This place is nasty! What do you mean "healthy" food? This is fatty grilled fat on top of over cooked rice. We took two bites and threw it away. I would never go again. It is super cheap though and you get what you pay for. Except then you have to go eat somewhere else since you just threw away your 5 dollar food. read more

The only reason this is getting two stars is cuz the food is good and the guy in the back asked if we needed help. The cashier was extremely rude. I walked in with high hopes of experiencing my first healthy Asian food apart from sushi. Up until today it had been massive, greasy trays of chow mein and orange chicken. As I walked through the door and eyed the cashier I knew that today was going to be different. I ordered steamed rice. Yes, I, consumer of fried rice and oily noodles was trying something that five hours later I would not regret purchasing (hopefully). After the cashier got over my constant pleas for steamed rice he politely and patiently recommended chicken and veggies on the side. When I got my normal-sized plate I chowed down. Don't complain if the portion size isn't enough to feed three people, embrace it. Your body will thank you later. I left content, not stuffed, but content. Content in a good way. I usually don't write reviews but I really had to this time. I always go in the afternoons here, like after 5pm to eat because I really love the food and the customer service is very good. But today 5/14/18 I came in for my lunch break, at 1pm, to grab some food and it literally took the cook 20 minutes to cook my food and there was only one other customer ahead of me! I only had 10 minutes of lunch left! When I checked why it was taking too long, the cashier was very nice and apologized to me but I saw that the guy who was cooking was on his phone not doing anything!! I will NOT come back mornings anymore! If I see this guy whenever I walk in again, I will most definitely turn around and leave. read more

This location is new and clean, the food is delicious, and the service is friendly. A great, healthy fast food option. They have magic sauce (teriyaki), hot sauce, and jalepenos to add to your bowl if you like spice. read more

12/4/2017 (order in at 6:28 pm, per receipt, & still not received by 6:52 pm) This used to be my favorite Flame Broiler; I've been coming here for a long time. It's right next to Trader Joe's, which is very convenient since I go there often. We used to be able to get our 2 Mini bowls within 5-8 minutes of ordering; once in awhile we'd wait 10 minutes but not very often, & I didn't mind too much because I could see that the staff was working quickly to get our order done. Even if there were "lots of people," the service was friendly, fast, & efficient. The past 3 times I've been there it's taken 20 minutes to get my order. 20 minutes! So tonight after waiting 20 minutes, I decided to get a refund & go elsewhere. This was after I witnessed 2 customers with large phone orders come in after me and leave within 5 minutes of their arrival. Know this: I get the whole phone order thing. In fact I do it often when on my lunch break since I have limited time. But, having worked in food service for several years while in college, I also know that you have to get the phone orders out while keeping the walk-in customers happy, too. There is a way to dove-tail in both phone orders and walk-in orders so that the walk-in customer doesn't feel like they've been forgotten or are less valued. That did not happen tonight. So when I walk up to the counter to get my refund, the cashier is in the kitchen. Looks like he's helping the cooks w/orders, but I didn't see him wash his hands and am not sure. After making eye contact several times, he finally asks if he can help me. I tell him I want a refund, and he says, "You want a refund?" I tell him yes, because we've been waiting 20 minutes with no food in sight. Does he check to see if our order is coming out soon? Does he apologize for the wait? No, he just mumbles some excuse about there being "a lot of people," and proceeds to ask if I want the refund in cash or back onto my card. read more

Had to write a review came here last week on a Saturday night , ordered two bowls and literally got my food before I was able to fill my soda , it was so fast !! Guy even threw on extra "magic " sauce so bomb! Great customer service , super quick I was surprised ! Definitely coming back soon !! read more

The food here is to die for! it is so delicious and the prices are definitely fair! its a little small but i think it makes it more approachable and the staff are always so friendly. Normally I do not have any issues with flame broiler, but this one I have had bad experiences with. I ordered a large bowl of just brown rice, simple enough right? Wrong when repeating the order to the cook who looks like he may be using someone else's social security to work here hears the order he makes a small bowl of brown rice, I tell them a large bowl. I swear his face looked like I asked him to perform calculus, anyway he doesn't even fill the bowl all the way. I have never had my order completed correctly. Being that I always get food to go, I have been disappointed many times. Food is Flame Broiler tasting, nothing special; clean food. There is also a religious quote on the counter, I'm not one to mix religious beliefs with business. read more

I LOVE chicken bowels and always seek out good teriyaki. Flame Broiler is a chain and not necessarily the hidden gem teriyaki spot I typically enjoy, but I feel this one deserves a review. I have been to several Flame Broiler' s and this one stands out because the food has always been fresh and hot. The one in El Monte let's their chicken stand and it gets dry but here it has always been fresh. Definately.....MORE GOODER....lol I would give it a five star but the staff could be a but friendlier. read more

Wow! Yes, as others have stated there is an attitude going on with the employees. Also, you can't make your own sauce containers. But even worse is the quality of the meat. I visited this location for the second time and the meat is little tiny pieces that have been sitting on the grill for hours or days that are just reheated. It is overdone and a crunchy unsatisfying flavor. Will never visit this store again, and drive further to the store on Foothill. read more

OMG! I was so disappointed with this place. I found a hair half way through the bowl and they tried to play it down saying it was an eye lash! It's disgusting no matter where it's from! It was a mustache hair from the cook in the back. Not to mention while i was throwing up in the bathroom, I heard them laughing. The restroom is right next to their kitchen. I was excited to see this restaurant open in my immediate neighborhood, but now after going a few times I have seen the quality, service and cleanliness go down hill in just over a month. There was a bad odor in the restaurant last night (unpleasant) and sticky tables and trash and dirty napkins. Then, I waited way too long for my one plate order and when I took it home my salad had no dressing. It just does not taste or smell good and the place is unappetizing. Last time I was there they were mopping the floor with strong ammonia which was so strong, I had to eat outside and all the customers were complaining. So disappointed. I paid $8.00 for a dinner and drink that I basically took a few bites and threw out. I did not even want the drink. I will go back to Hawaian BBQ in the same shopping center for the bowl there. read more

The food is good and wait time is reasonable. Some places will charge you for additional cost to substitute rice with veggies, but they don't. Delicious and healthy food... fast! The location is brand new and very clean. Customer service is good. They are usually pretty quick. You can call in ahead and they will have your order ready when you arrive. I am a vegetarian and I love getting veggie bowls (just vegetables and rice.) Plus, don't forget the magic sauce which makes everything so much better! All of the food is also gluten free (except the magic sauce.) It is sometimes hard to find gluten free food, especially fast food, so this is a great place for those who don't eat gluten. read more

I ordered a mini chicken bowl and the chicken was so dry and burnt that I couldn't even finish it. It was horrible, like it had been sitting there all day and just kept being reheated. Not only clean restaurant, but also fast, cheap, and healthy food! They have fresh vegetables and fresh oranges. Also, they offer white meat for every one who needs to cut calories and try to be healthier. My opinion, the half and half plate is the perfect meal for everyone! You can get rice, half beef and half chicken, salad, and orange. Also, you can do half white rice and brown rice as well if you want to balance your diet and taste bud. They have a big sign at the store saying buy 5 of $5 gift certificate, you get 1 extra $5 ($30 value for the price of $25). I came several times, at night, in the morning, during the day in several different days. The cashier always shows to me that either they have only 3 ggft certificate, or 5 gift certificates, but never they have 6 !! which means there were no free one available as per the store sign is. If the owner didn't want to gift the free gift certificate, then don't post any sign !! It is MISLEADING and false advertisement!! read more
