I brought my baby here (her name is Coupey) after we got into a little mishap on the 110. Acme was a certified shop through my insurance company and it seemed to have good reviews (not to mention it was close to work!), so Coupey and I gave them our trust. It started nicely. They agreed to fix my back bumper (outside of insurance - since the damage from my car ax was front end) for a cheaper price. But then they had my car for 16 days...they promised me 8 to 10 days at first...and they didn't call me with updates much - only one time in the beginning. If I wanted an update, I had to call them and find out myself. One time they forgot to call me back too. Anyway, my repairs look good - and it's been about a week and a half since Coupey and I have been reunited, and all is well so far. I just think Acme should step up their communication skills with their customers a little better...but other than that, I'd say all is good with the hood (literally). read more

On May 23, I conducted my own impromptu crash test with my 2009 Camry Hybrid. I mean, why wait for Consumer Reports to do it? Anyway, the front left of my car failed to bounce off an SUV, the left front wheel well was destroyed, the tire blown, and the driver's side door was knocked out of kilter. My insurance company has ACME on it's list of preferred body shops. (ACME also has a mechanical repair shop which I've used before and which has never disappointed. But, that's beside this point.) Today, 54 days after the accident, I got my wheels back. ACME did a superlative job with the repair which involved a lot of frame work. Finally, they also washed and waxed the exterior and thoroughly cleaned the interior before presenting it to me. It looks brand-new, drives great, and only lacks a big ribbon tied around it. (Of course, for an 8-page itemized repair invoice that totals $18,950.81, it had better look sweet. Lucky I'm insured!) The staff, including Edith that answers the phone and the brothers Joe Gezalian (Estimator) and Gary Gezalyan (General Manager) - there's a story behind the different name spellings which Joe is happy to relate - are enormously friendly and helpful. If I was fated to have this car cruncher, I couldn't have asked for a better experience to set things aright again. Why, I just may go out and smash-up my wife's brand-new Prius just to see the folks at ACME once more. read more

I am giving these guys five stars and for good reason. This is a business run like any business should be run, professionally, with integrity, honesty and care. I will get into more detail. I was recommended to Acme by a family member who is a car fanatic. He has several cars he loves... I have one, my first car and I care about it a great deal. I was pretty upset when I had an accident ... mainly because of the damage that was caused to my car. In addition there had been some minor damage to the car in an earlier scrape that I'd been waiting on the manufacturer to get back to me on. When I went to Acme several things happened. First, they identified all the damage, told me how they were going to approach fixing the car and gave me options for the damage that couldn't be covered by my insurance company. I told them I wanted to fix everything and they gave me a time estimate. And here's the thing. Not only did they beat their own time estimate, when I showed up the car was as new. They went above and beyond in making sure that my car was maintained. That all the damage was repaired and I picked up a car that was cleaner, it smelt better than when I dropped it off. The guys there were also genuinely friendly. They remembered who I was, asked questions about me that related to my initial visit. The whole experience felt seamless. I've been back on the road with my car for a week now and I am still singing their praises. I don't write many reviews but, these guys deserve a good one. read more

Working in customer service I know what should be done and what I expect as a customer and Acme has met every one of those needs. They are by far one of the friendliest auto repair shops/body shops I have been to. I was "sandwiched" between two car about a week ago and my insurance recommended Acme. I was a little hesitant just because I've had bad experiences with shops my insurance recommend but Acme is by far one of the best. They called to set me up with my appointment for my appraisal and then kept me updated with everything that was going on with my car. This place is FANTASTIC! A friend recommended this place, so when I needed body work done after an accident, I thought I'd give them a try. Joe and Harry were AMAZING! They were courteous, friendly and gave GREAT customer service. They got my car done on time, kept me in the loop with every step of the process. They washed my car before returning it, and told me if I ever had a problem to let them know, because having satisfied customers was the most important thing to them. I had a brake light out (totally unrelated to the crash), and they fixed that with no charge. THIS is the way customers should be treated! Lost a customer for life. Cannot recommend this location to any of my many customers or family members. If your job is to over see that everything is done correctly by your employees and you fail at that, then I cannot say your worth the return business. I took the vehicle to my uncles mechanic shop to see how well they did. Different bolts and random washers that were not from the factory were used to hold my bumper in place. Not being accountable for a mistake and saying the manager won't fix the issue or help even though you were responsible for the car being fixed correctly is a huge turn off and not worth my money or anyone else's. There's a lot more I could say about them but I think the one star speaks for itself. It would have cost you $100 (maybe) to keep a customer for life, but you chose to be prideful and arrogant and not except a mistake. read more

In sum: Friendly, honest, and thorough in assessment I came to Acme after rear-ending someone on the 10 and being referred by Amica insurance. My concern was a dent that seemed to be preventing me from opening the hood. Joseph at Acme cautioned me that if we forced the hood open, it might be difficult to close, which would be unsafe. He gave me very good advice about checking in with my insurance company to see about rental coverage so I'd be prepared for the worst in case we got the hood open and it was a mess. Luckily, it turned out that the dent wasn't the issue -- I just didn't know about pulling the release cable. Even through Joseph has spent about 30 min already helping me, he wasn't ticked off by the fact that I didn't want to fix the dent, after all. Many an unscrupulous car person would have taken advantage of my obvious naivete and spun me some story about internal damage, but not Joseph. Here's to honest folk!
