A awesome new place to savor a well-crafted cup of coffee! I tried the Flip Top and tried the Greybeard breakfast taco. Both were delicious! The Flip Top is meant to be sipped. It's full of complex flavors. The location is small so not the best place for studying or hanging for hours. They sell bags of whole beans too. Don't be afraid to ask for a recommendation! You wont find a better iced almond milk latte anywhere in Austin than here. The almond milk they use is delicious (I believe it's the Dulcis brand which is only sold at 3 coffee shops in all of Austin) - it's infused with honey and Himalayan sea salt. As snobby as that sounds, if you're a serious/habitual coffee drinker, you'll likely appreciate the difference in flavor. Iced, non-dairy milk lattes are never cheap so if you're going to spend ~$5, may as well do it where the ingredients are top notch. The latte was strong too. The "Sunday Morning Ritual" - which has cinnamon toast crunch infused milk, espresso and a rice krispie type treat was decent but in my opinion can be skipped. It's a small shop but never too busy, and I've never had trouble finding a place to sit. read more

Fleet brings a charm and calmness that is fleeting in today's busy world. I'm not much of a "coffee shop person" but Fleet allows, even a novice like myself, to feel welcome and invited, and to experience the more technically advanced side of coffee. Lorenzo has been there almost every time I've visited and can have a conversation with you about anything - from Outkast and types of ice cubes, to Flyrite (the atheist Chick-Fil-A) and never having to explain your donut-eating habits. This is my all time favorite in Austin. The offering is incredible. An extreme variety of coffee from different roasters, a menu featuring unique ideas and refined flavor, and some of the most equipped baristas I've ever been served by. The aesthetic, like the menu, is refined, clean, and extremely cool to absorb. The space is very small, encouraging enjoyment and moving on, so I'd recommend putting it on a coffee crawl list or incorporating it into a day in Austin. read more

This shop might be a little overrated based on the normal traffic. In our group, we ordered one drip coffee, two lattes, one ritual, and a hot chocolate. The drip coffee was served a little cold with an odd aftertaste. The lattes were average, significantly better than starbucks but below average compared to other craft coffee shops. The two baristas were distracted by a local and forgot to bring one of our drinks. This same forgetfulness affected another customer who received their drinks after us but was in the shop before us. The specialty drinks should be listed on the menu as 6 oz. The price of the specialty drinks tend to make one think that they are larger than 6 oz. The ginger snap ritual tasted average and the ginger snap was incredibly hard. The hot chocolate was warm and tasted average. read more

This morning I tried out Fleet coffee. What a unique place! I had the Sunday Morning Ritual which is a double espresso infused with Cinnamon Toast Crunch milk. This combo was perfect, as the sweetness in the milk cuts the boldness of the coffee just right. It was even served with a rice krispy-style treat made from Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. The space is so interesting - it is a pie-wedge-shaped interior with a bar along the window and some seating along the wall. There is also a small outdoor seating area that would be great to relax in on a day I'm not racing to work. There were four or five parking spots out front, but there is also street parking that appears to be non-metered. Patrick was very friendly and answered all my probing questions about the coffee, the 'hood, etc. I will definitely run back to try the Irish Hello when I have time to properly enjoy that layered and lovely coffee drink. read more

Even before I moved to Austin, TX I always made it a point to come here on weekend visits. I've been to many coffee shops around Austin, and always find myself craving coffee at Fleet. Their pour overs are always consistent, their specialty drinks are genius (amazing flavor combos), and their service has always been great. To me personally, it's horrible when a coffee shop serves amazing coffee, but service is a "NEXT!" type feel. No petty people here folks . You won't get that here. THe baristas always have a smile on their face, and point you in the right direction for what you feel like that day. I've never had issues with parking and I've come at all random times. Is this a place to take groups? No. So what? It has that great hole in the wall type feel which I hope they never lose. I personally don't like going to super packed huge coffee shops to enjoy a nice pour over. Some do, I don't. They have nice seating outside as well and there's great WiFi. Always a welcoming atmosphere. I recommend Fleet to everyone that comes to visit Austin or has yet to try them out and live here. read more

I made a special trip here within weeks of its opening, not being on the way to anywhere I go, now that my primary commute is to the Eastside from Northwest Austin. In Cherrywood for the summer, so I hope to return soon, and to find that they haven't expanded their menu or space since my first trip. This scaled back edition of the minimalist coffee shop aesthetic is scaled up in intimacy and attention to detail. How could it not be, though, there's nowhere to hide?! Hah. I ordered my standard for comparison, The Americano, and it stacked up. Actually, I remember it being better than average, but can't remember why. More incentive to return soon. It seems to have become a crowd pleaser among Yelpers, mostly people making special trips like me, which leaves me wondering how many local people know about it. The size constraint does not make it ideal for setting up shop, but that is what makes Fleet exceptional, the smaller internet cafes in Austin are wall-to-wall with Macbook drones, too, whereas this one is just small enough to best serve people walking through the neighborhood, who want a quality coffee to-go. Perhaps they'll linger to banter with the owners who, as other reviewers mentioned, are incredibly charming and knowledgable. read more
