Very neat and cute coffee bar in downtown! I got the honey lavender latte and it was really good!! It had the perfect hint of lavender fragrance. Loved it. Also Fix coffee is very quiet and I really enjoyed the ambience and the quietness while I was sitting at the bar for over 2.5 hrs doing work. I saw some people staying longer than me and I could tell this is the place to get some stuff done. After parking my car in 1 of the 3 spaces allotted for this establishment(and the only 3 available in the parking lot ). We ordered our 2 lattes and croissant - went to a table outside where the owner tells me I have to move my car because those 3 spaces are designated for To Go only. I asked "where should I park ?" He points to the fence which is actually the lane for the driveway . The owners demeanor was rude and obnoxious . It's a shame, the coffee wasn't bad , but the owner ruined the entire experience and any good vibe . I won't go back - it's not worth being mistreated, and possibly getting my car hit . read more

All of my friends have been raving to me about FIX. Parking kind of sucks though. They have barely to none parking spots in the plaza, so you would have to find parking in the streets or walk over. I came here to study, and the seats were wooden. It isn't as bad as you can imagine. They don't have much outlets though, so your laptop or devices better be charged when you come! Service was good. Prices were pretty average compared to other coffee shops, so no complaints there. What I ordered: Potato, Egg, Cheese Burrito - 4/5 It was a what you expect burrito. It was warm and the salsa that came with it really complimented it. Iced Matcha Latte - 4/5 I have really high expectations for Matcha Latte's. The barista did ask if I wanted it sweetened and I said yes. It wasn't that sweet still, but no complaints. However, there wasn't much of a matcha taste. Amazing baristas great coffee my go to for a coffee and space to work when I am in the area

I love coffee and it's an essential component of my way of life. When I travel away from the Bay Area I absolutely love to visit coffee shops. I yelped and yelped and yelped, trying to find the coffee shop that closely fit my style and after reading countless reviews I decided I'd go see the folks at Fix for my first visit. The shop is absolutely beautiful inside. Warm and inviting, craftily imaginative decor with excellent light colored wood on the floor darker bar stools and chairs. Well thought out indeed. There are some photos hung on the wall that lead me to believe that the Co-owner, Gary, was once a motorcycle racer. If that's the case, cheers Gary. The two most important aspects of a locally run coffee shop are crucial. Do they source locally roasted beans? Fix does indeed and that's a huge plus. On account of the heat and humidity in Houston during the summer, I wasn't brave enough to order hot coffee during my afternoon visit nor the morning visit. I was wildly impressed with the chalkboard on the wall indicating the weight of the coffee beans prior to grinding, weight of the end product of coffee, water temperature and timing of the brew. Just seeing that let's me know Karee (I hope I spelled this correct because she is the star of the show) takes every cup of coffee seriously and wants to create consistently great coffee for all of us. Patience is what they need from us so let's give them that much. I somehow managed to keep the cat in the bag until now. The absolute rock star product of this shop is the cold brew nitro coffee. This. Will. Blow. Your. Darn. Mind!!! The pour is slow and steady and once they put the glass on the marble countertop you can see chemistry happening before your very eyes. Its a magnificent sight to be seen and once the bubbles settle, the end product is an ice cold glass of the most amazing, delicious nitro cold brew you'll ever enjoy. The flavors are reminiscent of Newcastle beer, which I loved in my drinking days. Now, I will add, the caffeine level is high enough to send a rocket into orbit!! If you are not a fan of the highly caffeinated feelings, take it easy with this one. Shall we call the caffeinated high you'll receive Sussudio? I shall because it's that imaginary girl we've all crushed on. I spent about 5-10 minutes with Gary during the first visit and I really wanted to know what he was like and we spoke openly as though we'd been friends for many years. He and his partner Karee are clearly very passionate about coffee and people and they are doing a spectacular job with Fix coffee bar. Unfortunately I'm going to have to lower my prior review rating. I had a chance to visit this coffee shop a second time and was a bit disappointed. Don't get me wrong, still a good place to study as it is quite and has a lot of tables / chairs to use (aside from the lack of plug space as mentioned by other reviewers). I was here on Sunday and the place was dead in the morning, busy in the afternoon, but still quiet and I was able to get work done. I had the same lavender honey latte since I'd loved it the first time around. I asked for them to make it extra hot. It was at best luke warm, if that! It really was borderline cool and was very annoying, since I specifically asked for extra hot. Regardless, it also didn't taste as good unfortunately, it barely had any lavender or honey flavor in it. I also ordered their almond croissant, which is a whopping $5 and totally not worth it. It's not even worth 50 cents in my opinion. It was so dry that I'm fairly certain it must have been a leftover from the day before. It was that bad. It also just tasted very meh, at least the parts that I was able to eat (most of it was so dry and hard I just didn't eat it). Since I was there for a long time I also got their s'mores latte. It was very meh and I wouldn't recommend it. Just tasted like dark chocolate slurry that wasn't good. I wasn't able to take more than a few sips before I dumped it. With that said I did hear one of the employees later tell a customer that their s'mores latte taste better when served cold so maybe give that a try if you're curious? At any rate, maybe the barista that they had that day wasn't good and maybe their pastries were not on point that day, I'm unsure. But I was disappointed and I don't think I'll be coming back. Great quality coffee but it was diluted by the poor attitude and incompetence of the worker. Hopefully he wasn't the owner. The vanilla latte is very delicious. They claim to make the vanilla in house and the coffee was made with care. That being said, the older guy with the accent was a bit rude when we arrived making fun of our request for hazelnut saying, "You're thinking of Starbucks, sweetheart." Not really, but okay. He also didn't know how to process the card and assumed I was going too fast even though their card reader showed success 3 times in a row. I've been patronizing this establishment for over a year, but today was my last visit. As other reviews have indicated, the owner is quite snarky and rude. I had the unfortunate opportunity to meet him for the first time today. It's too bad because his employees are kind and his coffee is okay. Very difficult to support local small business when the proprietor is disrespectful. With better management and more efficient operations, this business could be doing triple the volume. Late review but my husband I would come here all the way from Katy to get coffee here. The coffee is great I can't lie. I was 7 months pregnant and my husband had just ordered 2 lattes. As we were waiting I asked the owner for a small cup of water because I wasn't feeling good. Clearly looking extremely pregnant, he told me no and I'll have to buy a water. After spending a ridiculous $12 in coffee and drive 35 miles there, he couldn't just give me a small cup of water? After confronting him, he finally gave me a small cup of water. Absolutely ridiculous. Never went back Update: So instead of the owner apologizing, they decided to leave me a 1 sentence comment. First off, there's nothing to be confused about, at the time I was there, there was no water faucet. I had to ask for a glass of water. You might have one now, but you didn't back then. If you did, he would have told me there was free water. I wouldn't just make up a review because i was bored. If there was a water faucet, then shame on him for not tell me and telling me I have to buy water because quote: "water isn't free" - words from his mouth. Places like this are the ones that don't last because of customer service. Great coffee, but the attitudes will over shadow that. Instead of getting defensive, try to apologize for the issue regardless of how you feel. That's good customer service. read more

This is a really great spot to study at. It's very brightly lit, spacious, has fast internet, music and people are not too loud, has clean tables and chairs, clean bathroom, and modern decorations. A lot of coffee shops are very small and have that "hipster" quality. I've grown quite tired of places like that so I was very happy to have discovered Fix. The parking is limited in the lot but there is street parking. They serve pastries and the usual coffees. Their syrups are house made and they have nitro coffee which is unique. I ordered their vanilla latte. Nothing bad to say but nothing that blew my socks off. I've had better coffee before but their coffee is still better than Starbucks for sure! My BF had the mocha and the nitro coffee. The mocha was very sweet as well. The nitro was a cool concept but I'm not too big of a fan of black coffee. All in all I think this place is a great place to study. The owners are also very nice. Hopefully next time I can try one of their delicious looking pastries. read more

This place is right by where I got my eyelashes done so I thought I'd work before going. I got a coffee and it tasted okay... I asked for oat milk, I'm lactose intolerant and can't have milk, and I'm 99% sure he put regular milk in it. I got home and my stomach was in knots and all sorts of upset. It only gets like this when I accidentally have any diary. I didn't love that they didn't have wifi either. I didn't look at reviews before I came and did see now that they didn't have it. It probably explains why I was the only one in there. I won't be back just because of the regular milk being put in my drink. I have been coming to Fix since it opened. It has been a good place to study/write. I order the same thing every single time I visit Fix (matcha latte, with non-dairy milk, and a side of honey). The price has been consistent. Today, I noticed that the price was $1.00 higher than my usual total. When I politely asked about the charge, the owner stepped in and said it was for the side of local honey. I showed her my last three receipts ($30.75 total) that showed that I had not been charged for honey during previous visits to the shop. She then insisted that I "calm down," because she is the owner, and it should be obvious to me that her employees had made "a mistake." When I told her that her husband, who is also an owner, had made the same "mistake," she said she would talk to him. She then said, "you are obviously upset because you have been given a discount on your drink, and now you have to pay full price." At that point, I cancelled the entire order, noting that we--Houstonians--have been through a lot during the past week, and it is surprising, and hurtful, to me that she would (1) suggest that I had been "given" anything, and (2) that she is willing to lose a regular customer over $1.00 "mistake." The owner was dismissive and defensive. Her behavior would be terrible, and unacceptable, on a regular day, but on a day when all of us are trying get back to some sense of normalcy after Hurricane Harvey, this seems especially egregious. This is the worst customer-relations encounter I have ever had in Houston. Fix Coffeebar has lost me as a customer unless the owners are willing to address this issue directly and assure the community that this kind of experience is not what we can expect from our local "coffeebar." I will be spreading the word around campus and on social media. Update: The owner of Fix Coffeebar ( @fixhtx ) saw me taking photos of the front of the shop, and she came out and started taking pictures of me.
