Stopped here for happy hour after work and I'm so glad I did! This restaurant and bar is located on the second floor of the Fairmont Hotel, one of the nicest hotels in the city. The bartenders crafted our drinks perfectly and provided excellent service throughout our visit. The atmosphere strikes a great balance between elegant and welcoming and you'll see everything from elevated casual and business casual attire to guests attending upscale events. It's a great spot for happy hour, drinks with friends, or a special occasion. If you eat at a table you can even get a great street view of downtown.

Had a mediocre experience here over a recent brunch. Despite not being very busy, the service was extremely slow (I mean we were refilling our own waters and looking for a server at multiple times.) I had shakshuka and it tasted good, but the egg was overcooked so it wasn't the best I've had.

A few colleagues drop into fl.2 for happy hour. There's a real upscale flare with lighting, decor, and robust/hearty menu. Opted for the Smash Burger. Pretty good burger overall. The main event was the fries. Thinly sliced, crisp and well seasoned. Paired with the aioli ... *chefs kiss*. As far as beverages, I had a couple of mojitos. Very refreshing on a cloudy Pittsburgh day. Service was solid.

So I came back a month later for a business meal, and while I cannot applaud my timing (traffic was terrible on account of the streets being blocked off for a festival), I'm glad I did. The apple salad and salmon were fine the first and second times (as leftovers), but listen to the reigning Yelp Duchess when I say that the whiskey sunburst was A-MAZ-ING.

Can't speak on the food because I didn't eat here- but had 2-3 great cocktails here! Stopped here after dinner with a friend after she raved about the espresso martinis. They were fab! The ambience is beautiful. It's a lovely hotel, and one of the nicest "hotel bars" I've ever been to! Doesn't even feel like a hotel bar The bartenders were really kind and knowledgeable about the drinks, and had recommendations for us. I can't remember what the other cocktail I had was, but it was so refreshing and light- the perfect summer bev

The gin cocktail and an old fashioned. Delicious and perfect glassware for each cocktail.

Delicious drinks, beautiful atmosphere. This is on the second floor of the Fairmont and offered us a quieter bar to have a cocktail upon arrival in Pittsburgh. The first round of drinks was perfection. We had the gin cocktail and an old fashioned. The bar got busy when we were ready for our second and we waited quite awhile for our second round. The food everyone was ordering around us looked really good and we should have stayed for the burger. Second round was good but not great, we definitely felt like the quality wasn't there on the drinks, but probably bc the guy was in a rush trying to get everyone served. My only disappointment was that... I'm guessing they were short staffed for the night. Would definitely come back again to give it another go.

The breakfast at this restaurant was amazing. The pancakes are a MUST, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Very accommodating and the service was great. Definitely a nicer feel than most hotel restaurants.

What an incredible dining experience! So often the staff can make dinner so much more exceptional. We have been to a lot of restaurants, in the. USA and abroad. Jered was unequivocally the best server we have ever had. He is extremely personable, very knowledgeable, and goes out of his way to make every course of your meal exceptional. I just cannot speak highly enough of his skill set. On top of that, the food was outstanding. We loved the pear salad with the port wine reduction. The onion soup was the best we've ever had. They even went the extra step to split the portion in two bowls! Grilled bread service with flavored butter. The filet with homemade mole sauce was incredible. The sauce was so good I asked for extra! Cocktails were creative and unique. The chocolate cake was fresh and worth the calories. Executive chef Canales visited our table and told us about the complexities of making homemade mole sauce. He has a secret ingredient! If you've not been to this FL. 2 recently, I would strongly suggest you go. It is well worth it!

I came here for happy hour drinks. The bartenders are attentive and I highly recommend the espresso martini. The bar is nice on the 2nd floor and doesn't feel like a hotel bar. I had a nice night chatting with the other clientele at the bar. I would definitely come back.

The bar serves cocktails, wines, beers, and mocktails. For dinner and late-night bites, the restaurant focuses mostly on small plates and shareables, including charcuterie, chicken wings, pizzetta, steak, and salmon. They also have a Sunday brunch that serves lox bagel, shrimp and grits, French toast, mimosa, bloody Mary, etcetera. My husband and I ate one lunch here. The best aspect of The Finch was its beautiful views of downtown Pittsburgh's skyscrapers, Monongahela River, and subway trains. The foods and drink were a mixture of quality, and my husband called them "garbage" (eek!). Here are my ratings for them. Berry Mint Spritz - 4 stars - This mocktail (I could have ordered it with alcohol to turn it into a cocktail) contained strawberries, mint, lemon, syrup, and soda water. All of the flavor had settled on the bottom of the glass, so I could have used a straw to mix the drink, but I did enjoy the flavors. Summer Crab Cakes - 2 stars - I received two crab cakes, and they were some of the worst crab cakes that I have ever received anywhere. They contained too much breading and too little meat. I did not even like the flavor of the cherry tomatoes on the side. I usually love crab cakes, but with these ones, I could take only a couple of bites, and then I had the waitress throw away the rest. Hawaiian Pizzetta - 4 stars - This small pizza consisted of four slices that had cheese but no gooey cheese-pull. Other toppings were BBQ sauce drizzle, pineapple, ham, and red pepper. I thought that it tasted good. Ember Steak Skewers - 4 stars - My husband said that the steak was not the highest quality. At least the chunks of steak, peppers, onions, and mushroom (we counted one piece of mushroom!) were marinated and seasoned nicely. The total cost for this one mocktail, three foods, and one soda was $79 *plus* a 3% credit-card surcharge, tax, and a minimum tip of 18%. We asked the waitress for a receipt, but she did not bring us one, so we walked up to her to ask for it again, and we did receive it.
