limitation, at that time. The repair was completed on the day, which it was promised. When I saw my car, I was shocked, because that side of my car looked like new. The paint was so well matched that I had hard time seeing the difference in the color. I only knew about it, because Arthur pointed it out to me. The part of the side panel, which was pushed in and was slightly mangled, looked like new. In fact, I asked him whether they decided to replace the parts, but he said that they did not have to do it. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised and I am very happy with their service. If I need another auto body repair, I will certainly return to this shop. read more

I found Alameda Collision services, to be top notch. Arthur's competent capabilities and his knowledge of auto insurance were very positive. I was not content with what my insurance said was necessary, so at the advice of 2 business associates I visited him. I noticed his shop was spotless, and a great sense of harmony among all the staff and workers. Even his bathroom was similar to a five star restaurant. (I was impressed.) He called where I had my truck and calmly and matter of fact said he would be picking it up the next day. He did and his company repaired it perfectly. A year later I had another issue, he corrected it at no cost and in less than an hour. My son had his car recently wrecked, it was simply parked, again the same situation. I found ACR on yelp after being rear ended in Oakland. After a painful experience dealing with the other person's insurance company, I was feeling, to put it lightly, a little bit frustrated. After I was finally able to bring my car into the shop, I called ACR and was able to bring it in the next day(I couldn't bring it in that afternoon). Paul was super helpful, explained everything to me, and within two days, my car was done. It looks brand spanking new, and the experience was so great that I would recommend them to anybody.
